Fun Fact: This game released shortly before the movie did, so there’s a meme in the Smash community that Lightning McQueen could get in since he “originally” came out on a video game

Another interesting and fun thing you could do with mack is there were those tiny paint cans or oil cans or whatever they were I don’t fully remember. But if you put them under him he would glitch out and sometimes stand up straight
A fun thing I discovered about moving Mack (and any other stationary character) is that if you moved him far enough away and turned to where you were not facing him while sitting where his original spot was, he would respawn and violently launch himself and Lightning, with Lightning getting thrown hundreds of feet into the air and practically across the map on rare occasions.
I remember seeing an advert for this and, being a young dingus that didn't understand differences between consoles, ended up with the shitty DS version :'(
@Robin Tob I had a very similar experience. I borrowed the full game from a friend, played through it completely in about a weekend, and ended up buying the DS version after thinking it was going to be the same game (roughly). I wanted to give it another playthrough where I didn't just burn through the main story and take my time with it. Needless to say I was disappointed with the DS version, and out of the money I had saved up from my allowance to buy it. The same thing happened with King Kong too actually. I gotta stop buying DS movie tie-ins.
My favourite thing to do in this game was to screw around in free play, being immersed in the world building. I discovered that if you time your pivot to backwards driving to hit an npc caracter with your backside you can send them flying. If you hit someone just as you reach max declination on a hill you will hit them into the far distance, even past the skybox if I remember right.

God, I remember my parents buying me a PS2 and this was the first game I've ever played there. 100%-ed it, and bloomed my love for the racing games genre. Great video as always!
one thing i love about the game is how well they constructed the extra characters. fletcher and gerald are jaguars, and el guapo is an el dorado. also, i think the soundtrack is literal perfection. It has some old classic rock as well as ole 50's vibes to suit the strip scene (which at night is amazing as said in the video)
I used to play this game all the time and completely forgot about it. I don't remember much from the game but thanks for breaking it down. This is something I didn't know I needed.

@Mammoth Supremacy 55 both are surprisingly good. TS2 is more Mario 64sh, TS3 is team work level based, with a great build your own city side mode. (The ps3 let's you get Zorg)

Cars 3 i saw more recently and it was a worthy conclusion to the series i grew up on. Though I never played this game, seeing you do that brought back some nice memories so thank you
This is similer to Grand Turismo, and had it as a kid. I used to try to get Out Of Bounds in this canyon area, and almost got out of where I should have been. I had this on GCN.
I remember spending most of my time in this game just ramming into traffic cars in free roam, their dialogue is just too funny to ignore. X3 I still have my old PS2 copy, I might pull it out and revisit it someday.
Which version of Wall-e are you commending? The PS2/PSP/PC version, or the PS3/Xbox 360/Wii version? I've played the PC version, and I do love it. Don't know much about the other one though.
I remember when I was younger my grandma would take us to the library and they had a couple PS2s there and me and my brother would play this game God this takes me back
Please do Race-O-Rama. The world's aren't quite as fun to explore, but the racing, the characters, the music, and the environments in the game are all great. To me, if the physics and the open-worlds were slightly better, it'd be a flat-out improvement on the first game. However, I still love both, each for their own. Cars is one of few shovelware-ish items in my collection Im proud of. While you're at it, check out Jimmy Neutron: Jet Fusion. As a kid, the game surprised me. It was fun, and was actually quite challenging to me at the time. Now that Im older its not quite as hard, but its still an incredibly fun game for what it is.
a simple remaster for this game would be phenomenal. dang, not even a remaster, we could just get a port of the x360 (wich exclusively had the best visuals out of any version) to newer consoles i just imagine comfortably playing this game on a switch lite... man that would be so nice
Uh huh. This was a great game. Reminder to people who get this on Steam on a laptop: The game tends to choose your integrated video card, so get it to choose your dedicated one.
Oh man, I remember this game. My brother and I would spend hours at the little quarter-pipe section of the town (for lack of a better way of describing it) running into other cars because there was a glitch that made them fall through like quicksand. Some of them would get stuck halfway while others would completely disappear, and for some reason we found this hilarious.
Someone should make a reskin mod and overhaul all textures and voices to give this game some new life because as good as it may be it gets boring after the first play through

