There was another guy on TH-cam weeknight ace that had some nasty pitches I learned. His slider I perfected but I could never get down the screwball backhand. Thank you for this video! I literally just went outside in my backyard and practiced this grip and throwing it. I got the hang of it, just need to keep practicing it now for accuracy. Thank you guys!! This channel has helped me out so much!!
@@jimpeterson3806 same. I think the screwball backhand is super easy. The slider though... I could never figure it out and have pretty much ditched it.
Another pitch to add to my repertoire. It's my first year pitching and I'm trying to get as many pitches as possible. Excellent channel. Keep up the outstanding work.
Thank you for this, this is our first year playing in a men’s slow pitch softball league. Our pitcher was just pitching it normally with no spin and every batter was bombing it, we lost 25-0! Our $50 aluminum bats had no chance against composite bats as well!
I've been there. My first slowpitch experience was very similar. The key is to keep going and keep working at it and you'll start seeing improvement in no time. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the tutorial Jeremy. I bumped into u last week at Jackson park. I approached u cause I noticed u were the guy on TH-cam is. I’ve been playing softball for 25yrs. Played shortstop most of the time but injuries was an issue. Now I’ve been pitching for few seasons now and loving it. I used to pitch your screwball technique but now throw it with a backspin. Pleasure meeting u brother. Take care🙏🏽
Can you guys do a video on what a pitcher should do after the pitch is thrown ? How do you train/prepare for that one ball that shoots back at you ? An how should we play our area…etc.
once you throw the ball get into a good fielding positions with your glove up. work on fielding the ball on both sides of the rubber depending on if its a left or right hand batter. Do eye hand reflex drills and cordination drills. i for example throw a lacross ball off a brick wall at short distances. i catch it with a glove and with out. you'd be surprised after a couple weeks of doing drills you start catching those hot smashes. - Former Conference Usssa pitcher -
Question for Jaime....if one side of your defense is weak should you still use different pitch locations or should you pitch to your defense strong side?
Is LGH suppose to be a good team? Because if it was, I’d think as a pitcher he would know using a first base mitt is illegal as a pitcher in most sanctions where it matters 🙄
This video is just for demonstration. We didn't film during a tournament or anything so fortunately no disqualifications were administered. Also, we've never heard that rule before. Can you site us the official rule so we can check it out?
Google. As a pitcher and use to be umpire… it’s in the rule books. Unless there are some rec park rules that allow it. Sanctions don’t. Wsl / usssa / GSL / one nation = illegal PSL and nsa, who cares don’t know those lol
LGH is a top 3 E team in NorCal actually! When Uncle J pitches, he uses his Rawlings Heart of the Hide glove. He uses the 1B mitt when he's playing 1B or during practice to keep breaking it in
@@LeagueNightSoftball That is actually was a rule, only the 1B can use a 1B glove. But looks like it was changed per USSSA rules: . LEGALLY ADOPTED GLOVES may be worn by any fielder. A. Catchers, pitchers, and 1st basemen may wear a glove or mitt of any size; all other players are restricted to a finger type glove with the space between the thumb and forefinger not exceeding more than 4-1/2 inches at the top. The webbing shall not be constructed to form any type net or tray
Thanks for watching! I’m sure every pitcher finds a way to make it work for them. I think Jamie is trying to say it’s easier to get your hips engaged from that stance, but pitching definitely isn’t once size fits all! Stay tuned, we will cover the knuckle in the near future!
Hey Dom, thanks for watching. Uncle J and company cover that in our Slider video (link below). Pitching 101: The Slider. Different Grips, Same Results | USA / ASA / USSSA Slowpitch Softball th-cam.com/video/jCgAozURZjg/w-d-xo.html
If your a righty, and throw with a backspin. Grip ball like 2 seam fast ball..pronate wrist towards glove hand side upon release. Easier said than done. I’m still trying to perfect it. Experiment with different grip to see what works.Practice,practice,practice.

I learned the Weeknight Ace backspin screwball but could never get his slider to work. It's nice to have content on here to learn from
We are so glad we could help you out! Jamie is a great dude and a great pitcher. He's always willing to help and teach any time that he can.

@@jimpeterson3806 same with me lol any time I threw a slider in the game it was basically lawn bowling

Uncle J is truly a class act. We are lucky he gives us the time to shoot these videos. He just loves the game and wants to give back!

Hey Leroy, thanks for the suggestion. We can definitely plan an episode about fielding at the pitcher's position. We will add it to the list!

Love the videos…especially because I’m a lefty
What first base mitt is that? Pocket looks amazing!

Great video but where's the big guy??? 😂
I'm sure he'll be back in a future video. Good pitchers are hard enough to find, let alone get them all together at once! Thanks for watching!

Different pitch types in slow pitch softball? 😆😆😆 Adorable!

I pitch wrong way. It’s the only way I can throw my knuckleball. It’s all different for people.

How do you pitch the opposite of screwball?

You are going to get pitchers hit lol since 90% of league players pull the ball.
Throw the screwball at your own discretion haha! Learn to control it and most pitchers won't get hit. Control the batter!
Damn what are they screaming for? Damn
I have no idea... it was soooo loud....
I call bullshit…..
