I could spend hours just trying to get a single piece to snap in. Free placement does help a smidge. What am I supposed to do with all these blurry posters and decals. Some of them don't appear on interior panels at all

Just WoW... I had no idea you could build your freighter that detailed. I've only been playing a little over a month. I had an A class Dreadnought until about an hour ago... I now have the S class Ventador I wanted and am in the process of upgrading it. IF I can someday make my freighter look half as good as yours, I'll be extremely happy. Thank you for posting this. I'm not sure I'll ever make one this nice but it sure has inspired me to try to make a nice set up. Thank you so much for this.
Thanks for giving a guide on how to build it, unlike others who just show it off. I already had a frigate expedition room and Stellar cartography room at the front with a fighter hangar bay at the very back and could never figure out the bit in the middle. Your design fits perfectly in between these areas and connects up perfectly also. Adding my own little tweaks here and there. Would you do a video sometime on showing your living quarters when it's finished. I need some inspiration.

I used to find using the panels was good to raise the floor with the legacy parts but was a bugger to get them level as they almost always went crooked as soon as you moved them. I look forward to seeing what you come up with.
Took me a whole day to try to get an S class, but I got it the next day. I just logged on an got it on my first try. I went crazy when i saw the big ole S.
Man i'm having the same problem. The first pirate ship I went after ended up being an S class but I still had all my S-class badges in my old Freighter and hadn't emptied the inventory... Now I've spent 2 days trying to get another S class 98% of the time it's C-class otherwise seeing 2x A classes and one B-class i mean, are you shitting me?!? So I'll be trying again day 3 thank you lol!

Phenomenal. Love it. I tweaked it a bit but this build is amazing. And the scaling glitch worked great too. (On PC, if anyone attempts it: E to duplicate the terrarium, press Q+C precisely at the same time, E to duplicate locker, finally Q+mouse click almost together---but Q slightly earlier than mouse click. Worked for me.) Thanks!
A real delight to the eyes, mate, CONGRATS ! I am at 10% of what you did here ( only 2 levels build) but you rise the bar for me to the sky, lol. Now THIS is how a REAL fighter should look, and this is an example for all community !
I got a B class last night during my Expedition run. Weapons were a little bit under powered so it took a bit to whip the pirates into submission. 😂😂 I love the look of it. But FYI the Dreadnought might attack you on the way out. I went into the space station and then exited and it seemed to fix it.
Yeah I got confused, too, being attacked by my own freshly acquired freighter 😄 but it seems to be a known bug. Just enter the anomaly or space station like you said, and it's fixed.
As always, great video and amazing build. You always give me the greatest ideas. Another tip: I didn't realize for the first few weeks, the grow rooms also provide carbon if you interact with the blue wall switches. (25-100 carbon per switch) The switches are also found on any interior wall you place in a grow room. 11:35

I got my S-Class 2nd try after waiting for a pirate freighter to spawn, I accidently saved during my settlement. Your freighter base is very amazing, some parts you left out but in total it's very spacious.
Impressive! I wish there were more things that visitors could interact with when visiting other's bases. Imagine if there was a dependency on bases for food, fuel, etc, creating a really cooperative game. Galactic expansion dependent on player-created bases to provide essential supplies to allow for further exploration into the unknown...
Phenomenal work! I just make a lot of stuff on default. I know it was there but I didn't realize the color and size could be changed. For whatever reason I never paid attention to the options. Thanks for sharing your build. This game is so immersive that like with anything that becomes an individual's expression (car, home, pc, clothes, etc.). We all want to show our creative side. Even if I if I don't do all of this on my freighter, you have opened my eyes to a LOT I can do in this game!

It is rather large! LOL but it is practical for crafting. :-) RNG is being very kind to you, when it comes to Freighters I always have to grind for hours.

