Basically, yes. tbh the US military and any military or any organization relies on a baseline of corruption. "If you don't cheat, you're not trying and if you get caught, you're trying to hard." and so on.
What also gets you kicked out super quick, is if you're a crier. I'm not talking about that EGA ceremony, where some limited emotion is allowed. I'm referring to the occasional marine recruit who breaks down emotionally, and either gets homesick or can't take the stress anymore. I've seen both happen, and these dudes were just taken away and gone as if they never existed. I also had the displeasure of witnessing a fellow recruit in 2nd phase, have a nervous/mental breakdown in the squad bay. He just started screaming & dropped down and flailed about like being possessed by a demon. It took 3 DIs to hold him down, before the MPs & ambulance arrived... Just keep your marbles intact, and you'll make it!
When I went through the Hart Hat DI came the second night in Receiving Barracks and acted real nice, let us ask questions while sitting on the deck. He also asked for a show of hands for who was home sick, etc. Those guys were gone by Training Day 9
@@andrewvalentino1120 That sucks man but better there and we get you out than you go to Afghanistan and do the same thing but now there is a guy shot and the person who is supposed to help is having a panic attack. It what it is, good luck out there
I have never ever done weed once, even coming from a country where it wouldnt affect your record. Its really hard to find someone that didnt do weed ever apparently.
Back in my day 1986 on parris island they asked for all the criminals that believe they need a waiver there was 10 of us that raised our hand ,mine I was not going to be able to pass a uranalist test for drugs . A time of amnesty talked to a captain who made a phone call and got me Waved ,I told the captain that I smoked two tokes on December 31 st, New years eve the only time that I tried it ,obvious like but no problems 3 months later a Marine ooh raah
Both of my son's both enlisted right out of high school and we were talking about this. There are four years apart in age and I was not worried about the youngest as much as I was my oldest. I explained to him that if he stand up and confesses to something he doesn't have to worry about me he needs to worry about being charged for lying on government forms. They both told me stories about the people who stood up during that time to never be seen again.
Yup and you never know what their life ends up being, to this day I always wonder what life would have turned out to be like if I stood up and snitched on myself, it's a crazy thought I think about from time to time. Glad I didn't and ended up deploying as a Marine, still crazy that one simple moment can steal that away/
My #1 tip for not failing boot camp/basic/ect: Speak up if you're injured! I spent an entire year in Army Infantry basic because I injured my right foot and didn't say anything. Instead of speaking up when I realized I hurt myself, I did what I thought would be the 'tough' thing and pushed through what would end up being an enormous amount of pain. Once I realized my right foot was fucked I began favoring the left foot. I did this for about 4 weeks. This ended up with me having multiple broken bones in both feet and two fractured heels. My drill sergeant spotted my swollen ass feet as I was walking to the shower one night and flipped shit on me. I then got the gift of two walking casts and being put on a severely limited training profile and was told that there was no way I would graduate that cycle due to my injuries. I then spent the rest of that cycle as opfor/ammo detail. I went on to about 8 months of physical therapy and graduated a year after I started. So, moral of the story is: speak up if you truly think you're injured. A couple days/weeks on a medical profile or even a recycle is far better than really fucking yourself up and prolonging what should have been a small injury. And yes, I did go on to serve for 7 years as an infantryman and had only a few more foot problems. I still get the "Holy fuck, you spent a YEAR in basic?" comments. If I can do it for a year, anyone can do it for 14 weeks.
DaGreatWatahMelone Also, if you have a combat arms job in the Marine Corps or Army you will probably look back on basic/bootcamp as kind of a joke. All of the truly hard shit comes after basic. Nothing I went through in basic compared to things I did on deployment or in preparation for. If you can look back at your career and say that basic/boot was the hardest part, then you had a very easy career.
Can't join law enforcement if you have an arrest for marijuana, can't join the military...How do the courts expect you to contribute back to society? By being broke and a bum? The system is all sorts of messed up.
Man Falls It's called a revolving door, that's why alot of criminals go back to prison instead of shaping up. They'd rather break the law then have no money
"The Moment of Truth".......absolutely goddam right! Wow! You are spot-on, young man! I went thru MCRD San Diego in 1982 and YES! we lost a shit load of privates that day! Semper Fi and thanks for sharing.
I wasn't impressed by Basic (army 1990). I wasn't homesick because my home life was crap. And the PT was cake because it was easier than the average wrestling practice by a mile. And a DS yelling at you when you know he can't even hit you is a LOT less stressful than an alcoholic dad doing it. No shame on people who found it hard, but I didn't. The only hard thing about the whole 8 weeks was staying awake.
Your experience with bc is a simular to my experience. My youth was hell, at 21 I started driving truck otr, did that for 2.5 yrs. then in 1994 decided to join usmc 0311, was 24 boot camp was a breeze. Use to being beaten verbally. I remember younger18, 19 20yr old guys early on crying in their racks ... me at 24. I was home.
My son went to USAF basic in 2007. After the first week, the senior TI told the recruits that they could fill out paperwork, and go home if they weren’t happy. My son said about 8-9 guys actually fell for it, and spent the next two weeks in hell.
ok guys, they wont kick you out if you smoked weed. they will kick you out if you have a fraudulent enlistment. so, tell your recruiter everything. simple as that.
