Taking shrieker nests and spore spewers is good, but it doesn't always one shot a charger or bile titan, and I think all eagles can take shrieker nests and spore spewers. The flame thrower is more consistent and good for hordes too 😅😊
very true. Always believed they are some sort of Rare Charger who just looks different. Now i think its the way around. I see 80% Behemoth Chargers and 20% normal ones.
It also was just a reskin if I remember correctly as a single anti tank head shot would kill it just as readily as a normal charger, they buffed it into a legit new enemy type when they made it more common
@@jmjon9 Correct. Before the update I only saw them defending the citizen evacuation escort objective areas, and they seemed to have the same durability as normal chargers. They definitely got a serious buff in during that major patch. You pretty much have to treat them like a charger-shaped bile-titan in terms of durability.
This. My strategy with the AMR usually starts with taking out each of the machine guns at front with 3-4 shots for each machine gun. Then I get underneath the strider to shoot the belly of the beast.
YES! But it’s even better than that. It takes out the chin mounting gatling guns in 2 shots leaving the factory strider pretty toothless. And then takes out the whole thing in about 1 mag to the eye.
Laser cannon can solve any problem, but not quickly or easily. This makes it amazing if your teammates are bogged down elsewhere wasting time on a pointless fight. It opens up the whole map for high-mobility roaming play. Perfect for Helldive. Edit: I don't take anything else. To clarify, I only play bots. I hear Bile Titans are an extremely specific equipment check and I have no idea if the laser cannon would pass. I agree with the sentiment that it seems designed for bots... but I have to say, when you wished you were using something else, it was probably a different weapon each time.
Yes. It's so well rounded, and there's no worry about reloads. When you ar being chased by gunships and cannot afford to have to stand still to reload your AC or miss with your EAT, it just works. It's the only enemy that let's you reliably shred any gunship patrols.
@@danielbob2628 Can't believe he put flamethrower on S tier despite it's shortcomings (unkillable targets like titans and shriekers). Meanwhile the laser cannon can actually kill ALL bots but it's B tier? Holy miss.
I think its funny cuz in my opinion the laser canon is very good against many small enemys and in combo with the laser Rover its OP af like idk why people dont like it with Terminids
10:35 Sadly, This is outdated, and they can no longer go through armor like the charger's. In light of this however, it is still one of if not my favorite weapon and no nerfs can change that.
Quasar easily should be moved to B tier for robots, because you can just get slapped so much by devastators or even the weakest base enemies and miss your shot due to flinch alone. I really think it should have faster start up.
Which is exactly why it should be ranked lower. You can make it work but you have to use extra tricks or tactics that aren't necessary with other support weapons @@johndiddilyjoe6258
yeah this weapon is in theory amazing against devestators and gunships, but in practice only somewhat consistent as long as you also bring the shield gen pack to avoid at least some flinches right before your shot goes off
I agree with most of this list but there are a few issues I personally have.. The MG-43 against the Terminids should be A Tier, that fact its had MEDIUM Armor pen allows it to cut chaff and higher threat bugs in half and on low to moderate rates of fire it does so very efficiently. The Stalwart also get A Tier against the bugs, if it had medium armor pen it would be the perfect weapon against the bugs, you can reload on the move, cut chaff down like your a lead farmer, it just struggles with anything medium armored. On the bot front, both of those machine guns are D tier, just take something else. My Bug Exterminator build is as follows: Light Engineer Armor (+2 Nades, Recoil reduction when crouching) BR-14 Adjudicator (I know how to use this thing and I make short work of just about everything using it, plus it reloads faster than the Tenderizer) MG-43 MMG OR Stalwart LMG (MMG is set to Medium or Low ROF, Stalwart is set to High ROF) Senator Revolver OR Grenade Pistol Impact Frags Resupply Backpack My Tin Can Crusher Build is as follows: Heavy Engineer Armor OR Medium Engineer Armor (I typically run heavy but sometimes you need the extra mobility) R-163 Diligence Counter Sniper OR AR-63 Tenderizer (Both are good, with the Tenderizer you NEED to land headshots to make the most of it, and run it in SEMI-AUTO ONLY) Anti-Material Rifle (this ALWAYS gets paired with the Resupply Backpack), pretty much like the video says, there is not much the tin cans can throw at you that you can't answer back with the AMR. P-113 Verdict (This gun SUCKS against the Bugs, but against the tin cans, its fantastic, just aim for the heads and fire away, its saved my ass more times than I care to count) Impact Frags OR Stun Grenades (if you go stun grenade you NEED to have something to take out bot factories as a stratagem) Resupply Backpack The reason why I don't run an Auto-Cannon is the backpack slot issue, unless you have a friend carry it for you that sticks to you like glue and gives you on demand reloads.
