I hate concealer, most brands are cakey and a weird color. There are like two concealers I used in my entire life I liked: Clarins pen and Milani fat pencil, this was a long time ago.

Nah, the video was actually cut I have seen that video and they actually put eyeshadow on her eyelid, he probably didn't see the part two of the video.
Eye primer really is the best way to make ur eye makeup last longer but not that much and without blending it to the skin, like 😐 primers still have moisture in them so packing on too much will not lead to better looking makeup. I personally prefer putting on a very light matte eye shadow after the eye primer if I want the shadow colors to pop.

This is why it really bothers me when people say they want their makeup to hide the "textured parts" of their face. Y'all, your face has texture because it's made of skin. Stop trying to hide the fact that your face is made of skin and not plastic! Covering the texture of your skin with a million layers of concealer is completely absurd.
We’ve taken the idea of being a Barbie doll to the next logical level. We want to look like molded plastic 🤷🏼♀️😂
However anyone wants to look is no one else's business tbh. Makeup is supposed to make you feel better about yourself, and if hiding texture does that then that's all it is

Vaseline is oily and oils break up make up. So vaseline can actually be used with make up, but only to get it off. In theaters the actors often use/used vaselin to get rid of the tons of make-up they wear. So: vaseline, yes, but only for getting off make-up. Not a good idea to mix it for wear. ^^

Funny cos people actually used to mix petroleum jelly and coal to make eyebrow gels long ago (that was when makeup products were very dangerous!😆 Pls don't do this.)
I have nightmares about my face after removing flat white stage makeup with vaseline for almost a month. It works really well but didn't help my teenage acne at all. That mascara isnt staying on that girls lashes. Shes going to have blury vision from that getting in her eyes.

Wasn't the Vaseline'a fault. It's absolutely crucial to use a water-based cleanser after using an oil-based one.
I always used Vaseline to remove stubborn eyeliner or mascara from under my eyes XD
First Huda didn’t really have the concealer in her lips before she lined her lips. Second, she has her lips done so she could of literally did anything and her lips were still going to look pouty and exactly the same.
Also she just wiped off like 60% of the concealer with the beauty sponge

@@loudwhispers6283 that's not blending. The product went into the sponge or got wiped out in the jump cut. That's way too much product to be blended in such a small place. Robert said himself most of the product went away

I have an issue with feeling sticky, any part of my body, and when doing my makeup, theres a point where I've used a bit much product and feel sticky and genuinely have to take off the patch that I've used too much and start again. Yeah, didn't realise I could get secondhand sticky feelings. 😫

I say embrace it and do natural/minimal make up. Caking on product will just make it look worse from my experience with experimenting with my own face.
I really need that tutorial, I have really really dry skin too and I don’t know how to keep it from looking cakey
colour correcting with neutralisers/colour correctors, a light layer of foundation and spot concealing with a cream concealer does wonders I’ve found, I’ve been learning this in my makeup course and practicing it on friends with those issues and the less is more method really works wonders surprisingly
I've always thought Thataylaa's makeup has looked really amazing, she used to have cystic acne and really oily skin, went on Accutane and now she just has acne scars and really dry skin. She does a lot of foundation reviews where she shows how it actually lasts and looks in natural lighting and everything. A lot more real I guess.

So I decided to try the “hack” of using lots of eyelid primer. I’m 51, and as I’m aging, even though I do buy good skin care, my eyelids make me sad. They are discolored and the skin is thinning. I totally love makeup, especially eyeshadow. When I saw that hack, I was so excited. I did have that vague “TGTB true” feeling, but I did try it for almost a week. I say almost because I woke up on a Wednesday with my right eyelid grotesquely swollen and incredibly painful to even blink. Even my eye was red. Turns out there are tiny glands along where the eyelashes are. The excessive eyelid primer clogged these glands, even with thorough makeup removal at night, and I ended up with a severe infection. It all started with using excessive product. I’m telling everyone the truth when I say that Robert knows what he’s talking about. Please listen to and heed his advice.

thats me tbh I‘ve spend a thousand Dollars on lip filler (and its only in my upper lip my doctor ripped me off) but my lips are still really small. Id love to not overline them and be able to kiss my boyfriend but my whole face is even uglier without overdrawn lips
I have very full lips naturally, I overlined just to see what the craze was about and I looked ridiculous. Like a clown with nude lipstick on. I don't get it and most of the time you can tell they are overdrawn...it hardly ever looks natural.