@Matheus Rosa I don't take any type of Prescription or ever smoked or did any sort of drug..No Injuries Alhamdulillah. No Criminal records..I am all about healthy herbals lol...Chew garlic, spoon of pure honey every morning, chia seeds, Tamarind juice that I make myself, Flex seeds etc....I think I am good to go
So this bring me to a question I need answering to. My recruiter keeps pushing me to lie about my asthma. What should I do? I know there are consequences for lying and all but my asthma isn't that bad honestly, had it when I was a kid but I'm probably gonna go to my doctor to get it rechecked to see if I grew out of it. I honestly just need some advice my recruiter even got pissed and threatened me for not going to meps because I told him if I was going to join I was going to tell the truth about my medical history. I asked him about waivers but he keeps saying I should just lie, he won't even try to help me get a waiver. Everytime I ask him he pushses away from it. He asked me why I'm scared to lie I said because fraudulent enlistment and he said replied with some bs like it's not real, its fake, never happens etc..
@@JannahismyGoal Anytime you lie and enlist under false pretense. Just be honest in your recruiters office. Sometimes if you've done something there are waiver available, but if you lie and they find out later, for instance if you need a security clearance later on, then yes during your background check and interviews they can and do find people that have lied and once that happens you are proper screwed.
I failed the moment of truth because I got scared. Now I live with that shame and guilt everyday. Believe it or not, my recruiter never told us about it. Thank you for making this for the next generation of future marines, they need it.
I know a guy who was admitted to one of our military academies (I won't say which one) and after he was there he admitted that he had smoked pot as a teenager. That caused all kinds of shit to come down on his head and he was going to be kicked out of the academy but his father was a retired high-ranking officer from that service and he was able to pull some strings and got his son a "waiver". The moral of this story is that if you don't have high-level connections you'd be better off keeping your big mouth shut because no good deed goes unpunished.
You mentioned that you knew someone who was sent home because of a hernia. From experience they won't send you home if you want to stay. agree to either be recycled or continue training. DS's are people too and can be reasoned with behind closed doors. If you exemplify "Never accept defeat" mentality then they'll 9/10 go to bat for you.
^^Yes! Great point. The dude I mentioned was told it'd be a few months before they could correct his hernia. He decided that being on the island for 2-3 more months wasn't worth it, so he bailed. Can't blame him though
ClaytonFilpo no I can't haha. For me though I sold all my shit and joined so I needed that free surgery. Oddly enough I was at NTC 3 yrs later I stumbled upon a newly promoted chief she recognized me first and said "how's the hernia?" lol I was so confused til I realized who it was. She's out now but we stay in touch. Small fucking world though.
True, I had a stress fracture and couldn't run. Told my DS and he let slip out on a 5 mile run. He knew I wasn't bull shitin and needed his help. Thanks DS Suarez!
We started with 98 recruits, graduated 87. I went in with a Marijuana waiver, failed my drug test at boot camp, got the results about a month and a half in. My Senior DI called me in his office and told me. Said I was doing good and doesn't think I should be kicked out. Stood up for me and I got another waiver. Ended up graduating with my platoon. It was definitely a scary moment. This was PI 1997.
I'm army, did 19K M1 Armor OSUT at Harmony Church Fort Benning. I was of those unlucky few to spend 16 months instead of 15 weeks, all because of injuries. There were times I wanted to quit but I didn't, how I kept with it was all because of the drills I had, one in particular who fought for me to stay in and motivated me to keep going. It's all mental really, the ability to keep going with it. All you gotta do is keep the goal of becoming a soldier or marine vice gripped to your heart. When you want to quit, you need to think about what life will be on the outside, yeah your parents will be happy to see you but they're gonna get tired of you being around plus you need to boost your ass in finding a job. Good thing for me is I overcame my injuries and was able to pass basic. The moral of this is if keep chasing that dream or goal and not give up...you'll get through it. Honestly there should be no reason for anybody to quit because it's not that hard, I can't say anything about usmc boot camp but for army it's only hard if you make it hard
I had 64 recruits in my platoon. The 3rd day after black friday, we dropped a recruit due to "suicidal thoughts". He really just wanted to get out. We dropped another one who fractured part of his leg during phase 2 hikes, and another recruit right before the Crucible to more "suicidal thoughts". You can get through boot camp. it's really not that hard. Just take care of yourself, and don't do anything stupid that will end up with you breaking something.
Military service used to be mandatory in my country, but they canceled that when I was in college. Playing soldier for 6 months might have been fun. (I'm Eastern European, our communist leaders made it mandatory during the Cold War.)
i told my recruiter I had smoked weed and he said as long as I wasn't still doing it I could sign up, and even then they tried to recruit me pretty heavily.
Wait 6 months from your last consommation. Everyone had been a child influencing once. You must to never take drug... again. But the best drugs are the environment adrenaline(danger zone), muscles/cardio challenges and also a bit of studying in subject you like to watch. Must of children(teenagers) can not find a stimulating environment(free space with funny/safe risks). They dont feel accepted in sports or not playing but only bullying others or being bullying and finally mentally nothing attract their brain/mind. They can not find any personal passion. So the drugs are giving them adrenaline, feel accepted by a special group and passion from drugs effects/addiction. You can be the best of yourself and got pay for it. But you must control your mind now. **You can not control the armies but only yourself. This is also true everywhere else. I'm glad you take this personaly!