the standard machine gun is a beast with the new armor that boost the ergonomic stats on the bug front. It literally controls better than the Stalwart (without that armor buff obviously). The machine guns are just in the right spot IMO. - Stalwart is the best to clear off chaff (so it shines for bugs but not for bots) - HMG is the best to kill heavy/high hp units because of that high penetration (so perfect for bots but not as much for bugs) - MG-43 is the in between that can do everything well enough (better on the bugs side but still passable on the bots one).
@@StephaneLevs Agreed, I absolutely adore the mg-43 because of how versatile you are, it can even mow down devastators with hilarious ease, and the reload is quick enough I can find moments to do so easily, just gotta be smart about it.
I prefer MG-43 over Stalwart for bugs. Stalwart is awesome horde clear, but standing in front of a bile spewer REALLY makes you miss that medium armor penetration. And its surprisingly good against chargers! Set to max fire rate, throw a stun grenade and shove half a magazine up the chargers backside.
Enjoying your content so far. Informative with objective points to support your opinion. keep it up! The only time I've found the laser cannon useful is when you pair it with the sickle. Their cool downs are timed to where you can swap back and fourth and NEVER have to stop shooting. For the terminids you focus on the trash bugs when your sickle is out, and then when its time to swap you use the laser cannon to clean up some of the higher armored units like the hive guard and brood commanders.
The EAT is S tear for automatons, mainly because it has a cooldown of only a minute and you get 2 of them, so if you’re in a sticky situation or there’s a bot drop, you can call them down in time to shoot down a dropship or heavy enemy. It’s even better on defense missions because you’re staying in the same location, and with it, the constant bot drops you can easily shoot down.
EAT is also the only anti-tank that lets you take another support as well. I litter objectives with EATs or call one down when I see a charger, and pick my MG back up once I dealt with the charger or bile titan.
Mg 43, imo is the best of the three. It can go through medium armor and does insane damage. The only downside is reloading, but even then, just get about 20 feet away from bugs and reload and dodge if they get too close to you.
People who tend to hate on the Standard MG have either never used it or are just dumbasses it’s by far the best of the machine guns and if you position yourself properly as good players should it reload time is negligible. Remember your players Helldivers not CoD
@@2MeterLP gotta bring an eruptor or explosive crossbow. That's all I run now with all the bile spewers lately. Medium pen feels solid on the crossbow
Legit. If you listen to most online opinions the game is impossible unless you run specific loadouts. The reality is that there isn't a single loadout that can't complete helldive.
If you want the effect of the Airburst Rocket, just take Eagle Cluster Strike. Its does the same but better. Bigger area, same amount of uses, same "reload" speed except you dont have to kneel, and it doesnt take a backpack or support weapon slot.