Hey brother, love the build. Trying to do it myself and I'm running into an issue with the grow rooms on the sides. You made the ground floor platform 6 deep (stairs on the 6th), leaving space for 5 grow rooms. All fine. On the second floor though, you do 5 grow rooms again with stairs on each side. So 7 blocks long. That leaves me with one set of stairs that I can't attach anywhere. Have I missed something? Edit: for anyone else trying to follow, where the footage cuts at 4:57, that's where you add an extra platform. Ground floor is still 7x6, but the first floor side walkways are 7 long, extending out so the stairs are on top of the operation room.
Just as a tip, if you place the Industrial Expansions rooms down and use the Replace Part feature to swap to the Storage rooms it is faster and doesn't kick you out of the menu
Did you extend the 2nd level by 1? because i've been building side by side and nothing matches up, i've spent a good 15 minutes running through footage and nothing makes sense, everything i've placed is where you've placed it. unless you've done an edit to it during one of the cuts.. this is in the first 10 minutes. Edit: just after posting this I actually noticed the cut in the video where you skip that you added an extra 1 platform to the 2nd level before putting the stairs in, the video only shows a few frames of you putting down the next platform before it skips to you placing the stairs
yeah i was following along and got fucked up too he extended it by 1 at some point it’s 7x7 not 7x6 like he says. the fade cuts also make it harder to follow in my opinion.
god DAMN i now have the urge to redo my freighter's interior. I usually have it as hallways but looking at this... maybe i might take a few ideas (also the top of the HUD being full of plants is hilarious idk why)
I had no idea you could make a freighter base like that. Mine is just a few corridors and small rooms because I never tested the limits and. Always assumed the area was small.
error @ 5min. i was confused for so long as to why my grow rooms werent connecting properly with the stairs and its because right after you said "6 platforms" (on the second floor balcony) the video clipped to show 7 platforms long lol
first video ive seen of this guy but so far im loving him, his build is DOPE! plus i like the fact that he explains even the small steps that typical gamers would already know how to do, like rotating things and whatever. as someone who games with a few older guys they dont always have the same "gamer sense" that others do. Keep up the good work man!
Firstly love the base design and the fact that there are so many big spaces but they are all full of decoration. I'm a 2000-plus-hour player looking for a challenge. Thought I'd give this a go following your video. Please take this as constructive feedback as that is how I'm thinking. I am struggling to follow along, not because it's too fast and yeah I have slowed down to 0.5x but as you jump to a new area and as the base is so large, with places looking very similar, it's hard to figure out where you are working. I know for you it's second nature as you walk around things you have made. An example, right at the start was building the first block of rooms and then putting the main deck down on level 1, however as you had some existing buildings when you started I put the first set of stairs at the main flight deck end, not the far end. I also put the initial platforms at the wrong end, then made the grow rooms and nothing looked like what you had when I tried to add the corridors up to grow rooms on L3, then went to put in the storage rooms, I struggled to figure out where they went but saw they were between two stairs then also saw part of the freighter. I guessed wrongly which meant I got it wrong and put the storage rooms on level 2. Watched a lot more and couldn't often figure out what floor you were on or what direction you were facing as rooms, platforms, and doors all looked similar. Would be great if maybe you added a few extra words like "I'm on level 3 left-hand side looking forwards" or maybe a small graphic with things like "L2 front LH side". I am definitely going to box on, hopefully, I will get my bearings and figure out where you are better as it progresses. Not too much to do in the way of fix-ups so it's not a real issue once I figure it out. I really love the challenge so far.
The flight deck is the front, at the beginning I'm looking towards the flight deck. When you build the frame the rest really can be up to you and the left and right are mirrors of themselves. Hope that helps somewhat. :-)
Got most of the bare bones stuff done now. What platform do you use? I found that the menu for glass corridors looks different on my PS5 it has one entry and it auto-creates corners or junctions as needed.@@ScottishRod
I'm trying to build this. Got the S class after watching your video on getting one. Oddly, it seems that the building I come out of onto the top of the ship is taller than yours is. It's making it so I can't put one piece in on the top level by the stairs. I think I have to move it all out from the entrance by a space or two. Have you noticed a change in the ship recently?😊

Phew....finally done. Just wondering how you got images onto your 'billboards'? Any posters i try to put on, seems to stick behind the white panel. The stellar rooms seem pretty naff as well, exceptionally slow/low production. Am i missing something?
I don't have most of the extra additions yet I'm assuming you need to progress through story more but I have the main actual base and a few bits extra thanks a bunch man
Why do I do this to myself now I have some work ahead of me. Wow my freighter is small and functional I can run through and grab anything or everything in about 90 seconds. Now I am going to have to totally rethink my freighter base. I think I will keep my opening room and rework everything else. Thanks for the great ideas now I have to go implement some of them.