M Krump I was actually being serious. My buddy was asked how many times he smoked weed and took a second to answer so they said I warn you now, you can only have smoked weed 9 times. So my friend said well what would you know I've smoked weed exactly 9 times.
Charnt Sabre ... It confirms what the video says! Your friend told something to the recruiter and the instructor ask him the same question ((months later)) and received the same answer from the recruit. Tell the true. But it's not a particular number that counts it's your statement to the recruiter must be valided in training phase of the course which they call the moment of true. I mean the number does not count but it is if you are lying or not.
called a local recruiter and he said "under no circumstances do we accept GEDS"!Sure kids screw up in school. But when that a same kid wants to make amends and earns the GED he or she should not be disqualified. Great videos by the way.
John Kostick It's because if you got a GED it means you dropped out of a school that you're required to go to and it was completely free to get an education. It means you have no discipline.
Yes the moment of truth is real and a lot of people fold up. The military isn't going to look into into your past. I partied like a rockstar in high school and went through my four years enlisted without any issues. I was even promoted to Sgt at the beginning of my third year.
Tell them you smoke weed, and then confess to lying to your drill instructor (because smoking weed was a lie). They will get a good laugh out of it, and furthermore, will appreciate your honesty and ability to lighten the mood in a stressful situation ! If they misinterprit what you said just say "it's just a prank bro" and they'll likely be good sports about it :)
When I went to MEPS, there was a guy who admitted he used to be addicted to perks (Percocet), and there was immediately a huge disappointed sigh from every person in the room. The cool doc that was in there with us walked up to him and said "You just had to ruin today for everybody, didn't you?" and took him out of the room to get more paperwork done. It was so funny to see all the faces he made when they were talking about all the stuff they'd do if you lied. He was sweating like a pig! Haha
Pandoras Flame they can't do shit to him in terms of confinement or UCMJ. He is still technically a civilian until he completes a minimum of 180x consecutive days of active federal service. He may have got sent home, talked to, or bitched at, but, it was more work for the doctor and people working at MEPS than it was for that young man. He would have ended up receiving an Entry Level Separation (ELS). And would have had to re-apply at max, 6 months later. No dishonorable discharge. No Bad Conduct Discharge. No other than Honorable Discharge. Just an ELS.
I tried to join Army, told Meps I took medication despite my recruiter telling me to Lie. Ended up having to wait two years and Army Recruiters avoiding me like the black plague. Ended up going Marines I am being sent out on March to Paris Island.
when I enlisted in 2002 for the Canadian Forces they asked I said yes when I was younger they said don't do it again and a few months later I was shipped to basic lol
bentheconservative you've watched to much marihuana propaganda. Marijuana is not completely safe but it was nowhere near as dangerous as alcohol. About 30,000 people a year die from alcohol, 0 ever died from marijuana ever. Alcohol is physically addictive marijuana is not. Alcohol negatively affects your coordination and motor skills, marijuana does not. Alcohol lowers your inhibitions makes you more likely to make bad decisions, marijuana does the opposite as it's very introspective. The say the two are just as dangerous as indicative of severe, willful ignorance
***** there can be some dangerous effects from marijuana, but they are far and few between, and nothing when compared to alcohol. For example people with a certain genetic marker are more susceptible to schizophrenia after smoking marijuana. Of course, that is a very rare occurrence. Data also suggest that exposure to marijuana before your prefrontal cortex has completely developed can inhibit the development of your brain and cognitive abilities such as memory. Its obviously no where near as dangerous as alcohol though
Chris J me to my recruiter said when I told him that he was like " RIGHT good say you never smoked that's good" I was like nah really I never smoked weed again he was like "RIGHT" hahahaha Man
I have a few videos that sort of hit on it. Basically, just bring your small address book, maybe a few stamps, and your wallet and whatnot. Your recruiter will remind you of all this over and over, not to worry! good question
ClaytonFilpo Sorry, I am currently employed. My job is to watch recommended videos and make sure TH-cam's view algorithm is working properly. To my best understanding, I came across your video because I was watching relatable content otherwise this video would've never been found. This concludes that TH-cam's algorithm is working properly. If you have any issues please feel free to contact me via your mums number. Thanks!
Yep, just as long as it's not in your system when you arrive or when you're on duty/work. You have to be competent for duty or they will/can take you to medical/base hospital and draw your blood and get a blood alcohol level. If it's too high and I'm not talking the limit to drive (0.08-0.10) but like 0.02 you can be punished.....Office hours, captain's mast, Article 15 hearing, or even a Courts Martial depending on what your MOS is or what you're doing at the time. Different services call their non-judicial punishment (NJP) different things.
I joined the Army on 21NOV97 and was completely honest about my drug use prior to joining. When it comes to getting a TS clearance, the investigators are looking for the truth. Due to where I worked my last 9 years in the Army, I was required to be able to obtain a TS-SCI clearance. From experience, is best to be upfront about your past. The investigators will more than likely dismiss your references and ask them who else they can talk to. If you're found not being truthful, you'll more than likely be rejected a clearance. If you knew my past, you'd probably wonder how I was able to get a TS clearance. The truth will set you free.
Thanks for the vid Mr. Filpo. When I went to basic, we had two suicide attempts, two AWOLS, a tattoo issue, a freak-out in the gas chamber, and 1 guy made it thru basic but lost his marbles in AIT.