4:14 AMR is one of the quickest ways to kill a factory strider, break off front machine guns and it takes 1 1/2 clips from the AMR to the under belly to fully kill one, takes less than 10 seconds
I'm only level 85 or so, but this list is so freaking accurate in my experience. The only thing I'd change is maybe bump Automaton lasercannon to A tier. It essentially fills the same exact role as the AMR, but just does it slightly worse for the tradeoff of infinite ammo, one tier down feels right. But man, this list just feels spot on.
i like laser cannon more than AMR tbh. its just easier for me when i have constant beam, see it and can move to the target. Maybe i'd like AMR more if my aim was better, but i like LC more cuz of inf ammo, constant beam, good damage and being able to kill objectives (Bot's AA system for example, or dropships at the airbase) for a few seconds.
For bugs the grenade launcher should be moved up to S tier. The autocannon and stalwart should be switched having the ability to use a supple pack is too good.
@@SuperDuperHappyTime unless it's the grenade launcher/HMG which really need a supply pack because of the low amount of ammo. without it, you really nerf yourself on those weapons IMO. But yeah, otherwise, most weapons really dont need a supply pack. It can be nice especially if you use a primary that also use a lot of ammo (like the tenderiser or the plasma shotty) but it's certainly not necessary.
Arc main here, you made points for someone who doesn't understand how to fully use it which is fine, its not easy to learn. It cannot kill heavy fast but will clear a horde faster than a Stalwart or Machinegun. At Haz 10 when you have no ammo after clearing a breach while another breaks I'll juat continue the fight till you get back. Learn your weapons before judging
A correction and a few disagreements, otherwise I agree! The Airburst, its actually better vs bots! If you hit tanks and turrets at the right place, its possible to oneshot them by having the cluster projectiles hit the weak point! Similarly its possible for fabricators and hulks too. But it needs to be right spot, so it becomes very skill dependent and that limits it, I would say B tier bots if you know how, but its worthless against gunships so C tier is fair. MG43 doesn't need to head shot devastators and can kill striders, placing at D bots seems harsh? The Spear being S ahead of the flamethrower? It can kill bile titans and structures, but even with 4 shots it can be lacking, considering its not guaranteed 1 hit kill. The Laser cannon, shouldn't it be A at least on bots? I think its feedback and visibility is really bad for the wielder, so I wouldn't give it high marks either, but it can kill factory striders and gunships without consuming ammo.
Lately jve been seeing people use the flamethrower more than the auto canon the last weeks or so I’ve barley seen anyone brjng the auto canon and I’m glad cause it shows the weapon balancing is working
I won't stand for this arc thrower slander against bugs. It isn't S tier but it's definitely A tier. Shoot the closest target and once you get the charge down pat, you can rapid fire it pretty quick. Takes about 8 shots to a chargers head to kill it, and its very easy to avoid friendly fire, just don't have your teammate on the other side of a target or any arc target, shooting a bug to the left or right of somebody is completely safe. The stun is godly and I can lock down a bug breach and not have to move back at all. Can 2 tap nursing spewers, 3 to 4 tap normal spewers. Only problem is close combat right at your feet, and that's why you dive back or just swap to the blitzer. Its great
I like using the laser cannon against automatons, but I always find myself going back to the autocannon simply because the lack of any stagger is crippling to me. Your weapon basically needs to have some sort of flinch/stagger, or else you just don't have enough survivability to last
you’re sleeping on the arc thrower for bugs, it 6 shots chargers to the head and is on par with the flamethrower for ad clear. It also has stagger which makes it great for bile spewers and can finish off bile titans after a rail cannon or 110mm. Should at least be A tier but I’d put it in S
Talking from many hours of experience, stalwart is still really solid against automatons, definitely not D tier. The only things the stalwart can't kill in the automaton lineup are the heavily armored stuff, because with devastators the stalwart can actually kill with headshots, which means that it actually has a surprisingly high amount of usability against them.