I built my first base on the freighter with all of the specialists. Am I okay to delete those specialist rooms now that the quest arc is done? Can I rebuild the rooms later and re-hire the guys that staff the rooms?
I have legacy parts on an old save, but feel if we have had them at some stage, we should retain them across the account .. industrial parts dont look as good for 'relaxation living quarters' :(
I think if you previous had them in that account, they are still in that account but can't be purchased. But starting in creative bypasses the missing purchase option.
Just built this and its amazing. I am struggling though with the aquarium in the reinforced window. The bottom and top of the aquarium stick out. How did you get yours to not do that?
@ScottishRod I reduced it as well, but I was using the L2 R2 scale glitch and made it smaller as I can't get the locker scale glitch to work. Are those glitches technically not the same?@@ScottishRod
Been playing a few weeks. I JUST got an A class freighter today. My first freighter. I had a few bad glitches during gameplay putting my void egg 1000u down under the map... Stuck in a ravine, had kept moving, under water... So I made everything free out of frustration, unlocked everything. At least, I thought. Lol How do I get all those plans you have? I miss something new on Anomaly!?
@@debbielawson4198 unfortunately some of the rooms are legacy parts for old players. The rest you can get from the abandoned freighters and the quicksilver store.

Best of luck. Got mine about 20-30 reloads. Worth it. Even if it offers no practical advantages over b or a and it has low slots, it was worth it. Just feels right every tine i open it up and see the s badge. Turning into a forested living interior.
One big question. On the first part of the build, there is a section with silver tops and red borders. I don't know if I accidentally deleted something, but what are those units? Are they storage container rooms? It's the 2x5 row visible around the 4:15 mark.
I feel this video is being slept on with the likes, cause I copied this base and have never been happier with the looks and even more so after adding a personal touch.

Also, mine doesn't have that red roofed building that you run the main platform up to. What is that? Did you out that there or is my ship just different? I'll adjust since I got the 4 square super slots S class but I'm curious.

You'll need to create a door to go outside. You also can go into third person camera view when building. The button option is in the mini build menu. :-)
I’m new to the game and I am in AWE of your base! Just got my frist freighter too. If I’m not mistaken, you’re playing on PS? How could I have the same POV on 3:45? When I do it I can only see from the standard 3rd person view😢
@@ScottishRod its possible to improvise and build two stories with plattforms souround that plattforms with rooms and than put plattforms on top of that so it appears/look like a very big room if you enter it from outside it than has a plattform as roof/ceiling
I need help 😅 I’m pretty new to no man sky, I got myself a pirate freighter and trying to build your design, but at 13:05 u said to add a straight corridor, I can’t find that in the build menu, I don’t know if there’s something I have to do to find extra building parts or what? 🤷♂️
I wish they offered the legacy rooms to any legacy player, not jus the legacy save. Many of the legacy items are so nice (freighter and planet side stuff).
@@ScottishRod I haven't tried creative yet, though I'd like to use it on my main save. Sadly it probably will never be a thing. It also feels like they wont add new building options, new rooms new housing stuff, walls, rooms, doors, etc. I hope I'm wrong. I like those extra large rooms in derelict freighters, but another item we probably wont ever get.
I tried to follow along but I didn't even finish the grow rooms when lights started flickering. Either I have some sort of power shortage or my system just can't handle massive builds with powered parts like that. 😥
Some you can get at the back of the Anomaly but I think your missing the quicksilver ones. You can get them from the merchant to the right of the Anomaly as you land inside, just before the ramp. :-)
this is a really beautiful base that puts mine to shame lol. mine is purely functional with all the basics on the bottom floor and then another 7 floors of plants for 50 stasis devices. stairs at the back and teleporters at the front of each floor. it`s more home than my main base these days haha.
I went with a circuit board farm (25) not sure if the stellar extractors are efficient enough for the gasses and I wanted it to be self contained. If they are I'll be switching to a stasis device farm. :-)

do you have to build this in creative mode or is is 100% buildable in normal mode? if you can build it in normal mode, is there an estimate on how much and what materials you need?
may be a dumb question(prolly is) but, are S-class ones larger and a different layout? my base buildable area seems larger on the deck, managed the stairs but cant seem to build second floor of tech rooms