Just went through MEPS. Lol, seriously one of the funniest days of my life. I began the process via Fort Hamilton. All the coordinators and liaisons were awesome and inviting, they really transform a place that is supposed to be stressful and nerve wrecking into a place that is inviting and hilarious. I’m in the process of becoming a reservist in the Coast Guard and boy it’s an exciting step. I read online that in Bootcamp for the Coast Guard their cut rate is 20%. So 1 out of 5 will be cut out. It goes like this, be mentally and physically prepared and you should be alright. Keep up the good work Clayton.
Yes you they can separate you for medical reasons. I had a neighbor who is a retired Navy doctor. He worked at MCRD in San Diego, he discharged a fair share of recruits for medical reasons IE diabetes, emotional problems, urine test showed marijuana or some recruit drank something that was on a cart and had opium, on the first day of arrival a recruit collapsed after leaving the chow hall and he was the attending doctor who had him transported to Balboa Park Navy Hospital. He was not up to the challenge.
The worst is if you think everything's fine and then after a little shakedown via physical activity a problem pops up. I imagine it feels like a self betrayal.
This did help and I know you will pass bootcamp if you just keep pushing no matter how badly you wanna quit, DIs want ppl who keep pushing through even if they are physically exhausted
When I joined the Navy I thought that bootcamp was going to be all the horror stories that you hear about. It was so incredibly easy. Even the recruiter (who was a good guy who I respected) told me that it was going to be a very simple weeding out process. He told me that only complete idiots have a hard time with boot camp. He said the Navy does not make you go through all that crap in the movies. Well it turns out that he was right. So if you are a younger guy who is thinking about going through the process....don't be afraid of any of it. For eight short weeks you have to get treated like a little bit of a knucklehead. But what I did was try to see the humor in it. I found the whole thing was kind of amusing and left bootcamp an E-3.
Im planning on joining Marines once I get out of high school. Thanks for letting me know this. Ive never smoked weed and never will smoke at all due to childhood asthma and no desire anyways. But now the only thing Im worried about is the ASVAB, Im an As and occasional B or B+ student, but its a two hour test, of course im gonna be concerned, I mean I just want to be an infantry marine, so I dont know how well I need to do.
BetterNerfJeff I told my recruiter (back in 2011) that I smoked a little in the past. he said "so you've never smoked weed before?" I said yep. the recruiter will do almost anything he can to get you in plus they have waivers for almost anything imaginable, don't sweat it.
TheLegend27 as long as ur not pissing green urine at meps your cool don't mention it if your not smoking and if you are quit wait 90 days to be safe then speak to a recruiter
You have been a key part in me getting through Meps I am now a poolee in the DEP program I leave in December and I was hoping you would make a video on getting in shape for boot
Be straight up with your recruiter. Especially the Marine ones(my only experience btw but I'm assuming most recruiters are the same). Here's how it goes. You tell them everything then the recruiter tells you that when you go to meps tell them the opposite of what you told him. And don't get scared at meps and tell them something your recruiter told you not to. All throughout meps they're gonna tell you that you're gonna go to prison if you lie. Simple fact is if you don't have a government controlled health care they can't look through your records unless you sign a paper saying they can.(they don't give you this paper at meps) and one more thing to keep in mind is the doctors at meps are trying to disqualify you. The more people they disqualify the more they get paid. So tell your recruiter everything then keep your mouth shut.
your video is not bad but it is confusing and i believe contradicting. because you said that you do not want to admit to something like smoking weed at the moment of truth but then you want to be honest and tell the truth. I really think you should clearify this.
thank you first off for the reply and secondly for willing to clearify the topic. i will subscribe to you and turn on the notifications because i am interested in this topic.
i felt it was fine it was obvious he said stay sitted in boot camp but be honest with your recruiter before boot camp cause being honest after going to boot camp will cause more harm than good
I'm a Junior in high school and have been working with the recruiters to get the best area I can in my future in the military. And this video just saved me a future heart attack.
don't admit to anything. If the remote chance of getting polygraphed ever happens, you take the test, continue lying, and insist you are telling the truth. They can't use a polygraph failure by itself for anything other than denying you some level of secret clearance(in which case you still can stay in the military) but if they have a failed polygraph AND a confession of lying, they can then possibly discharge you from the military. Just decide early, before you ever sign up- what you are going to admit doing, and STICK WITH THAT COME HELL OR HIGH WATER. Anything else can turn and bite you in the buttocks.
its still federally illegal. The states do not have the right to say its legal. If a federal officer seen you smoking weed in a state that allows it you can still go to jail
Although it may be legal in certain states, it's still technically a federal law that smoking weed is illegal. Doesn't matter where you were when you did it, you still could be disqualified.
It's against you but just let you know historical facts and the story repeat by itself. I knew a friend who had thought the same think. But 10 years later he never did anything. You must have passion on something but drugs are corrupting your sens of passions to always turn back on old habits.
Marijuana is not illegal because it's dangerous; it's dangerous because it's illegal. Of course someone who smokes pot can't succeed when they aren't given a chance.
