Neither one is the c-m, notice the carb adjustment holes on the cowling.... I have a MS362c-m and there are no carb adjustment holes....

And in the 2020 one (where you can see) there is no diagnostic plug in the clips nor connector for the fuel solenoid above the inlet tract. Nor any wires. Not seen a non M-tronic that late here in the UK....

I have 362cm. just breaking it in.
it has run beautifully, without fail.
once it's "hot" and shut shortly. it starts easily without choke. no problem.
    great saws!

starting a warm or hot 362cm without the choke will burn out the solenoid ? I kinda don't believe it. However, the old black version of solenoids sucked, and would auto fry anyway. I think your dealer made that up because he didn't feel like honoring the 2 year EPA warranty.. Thanks for the video.

And it's not a made in germany when you look at the label in front? THANKS.

I got stuck with the first year of production, I had no idea that regular carb saws were available, Nothing but headaches from the first version of the MS362CM. the solenoids sucked, the piston and cylinder are scored from the lean setting that Stihl provided with their new improved shit.

    Hi,
Really interesting video, thanks. I have a 362cm (m-tronic) bought in europe and it has no option to adjust the H, L or T screws as both your saws do. Are you sure that either of them have a computer (m tronic) carb because the computer ones do not have the option to override the computer as yours do. In any case they are a great saw. Happy cutting!

I would not know until they were removed to see if the bolt pattern is the same as to 2020 does not show the mounting bolts. They are under the removable front cover. With no need to do so and chance a leaking gasket I can't say for sure. But you could ask Stihl for cross reference part numbers or ask service.

Neither of these saws are mtronic. The older models run harder. I have three that are crossover models that have the older style clutch cover with captured bar nuts and they also have the newer style air cleaner and older style top cover. There are more variations of this saw than you think. Two of mine are west coast versions with wrap handles.

as many people have pointed out in the comments, neither is an m-tronic.
resale value is better on the standard-carb. also, those chips get outdated and obsolete. of course a big company like Stihl makes sure to get the stock to keep servicing running, but eventually they will run out.
when i was purchasing this chainsaw half a year ago, i made a point to get the standard-carb. to me, the m-tronic is not worth it. the little fuel it saves cannot cannot compare to the problems of these chips. btw, it's those that are making these saws not start properly once they start malfunctioning (which might be sooner then you expect). i have heard horror stories of a guy changing his chip 3 times within 100 working hours, on this exact model.
especially if you're not using it professionally and you aim to keep it longer than 5 years, i can only see positives in not getting the m-tronic.
if you want to be super cautious, you can bring your saw to your dealer once a year to adjust the carb. or get yourself an RPM-meter and you can do these adjustments yourself. the standard adjustment is noted in the user manual, then you go from there.

The best thing to have before spending $800 on a Stilh MS 362 chainsaw is a 20 year old Poulan chainsaw that "still" cranks after 20 years. Because the Stilh saw will fail you after 6 months, then after 1 year, 1.5...etc. Stilh having trouble with my MS [POC} 362 after 3 solenoid changes and now have a 2 yr old Stilh setting dead on a table.

Who owns a chainsaw that has zero dirt under the covers? The bottom looks like he carefully sets it on a pillow between cuts. I want a guy who uses his saws and lets tham bounce around in the truck bed between sites and has some scars to prove it actually gets worked.