Even though it was roughly 14 years ago now, I still have fond memories of this game. Thanks for making such an awesome review.
OH MY GOD!
YESSSSS!
I REMEMBER BEING LIKE 6 AND PLAYING THAT GAME EVERY SINGLE FREAKIN' DAY UP UNTIL I WAS LIKE 8 ON A WII AND IT WAS SOOOO GOOOD LIKE OPEN-WORLD CAR GAMES ARE THE FREAKIN' BEST
Same. I literally did exactly that.

GTA 6 looks great!
Didn't know it would be on PS2!
God, I remember my parents buying me a PS2 and this was the first game I've ever played there. 100%-ed it, and bloomed my love for the racing games genre.
Great video as always!
At first seconds of the video I thought this is a GTA SA mod
Ya me too cuz that minimap
one thing i love about the game is how well they constructed the extra characters. fletcher and gerald are jaguars, and el guapo is an el dorado. also, i think the soundtrack is literal perfection. It has some old classic rock as well as ole 50's vibes to suit the strip scene (which at night is amazing as said in the video)

Dude I can still hear the laggy sound effects and soundtrack from this game in my sleep.
It's been a very very very long time since I've played this but the main thing I remember is that it had a surprisingly good soundtrack.
I remember restarting the races to get that one awesome song
_Red_1_ THIS IS WHAT I WAAAANT! THIS IS WHAT I NEEEEEED! THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR!
Nekolu that song was nostalgic
_Red_1_ fuck yeah
I STILL HAVE THE DISC FOR THIS. HOLY SHIT IMA PLAY IT RN
I recently found a disc of this game lying arround amongst my movies, and I never played it before. I don’t even know how it got there.
I used to play this game all the time and completely forgot about it. I don't remember much from the game but thanks for breaking it down. This is something I didn't know I needed.
PLEASE, RACE'O'RAMA WAS AN AMAZING GAME... The DS port was actually kinda difficult too, I might add

If you loved Cars as a kid, have you ever seen the movie Doc Hollywood? It's essentially the movie Cars completely rips off. Good movie tho, has Michael J Fox in it.
Oh hi Larry from 3 weeks ago and maybe I should see that Doc Hollywood movie.
@@doomstasche5768 It's a great movie, you'll be quite shocked how much Cars takes from it.
I guess I could go see at some point, I wonder if it's on Netflix.
This game has so many ports it’s a shame if we don’t see Cars Gba or DS on this channel.
Cars DS is a minigame collection... Imagine my face when I found that out the hard way
Nullpointer
Mater-National for the DS was 10x better because... you know.. *actual racing*
@@TheMrKeksLp Same here. Except I got that game after Cars 2 came out.
Wait until he gets reminded of “world of cars” that got closed back in 2010. Hands down one of the best movie games at least for an mmo like game.
He mentioned it
@@StudioInkblot Oh did he? My bad
it closed in 2012 but yea it was actually the best racing mmo game ever
You seriously need to play Cars Race o Rama, I played it as a kid and (at least from what I remember) sounds like it improved on almost everything in this game, can't really remember how difficult it was though
Never knew about the CHMPION. Guess this'll be my excuse for revisiting this game at my age (17).
Same man 16 here by god i watched cars at least 50 or more times and played the game so so many times im just glad my ps2 still works fantastic like it is brand new
@@American_God I'm 17 and I still have memories of this game that I don't fully understand. Probably a good reason to revisit it as well.
Oh man, I don’t remember doing piston cups in the career mode. I do remember spending a ton of time exploring the open world and collecting those points. I think I remember just using cheats to unlock all the races and modes in arcade mode.
I grew up on cars, and always had a soft spot in my heart for it. I'm glad you have a fondness for it too.
TOY STORY 3 on Xbox 360 really surprised me!
Vollmer Tobias I had Toy Story 3 for Wii. It was a pretty good game and if Im not mistaken it has the same physics as the Disney Infinity games.
well fun fact, their was supposed to be a sequel but a space themed open world for buzz but that opened the creator's ideas to add Disney characters. The space world idea was used for the toy story playset. @@funnyguy5516
Fat Blue You learn something everyday. Interesting that they were originally gonna make a space themed open world game.
@Mammoth Supremacy 55 both are surprisingly good. TS2 is more Mario 64sh, TS3 is team work level based, with a great build your own city side mode.
(The ps3 let's you get Zorg)
I still can't get past the part where you have to use the soldier's parachutes in the beginning

