wowee! You believe this? Are you a Trump voter? This is VERY DANGROUS advice. This guy is not a medical doctor. Do not trust chiros, they shouldnot be giving advice. If you stretch like this you could potentially cause further damage. "Dr" Joel is a chiropractor.. he is not a real Dr. The fact that you claim he has curd 35 yrs of neck pain tells me that you haven't seen a real doctor and that you are a trump voter.

Sciatica. A good chiropractor that offers cervical decompression can change your life. (Worked for several & also used to suffer from same thing as well. A lot of people think sciatica is only lower back through butt and down legs eventually, which lumbar decompression, combines with inversion table, & manual adjustments can help as well. Cervical sciatica begins in necks and eventually goes down one side of neck down one arm. Most common with people who sit at computers all day, where lumbar is more common with men who do physical labor but that’s not an absolute.

great psa. also, a lot of ppl (me included) think the side that hurts (the weaker side) as the problem, but stretching the stronger side, which is overpowering the weak side, can bring balance between the two and relieve pain and allow the structure to move back into less painful place.

Same here. My doctor gave me a great advise that helped me so much since then. She said, get your shoulders up and move the upper part of your back carefully bit by bit until you find where it hurts the most. Stay there couple of seconds, then loosen up, and repeat, finding new painful spots (there are always more then one, right?). This teaches the muscles that they have to relax after the pain.

Can confirm this works. Did it myself before I even found this video but got a huge muscle spasm in my neck after about 10 minutes of leaning my head to the correct side. Thank god

You’re a literal god dude. I have this exact pain, went through a pinched nerve and couldn’t turn my head. I can feel it coming from exactly where you said in my spine and I stretched into the pain instead of away and it felt 10x better
Killed at first but got a lot better once I eased into more.

Please it would be great if you could show most effective exercise for spinal accessory nerve injury. It happened after my lymph node surgery in the neck about 12 years ago. Painful.

      Same here!
I normally have to go for acupuncture a couple of times a year for the past 15 years. Luckily, it's covered in Taiwan. But now, knowing this stretch, hopefully, I'll be able to prevent the need to go as frequently as I do now.

@jennc.9099 Wouldn't that be wonderful? I can tell you this, after a few days of stretching in the RIGHT direction, I'm feeling relief. My left trap has been lit up for WEEKS!

That actually helped a little! A SLIGHT relief, (which is hella good, I never get ANY relief bscly) but hopefully doing it at least once a day, or morning and evening in a set of 10 can cause longer lasting, better relief. I have far too many painful af areas so I'm getting an MRI soon, due to no apparant reason for all the pains and aches. Still, the visual aid helped a lot!