I remember the day before I shipped GySgt granger, who was the ncoic of the Spokane wa rss took me into a room and asked me all the questions and I told him truthfully that I hadn't done any drugs,he then said stick to my story.he told me about the moment of truth and said to stay seated.i remember it well,we were processing and wed had no sleep for 34 hrs and they marched us into a room and said,"come clean here,we can set the record straight and you can move on,but lie and youll get 5 years in Leavenworth.the sgt in the theatre used scare tactics and 10 of our privates stood, all 10 were discharged.the truth was, that SSgt did not have a list of our platoon names,he merely waited for the gullible to stand and then took their names.
I was 0231 in the Marine Corps (Intel Analyst). I smoked weed twice in high school. I was honest with the recruiter, it was recorded on my application, and I still got my top secret clearance. the limit WAS 5 times... this was 2004. If you tried more than 5x... no TSC/SCI.
My friend joined the marines and is back from boot camp, and he still posts pics of himself smoking weed lmao. Its all a scare tactic guys, they could honestly give a fuck if you smoked weed.
He might had to follow medical tests and they will find out if he's just posting cool(17 years old badass) or been under drugs influences. I have no clue of what marines do with these guys... One sure thing is they will always fine a nice story to tell.
M Krump he's 18 and he smokes, a lot, I can vouch for that since I smoked with him a lot, so either the marines really don't give a fuck or he's making someone piss for him lmao
They lied 🤥 and scared me during moment of truth fresh out of HS. He asked if I ever smoked & when the last time I smoked? I told him yes and his response was “sorry son the marines not for you maybe you should try the Army.”
Pira how do they make any money from putting people in jail. They have to feed them house them and basically pay for them to live rent free while being monitored. You fucking idiot
Sentry SS it opens up another part of the brain that enhances your reflexes and your ability to comprehend and understand certain things. It basically makes most people a lot more smarter. (Notice I said MOST, not ALL). And the government doesn't want people to be able to think about a lot of certain shit so they illegalized to stop people from being smart, and from asking questions
I was sitting here nervous as hell because I have definitely smoked weed before and had to remind myself that I had zero intentions of joining the military
So wait , say if I wanted to join the military (I have smoked weed more than once) should I be honest and say yes I have smoked weed or lie and say no ?
Holographic Games I was honest with the recruiter about weed even though I was sure I didn't have it in my system he just said to lie when they ask at meps
Holographic Games always say no I'm an e-2 I just joined and finished bct and they don't do back grounds, joining is like a clean slate they don't give a fuck about your past only what your willing to bring to the table in the future
ClaytonFilpo lie. If they would've checked my history of medical issues I wouldn't have been accepted. I passed no issue. The point is they won't check if they don't have to.
I bet they just want to “weed” out the people who will snitch when under pressure.
I think it's more about dedication. If they really wanna be there they won't rat themselves out, especially so soon.

TheDudeofDudes Nice
TheDudeofDudes It's only 14 weeks?
DaGreatWatahMelone Yeah, infantry osut is 14 weeks. It is longer if you go to a special skills school(javelin, airborne, ect)
TheDudeofDudes it's called basic for a reason. it is the lowest level and it still took you that long to figure it out lol
Exactly...Many people join the service to get away from that lifestyle, to make a new start....
Man Falls Norway ( at least I think Norway) sends you to a rehabilitation program/center and is not focused on punishment.
Man Falls sorry, being a crackhead wasn't a good decision, good luck.
Daryl S Marijuana isn't crack. You're wack.
"The Moment of Truth".......absolutely goddam right! Wow! You are spot-on, young man! I went thru MCRD San Diego in 1982 and YES! we lost a shit load of privates that day! Semper Fi and thanks for sharing.
To be fair they weren't privates they were recruits, far different.
@@bigbay1159 When he went through Recruits were referred to as "Privates".
@@aplatinumorange5112 You're an E-1 and getting paid so......
In 1982, at MCRD, they were recruits. You are not a Private until you graduate.
I'm 17 years now and i've been thinking of joining for 2 years now, i want to do it because if i don't. it will be somethig i'll regret later on
Junior Salazar I'm 17 as well. And thinking about joining the marines. What branch are you wanting to join?
Miguel Aleman. Marines Brother, God will write the rest
Junior Salazar im 17 also, leave for boot camp next month
Junior Salazar I’m 17 and am also thinking about enlisting in the marines
Lol I'm 17 rn and I'm thinking about Army
rainbow six in the backround
Favorite line from this video "And then everything goes downhill" the truest statement I've heard.
Downhill fast 😂😂
I wasn't impressed by Basic (army 1990). I wasn't homesick because my home life was crap. And the PT was cake because it was easier than the average wrestling practice by a mile. And a DS yelling at you when you know he can't even hit you is a LOT less stressful than an alcoholic dad doing it.
No shame on people who found it hard, but I didn't. The only hard thing about the whole 8 weeks was staying awake.
Respects to you man.
I thought they do hit you
@@Americanspy-hn2kw nah that hasn't been a thing since the Vietnam days
WOW, your'e my friggin hero. Did you walk uphill both ways to school in the driving snow and rain?
Your experience with bc is a simular to my experience. My youth was hell, at 21 I started driving truck otr, did that for 2.5 yrs. then in 1994 decided to join usmc 0311, was 24 boot camp was a breeze. Use to being beaten verbally. I remember younger18, 19 20yr old guys early on crying in their racks ... me at 24. I was home.
i'm on a bus right now headed to Fort Jackson! soooo nervous right now
Yodagaming so you're in boot camp still right now.