The spear is a bit overrated imo but a good weapon overall. You have to be careful about your distance, positioning, and your ammo when it comes to most targets. Half the time, it’ll take you two shots for hulks or bile titans because the projectile slightly misses the head, even if youre shooting from a distance. It’s great for destroying those big guys but also limited in its one and only job. Still like the weapon but as a certified pyromaniac, I’ll stick to my flamethrower (or HMG for bots)
Laser cannon is one of the top tier weapons against bots. Kills machine guns under strider head within second and can kill it under the striders under belly weak spot, has unlimited ammo if you aren’t a shit player with it and can manage it (don’t use on hot planets really, use on any other planet especially cold). Can take out gunships, hulks, really any bot enemy. Can combo with a jump pack to land on a tank and laser the weak spot. It’s GOATED
i recently bought eruptor and paired with stalwart with 1150rpm and it absolutely shreds terminids theres nothing that can stop me even on high difficulties, definetly try it out
@@PopePlatinumBeats if you havent tried it recently, it's honestly pretty good now. I still miss the shrapnel but the dmg is enough to do a pretty solid job to kill the heavier/higher hp unit while still proving that support capability to clear off those nest/frabricator from a long distance. And in a pinch, it's really not bad to clear off the small bugs (1 shot can usually kill 4-5 of those smaller one, maybe 2 shots for the same amount of the hunters since they are never really grouped up close enough).
hey, love your videos. I've been finding them super helpful and enjoyable. Just wondering, could you do an up to date tier list for primary weapons? If not, that's alright. Thank you and keep up the great work!
Plus the Stalwart is the greatest against all the infantry bots on dif 7 - you can take them down faster than they are spawned. I had a few hundred kills against a particularly bothersome mission where we got swarmed by them. Video author also said things that are downright wrong - using the MG 43 at great ranges is awesome - you can lay down and just reap the enemy.
I REALLY like the laser cannon. It has no recoil, its accurate as hell, doesnt need to be reloaded, doesnt require a bsckpsck slot. Its down side is that is has ZERO stagger and time to kill on certain enemies is kind of high but it mskes you tsrget weakspots and makes you a better player. Much better for bots but it can do well against bugs. You use this on a cold planet with the sickle and you can just switch between guns and shoot non-stop practically. NEWS UPDATE: apparently now laser weapons can set enemies on fire
Hard to believe you think the stalwart is a better pick than the MG43. The smaller mag size and stationary reload are really its only downfalls. It shreds enemies in less rounds, and deals with medium armored enemies with ease. It’s so much fun to lay down and start laying down volleys of fire with the MG43. Genuinely my fav machine gun in the game for bugs.
I think the guy who made the video doesn't know how to kneel and aim ( plus limit fire rate ). I am just in love with the MG43. That being said, on dif 7 against bots, the Stalwart is definetly supreme. You'll never have any issue with infantry and the berzerkers.
Airburst is my favorite when doing egg missions you can sometimes shoot one rocket clear whole nest like 100m out its so satisfying but thats the only time i use it lol
I just can’t stop taking the Spear in a 4 stack. It’s so comfy with the better targeting. The MG sentry with the lower CD is much fun to plop down at the start of a fight. It will take out a ton of chaff then be ready to go two minutes later.
I disagree with your assessment of the nade launcher. It slaps against automatons as long as you have an ally with anti-tank weapons. It takes down everything below hulks with ease, and is great for dealing with the hordes of devastators the game throws at you in higher difficulties. Ever since they increased the number of little guys, it definitely is a solid pick against bots. Also I think the mechanical differences between the rocket launchers warrants ranking them separately. The recoilless has the best tempo but has to reload and requires a backpack, the quasar has decent tempo but can be recharged while you use your primary on little guys, and EATS can double tap enemies and has a place as a "secondary" support weapon, like keeping a weaker support for general use, but pulling out EATS whenever you need to take down factory striders/tanks/bile titans.
