I've been doing your Ajna/Third Eye meditation for a few weeks now and it's been really cool! Here's hoping I don't level up and slip into another dimension.
Normal people: Wow, 5 segments to choose from! Dr K, a degenerate gamer for life who probably played PoE or will play PoE2 eventually: SKILL TREE GO BRRRRRRRRRRR Not going to lie, this was awesome but you did miss one tiny chance of having Kruti coming in and saying "I told you to read your e-mails". Best of luck guys, you've grown so much! (deserved and truly super hard work done). HGGG always in my heart
Please never ignore making the SKILL TREE better. I understand it's not for everyone but tt's so much better for meeting people where they are at if they are already familiar with skill trees in video games :). It was so easy to get into and get what I need out of the guide.
The "If you have something important please send it to me in an email" immediately followed by "Dude you know I don't read my emails" without skipping a beat was GOLD
I literally just bought the guide 2 days ago because I've been suffering really badly with my mental health. I discovered you back during the summer and no one has helped me more with my mental health than you Dr. K, from the the bottom of my heart thank you so much for all you do!
Fasting or keto diet for mental health. Hmmm I've never seen or heard a professional recommend those as options . Possibly BC that would be similar to treating diarrhea with eyeglasses.
@@vickimoerschfelder3313 Both the Keto Diet and Intermittent Fasting can positively impact mental health by stabilizing blood sugar levels and promoting brain energy efficiency. The Keto Diet increases ketone production, which provides a steady energy source for the brain, potentially reducing anxiety and depression. Intermittent Fasting can enhance neuroplasticity, reduce inflammation, and increase levels of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), supporting better mood and cognitive function.

Thank god. I was scared crapless that I would never again see my CYOA FFX-inspired Sphere Grid. I look forward to seeing it continue to grow with each new module! Of course, the "inviting" and "accessible" and "understable" new version is fine too I guess. If, like, you're into that sort of thing. Seems like a skill issue though, ngl :)
@@citypavement I don’t think that’s what Kirith was trying to say-they were just expressing a preference for the skill tree. Personally, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with presenting ads like this. It was clear to me within the first 10 seconds that it was an ad, so I didn’t feel tricked into watching it. I actually kept watching because I found it entertaining. I also don’t see it as clickbait, the guides were shown in the thumbnail and the title includes "my team", which makes it clear it’s a video about the company.
the skill tree is super overwhelming to see imo I couldn’t keep going because I didn’t know where I should go. I am so glad you introduced a new way, and I am hoping I do not get overwhelmed. Thank you Dr K.
in the guide Dr K mentions which things you should watch next, and that you should do one thing for weeks before starting the next. or other mentions of limits on how much you should watch in a day…. that doesn’t line yup with how any of the guide works. i feel like it would be better if it just generated google calendar items or something. or just had a timeline or calendar of some kind so we know exactly what and when
I like the FFX skill tree. But I admit its hard to parse and the new way will be better for many people (including me, though I’ll still use the skill tree)
As a random guy that doesn't have an HG account, I'd say having a link straight to the Checkout page on this video's description is a bad call; It's the first thing you see when you want to look into more information, and you won't get much of it since it's the checkout page, the actual guide with the products contents is hidden behind a 'show more' button on the description. Maybe it was on purpose so the user could see 'oh this is a thing I can buy/pay for' with the least amount of clicks, but in that case you should add a big link to the guide on the checkout page so people have more context on what's going on or in case they need a refresher on what they're purchasing before getting money involved.
I'm glad you didn't get rid of the skill tree as an option. Too many services try to force you to use their "better" approach without considering the people who actually prefer the old style. Having both as an option is exactly how it should be
I can see how the new UI might be more comfortable for people who aren't gamers. Thank you for keeping the skill tree. I haven't bought the guide yet, but I plan to...and I need the skill tree XD
TBH, if it were originally presented with the "new" UI, i never would have bought it. The "skill tree" approach is the *only* reason I gave it a chance in the first place!
I think I understand both sides here. After working for a bit on a skill-tree'ish project I eventually realized that its only redeeming qualities are that it looks nice, explains the area in broad strokes and reflects the amount of effort that went into it, but actually navigating it is kind of a chore, and a plain list of available next steps is much easier to work with.
I understand the need to shape the guide for people who aren't necessarily gamers. I feel like most people i've told about HG aren't gamers, but I still love the fact that the skill tree is still there.
I like both. The recommendation stuff helps with decision paralysis but sometimes I want to learn about ADHD and depression is recommended, as an example. I love being able to just glance at the skill tree though and see my completion percentages going up lol. Just slowly coloring in the map.
What's missing in the guide is a place to take personal notes on each video. Also the videos would benefit greatly from the quizwithit system created by Sabine Hossenfelder (AI system that automatically creates a quiz from a video to help you remember its content)
The best feature would be an app that's just a mirror of the website so I can get background playback on videos on my mobile device. Reason I don't go through the course is because I can't play it in the background
Dr. K could have a 1 hour video analysis abt the skill tree and I would watch the whole thing ngl.,. Can’t wait to see what ya’ll would add next to the tree 💪🔥
as a path of exile platyer, that skill tree is too simple. we need more small nodes, clearer notables, with some keystone passives as well. we could even use some jewel nodes to allow some extra personalisation in the future. we making it out of crippling depression with this one. :fire: :fire: :fire: :fire:
brother you live in a capitalist society where good are traded for legal tender which enables that product to funnel more money into R&D, if it was free it wouldnt be possible to hire the people that run the service and host the website, Now if it was a monthly payment plan Dr K would be just as bad as a therapist office but the truth is you are a consumer in need of a service and the way the service provider benefits is by getting paid for it so they also can afford to continue providing that service
You could easily save that amount of money in a month on a 1500/ month salary (8.50/h around US fed min wage)and if you perhaps are in severe poverty or are not working that obviously means you need to fix that first, but the service provider needs that money to pay its workers.
the skill tree is a valiant effort on your part as a psychiatry communicator. whether simple chart or diagram sea, the objective of merely grasping the mind remains out of reach at the top of the sum of current knowledge.
When the product manger can't understand your idea of approach , and make something that u might not like but it will grow on you and we kept your idea also kinda situation
Peep the awesome skill tree (or the BORING way) here: bit.ly/3ZNiI2S 👀
I'm gonna respec into ADHD/Anxiety build. Depression/Trauma is way too hard to play and Meditation doesn't seem to deal much damage.

"Just send me an email" and "Bro, you know I don't read my emails" resonate me embarrassingly well 😅😂😂😂
I cackled for too long at that exchange
dying🤣🤣🤣🤣
😅😅😅
But I want the skill tree….
We ALL want the skill tree. 🧗
It’s still there
Watch the rest of the video.
@@hollowedboi5937 I know, I’m just saying I prefer it
@TheeSkaterGeek I did watch it.
The skill tree is the whole reason I bought the thing!

This is why I like it.
don't let dr. k see this 🙄

How about trying keto diet or fasting in order to deal with your mental health?
