I remember renting this from Blockbuster and crying when my parents returned it. They bought me the Gameboy Advance version and I was unamused.

slippery doorknob - ah, I remember those days. Getting the handheld version of the console game and your parents not understanding the two versions only share the same name and nothing else. Made me mad, especially when I asked for American wasteland for Christmas one year only to open up the game boy version when Santa came. I think most parents just fell for the handheld game marketing at the time, and weren’t savvy enough to understand that a handheld game is not just a small version of the console version you play on a real TV. A lot of parent probably thought they’d ere actually buying the “cooler” version because handheld games were marketed heavy at the time.

it's insane how much high quality videos you keep putting out on a regular basis! great work. When you talked about the weird names for the tricks because they could be offensive I started to ask myself where the name bluntslide/shuvit came from, and who named it. Might be interesting to do a video about these things since I couldn't find a clear answer on that directly, and it seems like something interesting. Keep up the good work!

Not sure if it would be DLC since back when THPS 4 came out the ESRB ratings system was really starting to get taken seriously by parents and mainstream media. Back then, a T for teen rating wouldve been taken more seriously than it is now. I knew kids growing up who literally were not even allowed to look at the box art at GameStop for any game that was rated T, and we’re not allowed to play anything with the rating Until they got into high school. I think this was an attempt by activision to simply make a “mom approved” skateboarding game. THPS 4 was likely too inappropriate for a lot of moms to let their 10 year olds or younger play. The THPS games were made for potheads, skaters or soon to be potheads and skaters. I mean, I was playing THPS 4 at 7 years old, but my dad also bought me perfect dark when I was 4, so take that for what it’s worth.
TLDR: I think this was a cheap attempt at activision trying to bet a broader audience for skateboarding games by making a “mom approved” version of THPS 4 and selling it at the same price.

Quite frankly, I love this game. When you design a kid using the scaling and all that, you can make a pretty convincing looking kid. Then send them into the fantasy worlds of Disney movies is what makes it a Skate Adventure. Like watching an Amblin film (or Disney for that matter.), which can even include some implied peril (In the Tarzan area and Lion King area mostly). I bought this game when it came out and after rotating my game stock several times of the last 18 years or so, this is one that I have hung on to. It is nitchy and a matter of taste, but all in all, it's a fun game.

I remember playing this game. And although it never happened, I can picture a "Disney's Extreme Skateboard Adventure 2" where it features content from Disney/Pixar's "Monsters Inc.", Disney/Pixar and Marvel Studios' "Big Hero 6", Disney's "Frozen", and Disney/Lucasfilm's "Star Wars". Playable characters would include Sulley, Mike Wazowski, Randall Boggs, Hiro, Baymax, Anna, Elsa, Olaf, Darth Vader, Yoda, Chewbacca, Kylo Ren, Rey, and your own custom skater. There could also be an enhanced version of the create-a-skater mode, plus some unlockable costumes for the characters, and a level editor with elements from Disney-fied levels.

I remember playing this at Lollipops Playland at a holiday program here in NZ where I'm from, first and only time I got to play it and immediately I was hooked but we only got 5 minutes to play before we had to take turns😂 but it was so fun.. I wanna track it down and play it today for nostalgia and be transported back to the best years of my life 😍

I think that the McDonalds placement is because they planned to have this game setup in their Kids play area. I rem ember playing this game when my parents took me to McDonalds.

I can't get over the Nokia product placement! Haha! I agree with Ryan molinary. Review Simpsons Skateboarding! I'm sure it's far less painful then that Goofy skateboarding game. Yikes! That looked miserable! Great job RadRat!

I dont know how many hours I spent on this. It was split between NFSUG, SSX, this and 4×4 Evolution. Way too much time haha I still throw it in time to time to play for the nostalgia factor.
