Its a shame youre not able to test like for like. I have the 2024 i4 M50, with idrive 8.5 and the same crystal switches and dials as the i5. It also has the adaptive air suspension that is on the i5. Also getting dragy 0-60 times of 2.9 seconds. BMW are starting to excel in EVs. A lot of experience over the last decade.

Hi Nick,found your channel a little while ago and thanks to you I am now looking at a mercedes c200. Did have my heart set on a BMW 3 series.

No worries! I was gutted actually I missed a BMW event recently as I was on holiday.

What was your reason for a switch (just curious if you don’t mind sharing)
Don’t get me wrong - I love the EQE350+. But the car had low ground clearance due to the long wheel base. As a result, the bottom of the car kept hitting huge humps. In addition, when transitioning from steep ramps to the flat bit, the bottom of the car would scrape the floor. I made the decision to change so that i would not be faced with a huge repair bill if there was damage to the chassis or battery caused by the impact by the hump/floor. As I have owned 10 Mercs before and the EQE350+ was the best of the lot….. draw your own conclusions.😊

Yes that’s right, started to put my GoPro’s on the windscreen for in car shots, that way people can see me better 😅
My 2018 E class cab has a speed awareness indicator when the posted speed limit is exceeded. BMW just catching up then.

A couple were sightly different (some more slightly angled toward the driver and curvy) but having the screens across the dashboard is a popular design these days 🤓
My problem with these EV's are that In South Africa they are not really viable as there is not enough charging infrastructure. I miss the i3 REX with it's 650 cc motorcycle engine to charge while on the go. Hybrids is a total different story, like the BMW XM, but it is too expensive and it is not big sellers in ZA.
Are there enough charging infrastructures in uk? every country is trying neither america or uk or south africa has enough charging infrastructures so its unfair for u to pick on south africa bse even uk doesn't have enough
@@richardrobin395 I am not picking on South Africa I live in ZA, I have first hand knowledge. I would love an EV but there is no charging infrastructure where I live, you will find it only major cities and the highways linking them. And we have another problem, we have power outages up to ten hours a day. The problem is corruption on a grand scale. One of the largest fossil fueled power stations in the world is 20km from where I live, it should have been finished in 2014 yet up to now it is not finished.

This must be an older i4, they haven't been built with the "gear lever" for quite a while now. Also, 3.9s is the 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) time, not 0-60. Most actual cars get measured at around 3.7 for 0-100 km/h but some get as low as 3.6.
