He would be able, upright, very upright, obedient, gentle, and not conceited; Be contented and easy to support, have few duties and live a simple life, and be with calm faculties, prudent, not impudent and not greedily attached to families. He would not do the slightest thing, by which others who are wise would censure him. Well and secure may all beings be; may all beings be happy at heart. Whatever living beings there are, feeble or strong, without exception, long or great, medium, short, small or fat (round), those seen or unseen, living far or near; those born or seeking birth-may all beings be happy at heart. Another (i. e. One) would not deceive another, He would not despise anyone anywhere. Through anger or hateful perception, for one another He would not wish suffering. Just as a mother (her) own child, ( her) only child, would protect with (her) life; thus also ,towards all beings, he would develop the boundless mind. With loving-kindness towards the whole world, he would develop the boundless mind; above, below and across, unrestricted, without enmity or hostility. While standing, walking, seated, or lying down, as long as he is free from drowsiness, he would determine this mindfulness-this is a divide living here, they say. Not having arrived at a (wrong) view, being virtuous and posseed of vision, and having discarded attachment to sensuality, he never again returns to lying in a womb.