I used to run Quasar/Sickle vs ze bugz. Now I'm a fanboy of Flamethrower/Breaker Incendiary. I also replaced Eagle Airstrike with Napalm, because I can easily down chargers with the flamethrower and Napalm is perfect for dropping on breaches and killing 20+ bugs in a single streak withour breaking a sweat. And for titans I'm still using 500 kg. Shield backpack, +2 nades armor, explosive impact nades and nade pistol and I'm pretty much good to go. The only downside is I can no longer finish secondary objectives from across the map, but my kill counts went from 200 on the average to more like 400. Both builds are still cool though, depends on what you're in the mood for.
Airburst has always been cool to me because it feels like you have a portable stratigem. Normally when I am going into an abiective I like to throw in some strats to clear enemies and prevent a breach or drop, but airburst can clear them without wasting that strat
Ok, Railgun is a lot of fun to play against Terminids right now and can strip Armor off of Chargers and kill BTs, move to the top of B tier. AMR kills Factory Striders just fine, but it may take 1 and a half mags. Laser cannon with shield pack moves it to the bottom of S-tier on Automatons. Autocannon needs to drop down to the top of A tier because it isn't ammo efficient against structures but can eventually kill them. Railgun completely falls off against Gunships and Factory striders, I can't use it on that front until it gets more changes.
"Railgun is a lot of fun to play against Terminids right now and can strip Armor off of Chargers and kill BTs" Fun is one thing, but efficient is another, so I dont know... I would have agree before, but not so much since the charges to patrols. There's a lot more chargers now, and you needs 3 shots just to strip their legs armor of a behemoth (or something like 6 shots to blow it's head) which is just too much time and effort IMO. Even on the bile titan, you need something like 12+ max charge on it's heads... So, it's hard to justify on the bug side (especially when you only have 21 shots total) other than it's fun (which isnt exactly the point of the tier list) "Autocannon isn't ammo efficient against structures" I have never run out of ammo with it (especially when the superior packing methodology is working). Unless you use like it's your only weapon you have (so no primary and no secondary), you should never really run out of ammo. The small ammo pack give enough to never really have to worry about it. Im also not sure what you mean by "structures" exactly? Spore/shreiker nest? Yeah, it's not the autocannon job to take those out. You should have 3 other stratagems slots to help with that. You can even use a HMG sentry if you wanted xD They really dont impact the performance of a weapon IMO.
The only thing I disagree with is the arc thrower and railgun for bugs. I personally think arc thrower is top tier crowd control with its knock-back and armor penetration. Railgun in unsafe mode is my favorite for bugs because of its precision and handling. But using it to kill a titan is a last resort.
Also the laser cannon and Scyth combo is insane. Got my first 1k kills with that cause you can literary shoot the whole game through. Just gotta know your movement
All things considering the primary gun I like to take against the box are is All ready to ammo hungry. That's why I like to take the quasar when it comes to the bop front. Bugs I even get more insane with stems being the only thing I really need due to the loadout of Blitzer quasar and guard dog Rover.
I'm so glad the spear and the HMG are genuinely good now. I liked them before, but the downsides were huge. Now they're fantastic and so far I have yet to play an op without the HMG
Spear is S tier in bugs? Wait till you run out of ammo and had to wait for resupply. It is also very hard to one-shot chargers or bile titans, since the targeting lands top down.
i think the Stalwart has to be looked at differently..it should be brought in as a primary stand-in and your actual primary should be something strong and maybe niche that can handle medium enemies and special situations like a breaker incendiary or the eruptor or diligence or scythe or arc blitzer or torcher.
I take the GL on every mission and most of the time I top out the number of kills. Combined with a rocket sentry for the heavies and the ammo backpack the GL just shredded massive number of anything. No way it's C tier on bots or a on Bugs.
The only difference in opinion I really have is AMR is better than the HMG on the bot front, and Classic machine gun can eat through all the chaff bots and even the strikers, deveststors, and berserker as long as you aim for their hip regions putting it in the B tier for me.
I would put Quasar a little lower against terminids. I guess that's a skill issue, I don't have balls to stand there and wind it up while a charger is, well, charging me haha
Firing your Quasar right at the charger's head and dodging 0,1 sec before it hits you is the most adrenaline packed activity I can imagine in this game. It's literally a game of chicken.