Just graduated from
Jackson last month
Yodagaming he hasn't spoken in so long I'm thinking he didn't live through it 😂
Kyle Kulinski's Black Son yo he dead.
Ahhh relaxin Jackson... then you have NOTHING to be worried about
My son went to USAF basic in 2007. After the first week, the senior TI told the recruits that they could fill out paperwork, and go home if they weren’t happy. My son said about 8-9 guys actually fell for it, and spent the next two weeks in hell.
All this emphasis on Weed… what if you're a Cokehead?
Drug screen is for THC, cocaine, various opiates and various amphetamines.
John-Michael Barnhill coc os out of you in 3-5 days. youll be fine
Not for Benzos?
+Kumiho fox what if u don't tell them that u smoked once in ur life time
If you cannot go clean and sober you really do not have any business in the US military.

Beasty Video Guider lol
+Nick G I lost $40 on that game lol
Beasty's Fake Account Seriously. That was so stupid
Go pats!
ok guys, they wont kick you out if you smoked weed. they will kick you out if you have a fraudulent enlistment. so, tell your recruiter everything. simple as that.
Boom!
What is Fraudulent Enlistment?
I smoke beers. Am i ok?
Foil yes, just let ur recruiter know 😅
smoke hops?
Foil i inject weed,
BlackTarMemes I snorted weed
Foil You good. I snorted beer and I'm fine
I failed the moment of truth because I got scared. Now I live with that shame and guilt everyday. Believe it or not, my recruiter never told us about it. Thank you for making this for the next generation of future marines, they need it.
Damn. I can't believe your recruiter didn't say anything. What a dummy!
You know I really can't blame him. I got scared, but part of me felt like they were bullshitting us, so in the end it's on me.
Lars Russell lol why'd you admit to it
I know a guy who was admitted to one of our military academies (I won't say which one) and after he was there he admitted that he had smoked pot as a teenager.
ClaytonFilpo that rule about not being able to go to meps for 3 months if having admitted to smoking weed, is this in affect?
Ethix Higgins that's bullshit. u really can't believe shit u hear unless you've done your own research and talked to a recruiter.
Has anyone mentioned yet that this guy sounds just like Badger from Breaking Bad?
Holy shit he really does!
PFC_Murphy it's harder if you blow out your shoulder and nearly break your neck, btw.
How does that even happen .......Jeezz is it really that hard I ship out April 16th
Is it a shit mos?
I was at Harmony Church too, also 1-81. Who were your drill sergeants?
I had 64 recruits in my platoon. The 3rd day after black friday, we dropped a recruit due to "suicidal thoughts". He really just wanted to get out. We dropped another one who fractured part of his leg during phase 2 hikes, and another recruit right before the Crucible to more "suicidal thoughts".
You can get through boot camp. it's really not that hard. Just take care of yourself, and don't do anything stupid that will end up with you breaking something.
Military service used to be mandatory in my country, but they canceled that when I was in college. Playing soldier for 6 months might have been fun.
(I'm Eastern European, our communist leaders made it mandatory during the Cold War.)
hell yeah forced enlistment, i had to go through that shit, funny time looking back but i hated every single day i had to be there
i told my recruiter I had smoked weed and he said as long as I wasn't still doing it I could sign up, and even then they tried to recruit me pretty heavily.
I'm glad you take this personaly!
degen83 you can only smoke weed to a maximum of 9 times or else meps won't accept you.
Charnt Sabre
I'm serious and you are not... That's unacceptable!
hahaha and 9.5 times is over the maximum haha Trolling all over the interweb.
M Krump I was actually being serious. My buddy was asked how many times he smoked weed and took a second to answer so they said I warn you now, you can only have smoked weed 9 times. So my friend said well what would you know I've smoked weed exactly 9 times.
Charnt Sabre
My cousin left me at Boot Camp by speaking up at the moment of truth. lol
Was it your cousin that got you to join the military because that would be one cold SOB!
DARKSIDE FOR LIFE. Boy tricked you
DARKSIDE FOR LIFE damn bro 😂
DARKSIDE FOR LIFE. What do you mean?
your cousin dropped your ass and said deuces lol XD
Ah yes, my favorite pastime is injecting the marijuanas
I got clean ones..
called a local recruiter and he said "under no circumstances do we accept GEDS"!Sure kids screw up in school. But when that a same kid wants to make amends and earns the GED he or she should not be disqualified. Great videos by the way.
You can get in with a GED now
you can only get in with GED if you've taken college courses
Shame you didnt "make amends" where and when it counted. Like so many others have.
Victor Palacio you can get in with a ged and a job corps trade
John Kostick It's because if you got a GED it means you dropped out of a school that you're required to go to and it was completely free to get an education.
It means you have no discipline.
It's the drug test before bootcamp that sends a lot of people home.
Yes the moment of truth is real and a lot of people fold up. The military isn't going to look into into your past. I partied like a rockstar in high school and went through my four years enlisted without any issues. I was even promoted to Sgt at the beginning of my third year.
Also the drug test at MCT/ITB after the 10 day leave.
Stephen 1982 what kinda test do they take bc I haven't smoked in about 3 months
Thank you. My son is in week 5 at Ft Benning. I finally am able to watch some videos to see what he's doing OMG 😁
Alejandro Ruiz lies
Alejandro Ruiz or you'll be given intense training
This sounds like an excellent way to land yourself extra push-ups... lots of them
Alejandro Ruiz lol
Indoor Tennis!
