    I learned how to properly clean paint brushes when I was in art school, and I translated it into how I treat my makeup tools. It has really increased the longevity of my brushes. I have some that are 20 year's old and look brand new. It's a pain to clean but worth it in the long run ❤

      Have you ever tried the little bowl that spins the brush clean then spins it dry? I just bought one but have yet to use it. It probably wouldn't work for someone who has a lot brushes an doesn't clean them consistently because it would take a lot longer. But I don't have a ton of brushes an clean them pretty regularly.

    • @makeupkoala
      @makeupkoala 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@lorimoore5589 I have the one you are talking about, and the good thing is that the brushes dry pretty fast because you spin all the excess water out at the end. Other than that, I see absolutely no difference from swirling my dirty brushes on a rubber mat or on the palm of my hand. The spinner will not clean cream products off brushes well, like foundation brushes. I had to wash my foundation brush 3 times to get it clean. But it is pretty fun to use though

    Hi Robert, I have struggled to find a foundation routine for my mature skin. These are the changes that finally worked.... use a hydrating primer, then a pore filling one (Elf Poreless Putty), I then used a small amount of concealer to correct under the eyes and cover spots. I then mix a bit of a more dewy foundation into a matte one, and apply a very small amount- I use a brush to "pat" it into the skin, then go over it lightly with a sponge. I only use the tiniest amount of powder just under the eyes (I like the Hourglass Translucent Veil powder.) Just thought I would share this for any people with mature skin, just in case something in this routine might help someone!🖤🖤🖤

    • @raerohan4241
      @raerohan4241 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      May I ask why you mix matte and dewy foundations? Wouldn't just a dewy one be enough, with powder on top to dull the shine? Or a satin finish one if you're looking for an in-between finish?

    I've found that I can restore products with hardpan by applying ordinary Scotch tape to the surface, pressing it flush, and peeling it off. I'm losing the top layer of product, but I'm not getting product compression like I would by scuffing it with a spoolie or palette knife

    Omg I lost my shit when she threw those brushes in the sink! The whole brush under water! Then soaking them straight up and the FREAKING DRYER?! Omg sweet baby Jesus!

    Am I the only one that finds cleaning my brushes soothing? Everytime I use a brush I put it in my "dirty brush" jar and wash them every Saturday.
