    The best thing is to spot the toxicity from the interview. One of the upfront questions I ask in the interview is “why is the position open” where I screwed up in my last position was that when I interviewed with the owner he was throwing the guy I was replacing under the bus. The key is the red flags they look for in you at an interview you should be looking for those red flags from them. One of my biggest red flags is the bait & switch.