Me: getting hit with a wave of nostalgia remembering you could switch cameras
I played this for hours and never did some of the first mission LMAO I just drove around and raced
Holy shit I remember this lol
Mindlessly driving around the map as like a 7 year old or something was so fun. Unexpected but appreciated reverie
I remember just pushing Mack onto the street and cause a major roadblock. It’s funny cuz the cars speed up and hit him.
Oh my god yes 😂😂
Never noticed that McQueen had these human-like bold eyebrows.
Imagine a mario kart with this kind of story mode.
Nintendo has proven they can't make good stories so I don't want to imagine it
@@alumlovescake They can make good stories like with Zelda games but they just don't out the same effort in it.
@@alumlovescake Nintendo just chooses to make simplistic stories most of the time. But they can make good stories when they want to.
@@alumlovescake lol good one
Cars was one for the first ever movies I ever remember watching and I loved it and used to sing the songs and watch it over and over cars 2 I loved (10/11) but everyone else didn't.
I used to play this over and over as a kid lol
that cutie

Hope you check out Mater National and Race-O-Rama!
Race o rama wad my personal favorite
@@Epic24123 im not sure ive ever played mater national, but race o rama had the best free roam
Deja vu
Race-o-Rama was my second game ever and was just amazing, as a young kid I played the shit outta it
The better version
FACT
I remember spending most of my time in this game just ramming into traffic cars in free roam, their dialogue is just too funny to ignore. X3
I still have my old PS2 copy, I might pull it out and revisit it someday.
I recommend checking out the Ratatouille, Wall-E and The Incredibles tie in games.
Which version of Wall-e are you commending?
The PS2/PSP/PC version, or the PS3/Xbox 360/Wii version?
I've played the PC version, and I do love it. Don't know much about the other one though.
@@wariolandgoldpiramid I've played the PS2 version
Hell yes
The PSP version was my childhood. Loved it back then and I still love it today
I remember when I was younger my grandma would take us to the library and they had a couple PS2s there and me and my brother would play this game God this takes me back
Same man
Please do Race-O-Rama.
The reason why the camera is so close to the bumper is because you're playing it on widescreen, this does not happen in 4:3
Cars was the shit, I love this game so much

a simple remaster for this game would be phenomenal.
dang, not even a remaster, we could just get a port of the x360 (wich exclusively had the best visuals out of any version) to newer consoles
i just imagine comfortably playing this game on a switch lite... man that would be so nice
TheRPGirl, oh god, I used to do that too! Ornament Valley was such a broken, but loveable mess of an area!
I had fun in the mater-national going to the drive in where there were matresses everywhere and you can bounce very high
Someone should make a reskin mod and overhaul all textures and voices to give this game some new life because as good as it may be it gets boring after the first play through
I remember my friend showing me this cheat code that literally unlocked the whole game
Use to play Cars on the wii all the time, I use to use all these cheat codes all the time.
Legitimately in the menu of the game they made a cheat code tab
Back than I felt like a mastermind

Anyone remember the Cars 2 game that tried to be like Twisted Metal?
Which one? The actual Cars 2 movie tie-in, Race-O-Rama, or Mater-National?
KeybladeMasterAndy oh, the proper movie tie in for cars 2
I think it was trying to be more of a Mario Kart clone, now that I think about it, it is similar to Twisted Metal aswell though.
I do. I remember that me and my friends liked it.
Probably the only good thing to come out of that movie tbh
