Hi thank you for your video. My son left for Army Bootcamp 5 days ago. He is at Ft Moore. He and I had countless conversations over the last 4 months about mental preparedness. I know that he is about 90% ready to “ drink the kool-aid “. I love that you also were frank about opening up to new cultures and experiences. I too believe this will be very important. I look forward to receiving letters from my son and writing him back instantly. 😊. I thank you for your service and I will keep both my son, you , and all others serving in my prayers.
Hey I was also at fort moore, it's going to be a rough first 3 weeks but I garuntee after that even just through the phone you'll be able to tell the difference in him handling basic & once he gets to know the people he's going through it with it gets alot better. Hopefully your letters get to him quickly I know the ones I sent out took about a week and a half to reach home in california and mail call Is weekly so shouldn't be an issue with him receiving yours either
@@KingCurt209 Thank you so much for responding. I look forward to hearing from my son. Wow you went from California to Georgia and now Texas. You are a very strong independent young man. I look forward to future videos. I will be praying to keep yourself and my son strong both mentally and physically.
Thanks for this :)
I’m done with everything I’m waiting to sign the contract I’m excited it will be next week
I ship out this Monday as an 11B so fucking excited
Hell yeah bro enjoy fort benning I'll always remember 197th E-229 on sand hill that's where I was. I was there for basic but your 22 weeks of osut will fly by just live in the moment and be readu to be the best infantryman you can while getting to do some badass shit!
@@KingCurt209I was in echo/ eazy company 229 as well! 3rd platoon
The commander was captain kerchberger or something like that lol
@@Omgggitstim yupp captian kerchberger with the ranger tab 😂 yall had ds arenas & ds Johnson during your cycle??
@@KingCurt209 yes! Had both of them. Along with ds Blackwell, Aquino, and Brady.
I’m leaving Aug. 19th fort Moore new beginnings can’t wait.
My little advise be tough mentally and physically. Start running and rucking . It is hard and tough ,just be prepared mentally .It helped me a lot
I’m thinking about doing it, going to talk to a recruiter tomorrow! Wish me luck 🗣️
Good luck and remember explore your options & study for the asvab!! Higher the score the better
Was the asvab difficult?
going to Leonard Wood march 11th, wish me luck
Good luck you got this 💪🏻
I shipped out in 2 days inshallah
Good luck 🙏🏻
Thanks for the vid bro,
Im shipping out this Sunday for BT…
Did u have to wear briefs or boxers were fine
We wore the underwear they issued to us any other boxers during basic were considered contraband
And good luck bro you got this!!
Thank you bro
Man I’m going soon, I love seeing more current videos like yours about the army (because it’s probably closer to the experience I’ll see too) we’re the 1% brother 💪
Hell yeah bro come in with a clear mind & be ready for any obstacles it throws at you you'll enjoy it
it wont be bad. honestly the military over the last 14 yrs since i got has become basically an adult fat camp for the most part and with lots of rules
What did you do to prepare yourself physically before joining? I’m enlisting around the end of may after my graduation walk and balancing time to prepare and work out is hard because of work
So before I enlisted I was already in pretty good shape I've been in the gym consecutively for about 5 years now and even though I was in good shape I had to change alot about how I worked out and recovery and almost everyrhing before I shipped to basic. This is a good question and I'll make a video on this topic itself
Any tips for a 5'9 skinny dude, i can run but cant really do anything much strength wise amd ship out sep 3rd as a combat engineer
to keep it short increase your calories and protien intake and slowly implement weight training to your routine, if you cant do a pull up start with dead hangs. do pushups in sets so like 10-15 then pause for a minute and bang that out again. just dont hurt yourself going too hard too early on and make sure you enjoy a form of weight training that you actually enjoy or find beneficial to you
hello sorry if this isn't the place for this question but I'm going in to talk to a recruiter tomorrow and i was wondering if I should disclose me having a medical marijuana card? I keep getting conflicting answers and just wanna know if I should be honest about it or not i know i cant test dirty but am curious if its gonna disqualify me or anything like that?
Yes be honest with your recruiter it'll make things easier for you and him both. But prior to taking a urine test or even thinking about going to meps you'll have to clear that out of your system.
I wanna join the Air Force, but I have asthma
You can still join but you will have to get pharmacy records and maybe a doctors statement saying your good for airforce basic
Yes to join the army he must first complete school and atleast be 17 years old. I joined at the age of 17 right after my graduation
I am so worry of running test. I am 29 years old I am not strong as others younger. I just do not want to be kick out.
@nhatthongnguyen6067 I recommend start training on your own time with a slow jog and pace yourself for about a mile. Eveuantly build up to a paced 2 mile and gradually increase your speed over time and you got it brotha nothings impossible just takes time & work you got it 💪🏻🙏🏻
@@KingCurt209 thank you. Will they train us until we can graduated or they just give us a few chances before kick us out?
Will they provide things to write letters? Also will they provide locks? Leave shipping tomorrow
Bring your own locks if you can but yes during processing you'll get the chance to buy writing utensils and stuff & locks but all that you can bring on your own
How much phone time? Cuz calls can be long, like 20-30 minutes?
I got anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour, your phone time in basic all depends on how the company is that week really
@KingCurt24 Thanks, I've been asking around and have been getting similar yet different awnsers, but some have usually said this, just needed confirmation.
Man I can’t decide whether I want infantry from the army or marines
Army infantry imo would be the better option but go with what you want brother! Look into both
@@KingCurt209 yea I’m seeing a recruiter this Sunday I’ve been looking into both branches
@@KingCurt209 I plan on enlisting after I finish my plumbing certification so when I get out I can get into my trade
@limbogt747 the army has jobs that can help you on that path aswell besides infantry, infantry would be good for leadership & resilience building but if you want to get a better paying plumbing job & more certs after your service I'd say look into some jobs the army got in that field instead of infantry. But if you just want to go shoot shit & be a badass I can't blame you brother do what you feel is right!! ✔️
@KingCurt24 well I get my certificate next month so it'll be pointless tbh the mos is 12K I had a hard time finding a vet or someone who is currently a 12k they are rare ig
What's your first duty station?
Fort bliss
@@KingCurt209 cool 😎 enjoy my guy...