Dead wrong about the MG vs Stalwart and HMG vs bugs. The HMG's ammo capacity makes it worthless without a supply pack, which means you're down a bomb. The Stalwart can't kill armored units effectively, it gets clowned on by hive guard. The MG is the happy medium: it deletes bug patrols and breaches unless a charger or bile titan shows up (in which case you bomb them) and its long reload time is the most mitigatable of the three flaws of heavy to light (no ammo, long reload, no penetration respectively). Just kill everything in one mag and reloading isn't an issue. You DO have to lower the shot rate manually but once you do that it's the single best hoard clearing weapon in the game.
You're so incredibly *wrong* about the grenade launcher vs bots. Yes, it is vulnerable to hulks. Before stun grenades (and grenade pistol) existed, it was still worth bringing, and paired well with smokes. Now you just stun them and clean up with primary. (Nade launcher can do it in 3 shots to the vent, but you need to already be behind a hulk, it's too far to run if starting in front). It's also useless vs gunships and factory striders (AMR is great against both, you were wrong about the striders; it can take out the face lasers, and 9 or so shots to the belly kills a fully healthy strider, you just can't engage from in front until the lasers are gone via shooting them from a longer range). I pair it with the scorcher which deals well with the higher range engagements, can deal with gunships, and is especially good VS scout striders when at the wrong engagement for the nade launcher (too far or too close). Don't pair it with the JAR unless you have a strategy for gunships. It handles every kind of bot, especially devastators. It was a little average needing 3 'nades per devastator, but it was buffed and you just double tap them now, even shield devastators when aiming for the shield. What everyone is sleeping on, is that it's possibly the *best* weapon for clearing berserkers, it's more effective at cleaning out dropships from beneath than shooting them down, and you can kill tanks from a 90 degree (or even 45 degree) "flank" in about 5 nades just by hitting the back half of the turret. You don't need to flank all the way 'round until you see vents, unlike the competition. Plus you can bounce it 'round corners and you're typically killing devastators in numbers of 2+ at once.
Yo MG 43 is pretty peak on automotons it definitely deserves to be in upper C or lower B tier. Medium armor pen on it makes the devastators easier to hit chaff it has pen damage and mag size to really contend... plus although less efficient it can take out gunship basically when you bring an MG 43 your other 3 steategems can just be anti heavy strategems.. or 2 anti armor and a sentry/utility. Seriously an mg43 is atleast as good as the amr
I wanna charge in with a sword and shield while my Allie’s lay down fire lol I need melee weapons I can switch too when I run out of ammo rather then a smack with the butt of gun. I think it would look and feel really fun.
I use eats on eradication missions because i keep dieing and with the 1 min recharge, ill be able to have a rocket on standbye pretty soon after spawning
Lol @laser cannon vs bots would be B-tier. If you know how to use it it melts hulks from the front, melts flying gunships, have unlimited ammo and is one slot meaning you can bring a backpack. Paired with plasma punisher 👌
Few things i disagree. First is quasar being A tier. Especially on bots. YOu have to charge it for 3 seconds in order to fire against enemies that'll stagger you 90% of the time if you look at them. Terrible reticle to make aiming harder, and too long of a cooldown for second shot. Second one is Railgun. In automaton front nothing in game disposes devastators and hulks and both striders as fast as this one. One shot each. Considering devastators are most common enemy in higher diff and hulk being the most common big threat, i cant overstate how useful this thing is. I consistently wipe out multiple dropships solo if devastators and hulks are all they bring. Only Striders and tanks are problem which you leave to your team or use strategems. It also leaves your backpack slot open, and shield generator is such an incredible buff in high diff, game feels hardmode without it tbh.