Haha
Pandoras Flame and that's why I've lied since the day I was born no shame in it
Pandoras Flame they can't do shit to him in terms of confinement or UCMJ.
Randy Patterson Canada...
D watson dude weed does like jack shit
Randy Patterson This is why canada has really autistic politics, and laws.
ANx3h yet that's why we're one of the most respected countries in the world...
Randy Patterson
That's pretty ironic. lol
its absurd the military cares if you smoked weed once and will boot you out for it.
Matthew Van Helden Air Force allows you to join even if you previously smoked weed
Yeah I know, alcohol is more dangerous than weed like wtf
bentheconservative you've watched to much marihuana propaganda.
***** hmm thats interesting.
As I stepped on the yellow foot prints , I was like “ damn , why didn’t I choice the gangsta life “
back in 97 i wss told to tell MEPS no,no, and never lol
I'm glad I don't smoke lol
Chris J me to my recruiter said when I told him that he was like " RIGHT good say you never smoked that's good" I was like nah really I never smoked weed again he was like "RIGHT" hahahaha Man

Spartan 04 haha same thing happened to me 😂
I am about to leave for Boot Camp in 2 days, thank you so so much for the advice bro! Appreciate it! :)
Smil3 how did it go ?
Supremeballerz Yeah why do you care
What happened?
Rudy9627 believe it or not there are some of us that still care about others. Try it some time.

Good tip thank you very much, please do a "what to bring to bootcamp" video please so I don't bring shit that just gets shipped away for 12 weeks
Just clothes, ID, and not much else
Broskie you get a book with all that stuff once you enlist, although it says to not bring electronic devices so it's probably an old book
I have a few videos that sort of hit on it. Basically, just bring your small address book, maybe a few stamps, and your wallet and whatnot. Your recruiter will remind you of all this over and over, not to worry! good question
Broskie don't bring shit except your wallet and phone. You get to keep your wallet the phone is for your first phone call.
Why is this in my recommended???
LMFAO!!!!!!
Good thing I never smoked weed in my life.
Why most people fail boot camp is a better non-clickbait title.
I need to hire you as my clickbait consultant

ClaytonFilpo Sorry, I am currently employed. My job is to watch recommended videos and make sure TH-cam's view algorithm is working properly. If you have any issues please feel free to contact me via your mums number. Thanks!
So I can be a total drunk and that's kosher?
Ram Stones Of course, you'll fit right in to the Marine Corps
I've never smoked weed. Proud of it to.
Nama i have hundreds of times. i didn’t tell them, though. i knew there was know way they would find out.
Same!!
oh. shit i have been thinking of joining but now im scared because i have smoked weed. frequently. that moment of truth shit is scary.
***** do they do the moment of truth for just regular military training?
***** so yes?
Why the hell would you join the military? don't you need to keep an eye on Ricky?
JARXAVIER2112 fuck them and his shitty hash. i got myself a dab rig now.
*YOU. GET. PISS. TESTED*
Thanks for the vid Mr. Filpo. When I went to basic, we had two suicide attempts, two AWOLS, a tattoo issue, a freak-out in the gas chamber, and 1 guy made it thru basic but lost his marbles in AIT.
Some (some) of the funniest days in the Corps were in boot.
I don't have a clue why I'm watching this but ok
You don't get "kicked out" for medical reasons. And nobody smokes weed "one time".
I have a friend he got kick out for weed out the army when he got tested
Only thing im worried about is swim qualification and i cant swim 🤦♂️ leaving next week
The worst is if you think everything's fine and then after a little shakedown via physical activity a problem pops up. I imagine it feels like a self betrayal.
what do you tell them if it's legal in your state and your old enough to drink and smoke.
Yep. What lonely said.
ClaytonFilpo so basically u are saying if I smoked once I can't be in the military?
Anthony Yomama doesn't matter military is federal
Glide Neptune stay seated u get piss tested anyway
ClaytonFilpo if weed was legalized nationwide (i.e as legal as alcohol) would recruiters still blacklist people who smoke marijuana legally?
"What's up everybody it's your boy" that's how far I made it into this video.
This did help and I know you will pass bootcamp if you just keep pushing no matter how badly you wanna quit, DIs want ppl who keep pushing through even if they are physically exhausted
"It's ya boy-"
**Exits video**
**leaves comment**
Haha, you must have been thinking of USMC bootcamp
Im planning on joining Marines once I get out of high school. Thanks for letting me know this. Ive never smoked weed and never will smoke at all due to childhood asthma and no desire anyways. But now the only thing Im worried about is the ASVAB, Im an As and occasional B or B+ student, but its a two hour test, of course im gonna be concerned, I mean I just want to be an infantry marine, so I dont know how well I need to do.
so if you try it one time when you were alot younger and you tell them your out? thats fuckin stupid.
lol weed is so bad you try it once it fucks your brain up for the rest of your life... oh wait no it doesn't
Stanley Sanders lol seriously this is common sense I can't believe they actually get people like this
Yea people are paranoid for nothing
one of my best friends joined the Marines and is passing boot camp soon, I'm really proud of him because he's the most squirrelly kid I know.