I just watched Roberts blood pressure rise for 20 minutes straight.
This video took me back to the time in art school. The assignment was to create a painting using the baroque technique. Somebody turned in a painting that looked more like a craft project and the professor was pissed. He ripped her a new one during the critique.
I laughed so hard when you looked straight in the camera as soon as someone doing a baking thing 🤣🤣🤣
If foundation or concealer looks like you're painting on a thick layer of acrylic paint then there's something wrong. That looks like drag make-up - actually most drag performers don't use that thick of make-up because it doesn't hold up for long enough.
“There needs to be some honestly online”. Robert, you are the epitome oh honesty online. Watching your channel and drinking up your common sense should be mandated as essential in any makeup school. Personally, I adore your commitment to keeping makeup and it’s application real. Thank you for the time you put into education, you are appreciated more than you know.

I have literally put less make up on a corpse and trust me putting makeup on a deceased loved one is to make them more “alive”! But yeah, the funbeautyco is making her look like a corpse and never rest the weight of your hand on a clients head!! It’s rude and the pressure is not comfortable for the clients! Ugh!

I’m so confused why lighter tones want to use an orange/red corrector so bad. You don’t have deep pigmentation. Green /peach is enough if it’s even needed 🥴🤦🏾♀️

As a very pale person I agree. For dark under eyes I use a peachy pink, reds or orange are way too much for me.
I'm basically translucent. I do not understand how these people get orange and red to even work tbh. Concealer is yellow enough.
@@DiscountAnneHathaway I'm very pale too (you can see my goblin complexion in my profile pic lol) and the only color corrector I'll use is the Wet-n-wild Cushion Color Corrector in peach. I use it as my concealer. It's thin and light and gives me *just* enough brightening and doesn't make my dry aging skin look worse.
I think a lot of the time they just don't know that's not what you're supposed to do.
...also as a very pale white person, some white people refuse to believe they are in fact white.

As someone who's been through the makeup schools in the past few years, we've never been taught to put foundation on like a face mask. It's instagramers and beauty gurus teaching that. Also, the only makeup problem vaseline solves is removing it 😂
Same.. I've been to make up school 6 years ago and we learned to bring out your natural beauty. That doesn't mean to use excessive make up to paint a whole new face 😅 your poor skin can't even breathe...

You're watching the channel of a PROFESSIONAL make-up artist, so of course he is going to give advice from his point of view, and the majority of us watching want to hear his opinions. You are free to do whatever you want with your makeup and no one is trying to stop you. However, if you don't know the basic theories on makeup (how to match your skin tone, how to properly color correct, how to contour and highlight to suit your bone structure, how to perfect your skin with foundation and avoid looking cakey, etc.), then you may end up looking like a mess when you walk out the door. But hey, do you!

You asked why people are using excessive products. The answer is probably that brands started this trend in order to sell more. People will replace products more frequently as a result of excessive product use. I have an eye primer that I’ve used for nearly 3 years. Makeup companies hate people like me because I don’t replace often. Use makeup sparingly, people. And buy high pigmented products; they last forever, as well.

I am just wondering why that man thinks his lips look good. They look uncomfortably swollen. Natural big lips (which I have) don’t look like that in any way, shape, or form. I don’t shame lip fillers, it just looks very odd. Like his lips are going to explode.

Something to keep in mind when seeing how a beauty influencer does his or get makeup is to remember that they have to wear more makeup than usual for it to show up on camera. What’s more is that some influencers use their monitors or their viewfinders to determine if they’re wearing enough makeup. Otherwise we’d barely be able to see what they’re doing. The problem is that most of their viewers don’t know this and think that wearing excessive makeup is normal.

THANK YOU for this video! I was trained in make up and worked on movies etc. And couldn't agree more. The make up school taught exactly what you said about make up being blended BUT I worked at a make up counter for a while and my boss told me I'm not wearing enough make up because you cannot see my foundation. (And my skin is really not bad, it isn't like there was blemishes on show). Absolutely awful what instagram has done to people's perception of make up...