It NEVER occurred to me to use the exterior platforms in that way. Amazing build, reminds me of a high class hotel or shopping mall.

yeah i was following along and got fucked up too he extended it by 1 at some point it’s 7x7 not 7x6 like he says. the fade cuts also make it harder to follow in my opinion.

god DAMN i now have the urge to redo my freighter's interior. I usually have it as hallways but looking at this... maybe i might take a few ideas (also the top of the HUD being full of plants is hilarious idk why)

I had no idea you could make a freighter base like that. Mine is just a few corridors and small rooms because I never tested the limits and. Always assumed the area was small.

error @ 5min. i was confused for so long as to why my grow rooms werent connecting properly with the stairs and its because right after you said "6 platforms" (on the second floor balcony) the video clipped to show 7 platforms long lol

first video ive seen of this guy but so far im loving him, his build is DOPE! plus i like the fact that he explains even the small steps that typical gamers would already know how to do, like rotating things and whatever. as someone who games with a few older guys they dont always have the same "gamer sense" that others do.

Firstly love the base design and the fact that there are so many big spaces but they are all full of decoration. I'm a 2000-plus-hour player looking for a challenge. Thought I'd give this a go following your video. Please take this as constructive feedback as that is how I'm thinking. I am struggling to follow along, not because it's too fast and yeah I have slowed down to 0.5x but as you jump to a new area and as the base is so large, with places looking very similar, it's hard to figure out where you are working. I know for you it's second nature as you walk around things you have made.
An example, right at the start was building the first block of rooms and then putting the main deck down on level 1, however as you had some existing buildings when you started I put the first set of stairs at the main flight deck end, not the far end. I also put the initial platforms at the wrong end, then made the grow rooms and nothing looked like what you had when I tried to add the corridors up to grow rooms on L3, then went to put in the storage rooms, I struggled to figure out where they went but saw they were between two stairs then also saw part of the freighter. I guessed wrongly which meant I got it wrong and put the storage rooms on level 2. Watched a lot more and couldn't often figure out what floor you were on or what direction you were facing as rooms, platforms, and doors all looked similar.
Would be great if maybe you added a few extra words like "I'm on level 3 left-hand side looking forwards" or maybe a small graphic with things like "L2 front LH side".
I am definitely going to box on, hopefully, I will get my bearings and figure out where you are better as it progresses. Not too much to do in the way of fix-ups so it's not a real issue once I figure it out. I really love the challenge so far.
The flight deck is the front, at the beginning I'm looking towards the flight deck. When you build the frame the rest really can be up to you and the left and right are mirrors of themselves. Hope that helps somewhat. :-)
Got most of the bare bones stuff done now. What platform do you use? I found that the menu for glass corridors looks different on my PS5 it has one entry and it auto-creates corners or junctions as needed.@@ScottishRod
PS5, you can open up the sub menu by clicking on it, maybe hitting triangle. 🙂
Muscle memory can be an issue when trying to describe an action. LOL

I'm trying to build this. Got the S class after watching your video on getting one. Oddly, it seems that the building I come out of onto the top of the ship is taller than yours is. It's making it so I can't put one piece in on the top level by the stairs. I think I have to move it all out from the entrance by a space or two. Have you noticed a change in the ship recently?😊

Why do I do this to myself now I have some work ahead of me. Wow my freighter is small and functional I can run through and grab anything or everything in about 90 seconds. Now I am going to have to totally rethink my freighter base. I think I will keep my opening room and rework everything else. Thanks for the great ideas now I have to go implement some of them.

I built my first base on the freighter with all of the specialists. Am I okay to delete those specialist rooms now that the quest arc is done? Can I rebuild the rooms later and re-hire the guys that staff the rooms?
Yes you can delete them, once you have them those missions are done. :-)
I have legacy parts on an old save, but feel if we have had them at some stage, we should retain them across the account .. industrial parts dont look as good for 'relaxation living quarters' :(
I think if you previous had them in that account, they are still in that account but can't be purchased. But starting in creative bypasses the missing purchase option.

Just built this and its amazing. I am struggling though with the aquarium in the reinforced window. The bottom and top of the aquarium stick out. How did you get yours to not do that?

