      Roger that. I was supply in my first enlistment. Stationed in Panama. Worked in the Motor Pool ordering and issuing vehicle parts. I was a 71M Chaplains Assistant my second enlistment. Oh yes...I had to go through Basic a second time. That was not fun! Lol Thanks for responding J. Have a blessed Sunday

    Enlisted in the Army in 1996 and did basic training at Ft. Jackson and was a part of Delta 2/13, and my MOS was 91B. From Ft Jackson I went to San Antonio, TX for AIT at Ft. Sam Houston. I was a highly motivated, highly dedicated Soldier Medic and I was reminded of that everytime at lunch when only 5 people at a time could enter the chow hall. By the way, I was assigned to Alpha 2/32.
    Fast forward to almost 4 years and in the middle of my enlistment I transferred to the Air Force. I talked so much trash in regards to the "Chair" Force until I started doing joint missions with them. The women wore makeup, could wear pearl, cubid zirconia or gold earrings, had french manicures and just overall looked waaaaay better than we beat up, dragged through the mud women of the Army Lol! Anywho, after talking to an Air Force female instructor after a joint class I was in, I asked tons of questions and immediately saw the light and joined the Air Force. Since I was already in the medical field I enlisted in the Air Force and my AFSC was X4N01 which was a flight medic. I traveled the world and had a great experience. When my Army injuries (bad shoulders and knees) I decided to reclassed into the 3S career field (Military Personnel). I got to work for OSI, DIA, and also worked in J1 The Joint Chiefs of Staff at the Pentagon. I got to escort the remaining Tuskegee Airmen while at the Pentagon and talked to president Obama as he was playing golf at Andrews AFB, I even took a photo of him. I've made lifelong friends and as of July 4, 2022 I retired from the Air Force with 27 total years of service. I always kept the mentality while in uniform that it wasn't my right to be in the service, it was a PRIVILEGE to serve in the Military.

      Went to Delta 2-13 sept 12 2023 and left for B co 232 dec 1, 2023. Spent the entirety of december as a holdunder with Alpha company 232 waiting for holiday block leave, and once we got back we picked up with Bravo. I would've been with Alpha if 120th AG wasn't delayed (ended up being there 10 days total, and Alpha 232 picked up about 5 days before my bus got there)
      Kind of crazy we took the same path just different times haha. Now 91B is identified as 68W, and I'm also a medic.
      Apparently Dahmer was an Alpha Gator, not sure how true that is. I'm curious if you've heard the same rumor.
      Eventually I want to transfer to the Air Force, but I want to be a pilot and need to go to college first. The Army is a way for me to get the GI bill, get to experience the green Army-man stuff I wanted to as a kid, and open the door to the military and see if I like it in the first place.
      Anyways, I think it's cool we have so many similarities, and I hope you have a good one

    Do you only have 5 minutes to eat during chow at BCT? According to Wikipedia, lights out is at 2100, and PT starts at 0430. Do you only get to sleep at 2100? What do you spend your "free time" on during the last bit of time before the end of each day?

    • @j.madison
      @j.madison  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      We are supposed to get 15min but sometimes depending on the size of your company it’s less. But you will always eat no matter what! And yes lights out is 2100 and PT start time depends. From what I can remember wake up was 04:30/05:00 and then we had PT just before the flag went off at 06:30 and then breakfast right after.
      My free time was full of writing letters and talking to my battles. Fostering those new relationships and caring for the relationships I had back home were on the top of my todo list in basic. As much as I don’t like people I enjoy deep/intellectual connections. For other people it was sleep, journaling, meditating, working out, reading the Bible etc. it’s only about 2 hrs and you have to be purposeful with how you spend it.

      Of course! The main thing is to just build by our endurance about a month or two before you leave for BCT. The last 2 weeks try to take it easy and don’t overwork yourself. The one thing I wish I would’ve worked on was my push-up. After you learn how to do one good push-up the rest come easy. Also running will be very beneficial because we run a lot in the army in general. I still don’t like it to this day lol but it’s something I have to do. Other than that it’s all mental. How was the basic training for you? You considere it's safe for women due to all the reports of sexual abuse that have existed, and besides this, how women generally do when they have is menstrual period? Do they give you any kind of hormones to stop it? I am really interesting to apply but I concerned about that !! What advice will you give me

    • @j.madison
      @j.madison  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Basic honestly was not that bad. As far as sexual assault they gave us a lot of SHARP trainings and took it very seriously when/if it did happen. They don’t really allow birth control in BCT but if it’s affecting you then they might give it to you but it’s a case by case (or at least that was my experience)
