    I have been a victim of that knuckle ball in league. It looked so pretty, I loaded up and it just took a dive right when it got to the plate ended up shanking a pop up to the short stop. The man is a master out there.

      He really is, and he makes it look effortless! He can do anything he wants with the ball. Definitely a challenge to face off against. I am sure it makes you a better hitter facing off against him!

    Before i watched a pitcher video i really didn't know what i was doing though i did no one thing when i pitched my one and only something strange happened - after seeing a video that guy called it a slider well i had a Breaking slider that most everybody would swing at getting a foul all the time since discovered the screwball and with that being said noticed my knuckleball was either a knuckle slider or knuckle screwball or when felling cocky ugly knuckleball - thanks guys for helping with my confidence

    I just play in a rec league, but I've had other players tell me how they hate my knuckleball. I dig in with my nails between the seams with my index, middle and ring fingers when I throw mine, and few things put a smile on my face more than someone taking a huge cut at my pitch and missing by a foot.

      Love it! Watching someone completely whiff after you threw a perfect knuckle has to be really satisfying. Well done

    I usually throw a palm ball as my knuckleball. Put the ball in my palm (cupping the ball) with no fingers touching the ball. Have to pitch from front of mound to get it there. Comes out with no rotation and floats like a butterfly stings like a bee! Hehe

    Great information as always guys! I had a guy in my league that mastered the knuckleball. His only problem was he only threw that one pitch which was foolish because everyone figured him out after one at bat.

    • @LeagueNightSoftball
      @LeagueNightSoftball  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! The Knuckleball is a great tool but you have to have another pitch or two to change up the pace. Did the pitcher ever adjust his strategy? Thanks for watching!

    • @mikefatts4564
      @mikefatts4564 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@LeagueNightSoftball he tried moving left and right, but same pitch just slightly different location. It kept coming in on the outside part of the plate for a right handed hitter. All I had to do was position my body to go opposite field and wait on it. He was so pissed when we scored ten runs in one inning on him and blew the game open .

    Great video. What are the types of protective gear do you guys use

    • @LeagueNightSoftball
      @LeagueNightSoftball  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Ken, we appreciate your comment! We have noticed it really depends on the pitcher. Nino, for example, doesn't tend to wear much protection at all. At the minimum, we recommend wearing facial protection, which Nino does do from time to time. Many of the pitchers we play with will wear a full face mask and some sort of protective shin guards. Also recommended is some sort of chest protection to help against comebackers. Happy to send over a few links should you be interested.

    It might be a custom, but that glove looks amazing. Any information on where we can possibly get it? Or at least the size?

    • @LeagueNightSoftball

      We don't know the exact specs of the glove but we can certainly point you in the right direction. It's from an Arizona company called Legacy Glove Co.

      I know Nino had some just like it for sale but I know he had limited stock. If you find him on FB and message him I am sure he can get you more info. Let him know you saw it in our video! Thanks for watching!

    • @LeagueNightSoftball

      He really has made the knuckle look easy, hasn’t he? I think the big thing is the loose grip, just enough to feel control, but not white knuckling. Let us know if you find something that helps you!

    • @BigRed1654
      @BigRed1654 ปีที่แล้ว

      @League Night Softball I have a knuckleball grip that works for me, but it isn't consistent. I like this grip because I have smaller hands, and it is super comfortable, but I haven't figured out the release point or how he releases it(let it slip out).
      I have been trying this release 20-30pitches every few days to try and figure it out before I go back to my current knuckleball.

    I don't know why people in my league pitch knuckleballs. I don't know if it's because of the thin air (almost mile high altitude) or they're just not great at it. It will come in without rotation but it doesn't do anything as far as "dancing" goes. It's just... there. I typically hit them really well and I'm not the only one. The spin that causes a pitch to drift away or back over the inside of the plate give me far more trouble than knucklers.

    • @LeagueNightSoftball
      @LeagueNightSoftball  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Send the pitchers in your league a link to this video! A well executed knuckle is supposed to be unpredictable which creates a small advantage for the pitcher. If, however, it isn't moving at all, it can be like putting the ball on a tee for batters. That is why we recommend having a complete arsenal of pitches and using what is working to keep hitters off-balance. Mixing pitches can really make the pitcher tough to face.
