What a lovely gent Chris comes across as being. I’ve always thought that for all of Dave Grohl’s natural musicianship Chris was the “proper” guitar player that the Foo Fighters needed in the band.
I have a bone to pick with you guys though… a sub-25 minute TPS video?! How dare you give me 45 minutes of my weekend back?!! It’s totally unacceptable!! 😡😡😡😜

Even though there is a difference in feel and I might get a lot of hate for saying this, I'm really starting to think that ampless rigs are the better option now - at least for shows and home use. The best guitar sounds at the concerts that I've been to in the last few years have usually been the ones without an actual amp. Under perfect conditions in a studio, there might still be a small difference, but any decently set up DI rig will sound better than a miced up cabinet on a noisy stage.

Excellent video and great material information guys! 🙏🏻It’s amazing how good sounds the Wampler Tumnus into the Strymon Iridium. ( digital amp)

I use an iridium for home demo’s, and I’m beginning to move away from the character it imparts on the guitar sound. Despite having a board full of Strymon pedals, almost exclusively. Weirdly, I hear that same character here, through a front of house PA, ambient mics, and TH-cam compression stuff. I’m excited for VCQ’s to hear how you felt it stacked up for live use, while you were stood on the stage at volume.
Of course, needless to say Chris is getting some great sounds here.

Yeah, thank you for that, just watched after getting home from work.
I have been a big fan of Foos for all of my guitar playing life, they were the first songs I learnt(or my cousin taught me) when I was 15/16yrs old. I've folllowed the various rigs he(and Dave) has used over the years (The Bassman/AC30 combination was the best, imo, Wasting Light tour).
But one question has never been asked or answered, that if you catch up with Chris(OR Dave, when he gets jelous of Chris' new rig and wants to bend your ear) ........ I would like to request you ask them......
Who's were the green socks? Nate's right? I only wear green socks for gig days now, because of Dave mentioning a pair of green socks that were on the bus, nobody knew who's they were, but everyone had worn them at some point?? .... Thanks in advance, :-D