@ScottishRod I reduced it as well, but I was using the L2 R2 scale glitch and made it smaller as I can't get the locker scale glitch to work. Are those glitches technically not the same?@@ScottishRod
Been playing a few weeks. I JUST got an A class freighter today. My first freighter. I had a few bad glitches during gameplay putting my void egg 1000u down under the map... Stuck in a ravine, had kept moving, under water... So I made everything free out of frustration, unlocked everything. At least, I thought. Lol
How do I get all those plans you have? I miss something new on Anomaly!?
@@debbielawson4198 unfortunately some of the rooms are legacy parts for old players. The rest you can get from the abandoned freighters and the quicksilver store.

Best of luck. Got mine about 20-30 reloads. Worth it. Even if it offers no practical advantages over b or a and it has low slots, it was worth it. Just feels right every tine i open it up and see the s badge.

You'll need to create a door to go outside. You also can go into third person camera view when building. The button option is in the mini build menu. :-)
I’m new to the game and I am in AWE of your base! Just got my frist freighter too. If I’m not mistaken, you’re playing on PS? How could I have the same POV on 3:45? When I do it I can only see from the standard 3rd person view😢
It’s muscle memory so it’s hard to remember but it’s probably pushing down on the left thumb but check the menu info that pops up that will tell you.
Legacy parts ? I dont have that stuff. Where do you get them from ? An my favorite question: Is it possible to have rooms which are two stories high ?
They were parts that got removed for new players unfortunately. you can't go two stories high, it would be great if you could. 🙂
@@ScottishRod its possible to improvise and build two stories with plattforms souround that plattforms with rooms and than put plattforms on top of that so it appears/look like a very big room if you enter it from outside it than has a plattform as roof/ceiling
I need help 😅 I’m pretty new to no man sky, I got myself a pirate freighter and trying to build your design, but at 13:05 u said to add a straight corridor, I can’t find that in the build menu, I don’t know if there’s something I have to do to find extra building parts or what? 🤷♂️
If you click on the build items with the double line it opens up to all the variants. 🙂

i just started playing - it's a shame we can't get any of those legacy freighter parts - they make much better rooms for living spaces. Awesome build.
I wish they offered the legacy rooms to any legacy player, not jus the legacy save. Many of the legacy items are so nice (freighter and planet side stuff).
I seem to be get it on new creative saves for now. 🙂
@@ScottishRod I haven't tried creative yet, though I'd like to use it on my main save. Sadly it probably will never be a thing. It also feels like they wont add new building options, new rooms new housing stuff, walls, rooms, doors, etc. I hope I'm wrong. I like those extra large rooms in derelict freighters, but another item we probably wont ever get.

From your primary save. If you haven’t got a normal freighter get that first as the game priorities them. Then go for the Pirate. 😊

@@billythekid1729 it’s in the sub item menu, if you follow the menu prop it opens up and gives you the choose.
I tried to follow along but I didn't even finish the grow rooms when lights started flickering. Either I have some sort of power shortage or my system just can't handle massive builds with powered parts like that. 😥
I've had the flickering lights in the past, it's annoying but not a rendering issue but a bug. I thought it had been patched.

Some you can get at the back of the Anomaly but I think your missing the quicksilver ones. You can get them from the merchant to the right of the Anomaly as you land inside, just before the ramp. :-)

No it's the same across all freighters. :-)
this is a really beautiful base that puts mine to shame lol. mine is purely functional with all the basics on the bottom floor and then another 7 floors of plants for 50 stasis devices. stairs at the back and teleporters at the front of each floor. it`s more home than my main base these days haha.
I went with a circuit board farm (25) not sure if the stellar extractors are efficient enough for the gasses and I wanted it to be self contained. If they are I'll be switching to a stasis device farm. :-)
@@ScottishRod oh i never thought of that, as you said they`ve been broken up til now (thank you for that info btw 🙂) are they capable of producing 12.5k radon, sulphurine and nitrogen for 25 satsis devices?

do you have to build this in creative mode or is is 100% buildable in normal mode? if you can build it in normal mode, is there an estimate on how much and what materials you need?
You'll need a lot of materials but fully buildable in normal.

may be a dumb question(prolly is) but, are S-class ones larger and a different layout? my base buildable area seems larger on the deck, managed the stairs but cant seem to build second floor of tech rooms
No they're all the same size, the only difference is the supercharge slots and the jump might be slightly more.