What the fuck? Badger stopped selling meth?
IT'S TIME TO COOK
You have been a key part in me getting through Meps I am now a poolee in the DEP program I leave in December and I was hoping you would make a video on getting in shape for boot
Glad to hear this has helped man. Be sure to go through my military playlist to get all my videos on the matter, including fitness!
Love it how there is rainbow 6 on his computer
I livestream tons of RB6 Siege, PUBG, and CoD:MWR on my youtube channel each night. Stop on by!
ClaytonFilpo I love rainbow 6
Absolutely. It's a sketchy topic, and I'll make a video today clarifying why I was so vague
thank you first off for the reply and secondly for willing to clearify the topic.
i will subscribe to you and turn on the notifications because i am interested in this topic.
Thanks bro!
your welcome dude.
i felt it was fine it was obvious he said stay sitted in boot camp but be honest with your recruiter before boot camp cause being honest after going to boot camp will cause more harm than good
I'm a Junior in high school and have been working with the recruiters to get the best area I can in my future in the military. And this video just saved me a future heart attack.
You can't be in the military if you've smoked weed?

it shows you care.,
bless you
Thanks for the kind words!
don't admit to anything.
^honesty is not rewarded in this twisted, corrupt world.
So smoking weed twice 4 years ago in a state where it is legal disqualifies you?
its still federally illegal. The states do not have the right to say its legal. If a federal officer seen you smoking weed in a state that allows it you can still go to jail
Medic 42689 dude just say you've never smoked weed
Although it may be legal in certain states, it's still technically a federal law that smoking weed is illegal. Doesn't matter where you were when you did it, you still could be disqualified.
“I smoked week 6 times in my life”
whatever you did before the military shouldn't even matter anymore. I still smoke weed but if I do enlist, I can stop easily. it's not a big deal.
It's against you but just let you know historical facts and the story repeat by itself.
I knew a friend who had thought the same think. But 10 years later he never did anything.
You must have passion on something but drugs are corrupting your sens of passions to always turn back on old habits.
M Krump yeah I know but if I had to stop smoking to pursue my passion, it wouldn't be a problem. I'm not doing shit atm so it doesn't really matter.
It's not to hurt you but it's A slow way to die.
You already know it so!
Reckless Strawberry Please. Please don't enlist. We don't need crap sacks.
I'm proud to say I survived standing during the moment of truth 😅
*nervously wipes sweat off forehead*
Phew I’m good. Never smoked weed in my life. I’m so excited to start my military career!
ZaneCRUZE ... That still sound loser. But It's not your problem and not much mine.
ZaneCRUZE Tell your friend to stop or he can kiss the Marines goodbye.
i'm sure if he gets caught he gets a world of hurt, and everyone in his unit gets a drug test
Awesome video bud! I say hooah!! Haha very informative
They lied 🤥 and scared me during moment of truth fresh out of HS. He asked if I ever smoked & when the last time I smoked? I told him yes and his response was “sorry son the marines not for you maybe you should try the Army.”
Nervous to fall asleep during class cause I'm so tired. Was already passing out in high school, don't know how I'm gonna do boot camp!
Somebody got kicked out for having a bad drug test. We took a drug test like on day 2
Thank you for holding your tongue and serving your country with that moment of truth BS.
why do they always ask about weed? what about underage drinking, petty theft, etc. why is it always weed
because 'merica
Sean Haggard I feel like it's a test.
I have no interest in joining the military I don’t know why I keep watching these😂
Hopefully it's a little interesting and informative!! Much love for watching man
Like I heard in the office, “When you get to boot camp, whatever you’ve got you don’t have anymore”
If I’ve injected the marijuana once or twice, will i be bared from joining the usmc or army?
You need to read some lines from Jimmy in GTA 5 man 😂😂 good video though man informative
I literally get this comment all the time. That or jonah hill for some reason.
During boot camp the most important thing is to be yourself which means smile and laugh and relax. Don’t try to be something you are not.
Why is weed so demonized?
because govnt makes shit loads for jailing and trafficking.
Pira how do they make any money from putting people in jail. They have to feed them house them and basically pay for them to live rent free while being monitored. You fucking idiot
Evan Orth how do they make money from jailing people? The prison industry is a fucking INDUSTRY my dude
Sentry SS I'm assuming because of watch standing, and because its not federally legal and will never be legal for military
Was planing to joining the guard. Would smoking weed in the past prevent me from becoming military police?
I had no problem being honest with my recruiter. My problem was that my recruiter was not honest with me.
I was sitting here nervous as hell because I have definitely smoked weed before and had to remind myself that I had zero intentions of joining the military
So wait , say if I wanted to join the military (I have smoked weed more than once) should I be honest and say yes I have smoked weed or lie and say no ?
Be honest! Check this video out: th-cam.com/video/O_Pf7yp_vDs/w-d-xo.html
Holographic Games I was honest with the recruiter about weed even though I was sure I didn't have it in my system he just said to lie when they ask at meps
Tell ur recruiter u did but not meps
Holographic Games always say no I'm an e-2 I just joined and finished bct and they don't do back grounds, joining is like a clean slate they don't give a fuck about your past only what your willing to bring to the table in the future
ClaytonFilpo lie. If they would've checked my history of medical issues I wouldn't have been accepted. I passed no issue. The point is they won't check if they don't have to.