I dont understand the spear for the terminids with it being unable to 1 shot charger behemoths, theres 4 shots max before a resupply is needed and getting to kill 2 chargers for the price doesnt feel worth it
GL in automatons deserves more love. It aint C, its B at its lowest. Ive run maybe 50 missions alone GL only and really the only things it CANT deal with are Hulks and Factory Striders. It has a learning curve for sure but when you get used to it its hard not to pick the GL and Supply Backpack. No matter the faction u are fighting.
I was so disappointed when I saw the airbust in game. I was expecting something like the commando rocket launcher. Just imagine: you call it, shoot 4 rockets when ever you want (no reload), clean up 2-3 waves of small enemies and you deal with the bigger enemies after (so the chaff version of the EAT).
Since they changed the laser cannon to what it is now, I have used it most of the time against both bots and bugs. With the peak physique armors, the laser cannon becomes a pinpoint sniper and kills faster. The sway goes away which means the damage is dealt more consistently and thus kills faster.
is it better to use the new armor that boost the ergonomic? Maybe im crazy, but at least before, it felt a bit better to use when I was running the armor that boost the recoil. It would sway a bit less which made it easier to kill stuff like hulks or to snipe at long distance. But if the new armor helps with that, I'll have to give it a try!
Quasar still slaps. Especially on cold planets, and you get a backpack. The recoiless was only bad when the Quasar basically did everything it did, but better.
Gotta disagree on laser cannon. Versus bots only the AC and spear are better. It has no dmg drop off or ballistic drop so you can snipe turrets, tanks, striders, mortars, AA and gunships from across the map. It kills striders 3rd fastest only beaten by HMG and AC. Against bugs it’s pretty good but the titan aim buff made it much harder to run underneath quickly burn the sacs which opened it up to one shot from RC or rocket pods.
Putting the ABL in D tier is manic. It takes patience, positioning and more skill to use than any other support weapon. The ability to kill a whole patrol instantly is exclusive to the ABL. You can kill tanks with it. You can kill Cannon towers with it. You can kill Fabricators (sometimes more than one at a time if you're lucky) You can kill Hulks with it. You can kill Gunships with it. You can kill devastators with it. I regularly walk out of bot missions (which I mainly fight) with 300-500 kills and a low death count. It literally makes missions far easier if you know how to use it. There's a list of things you can't kill with it, sure but it's FAR more useful than you and most of the community realize. Shame.
The laser cannon is amazing. I’m not hating, but I think it’s a skill issue on ur side. Laser cannon takes 0.5 seconds to take out a devastators, 2 seconds for hulks, a single mag per strider to the face. Doesn’t require ammo either.
I feel like everyone ranks this lower than I would. I use it all the time and it feels very strong to me. Saws off legs fast, melts weak points. Just aim at the right spots and it’s a beast.
@@ordinary_person2000 Unlike the flamethrower that can't kill specific bugs (titan, shriekers, maybe spewers), the laser cannon can actually kill ALL BOTS. So it being B tier is a massive skill issue. I'd argue las cannon is SSS tier for being the only weapon that can deal with all targets (against bots).
@15:49 the laser cannon can 1v1 bile titans, it is exceptionally great at dealing with bile spewers, nursing spewers, brood commanders, is ok against chargers because u gotta hit it in the booty cheeks. the laser cannon goes way harder than you give it credit for
We do have to count the flying enemies in since they spawn as patrols now. The Shriekers is the type of enemy that's too paper thin to bring thicc gun and too annoying for low fire rate guns (well if u skill enough its all gud). The laser canon does a clean job getting rid of them and can beam things from afar without u engaging (spear superior tho but u wouldn't waste spear on a shrieker lol). Blah blah blah... TLDR laser canon is a multi purpose tool, easy to aim, good for flying enemies AND spore from 200m away on bug fronts, and it slaps on bot front. Great vid nonetheless
I have really enjoyed this tierlist, and I atually agree with 97-99% of it too. And for the sake of conversation, I want to say, IMHO, the Grenade Launcher should be 1 tick HIGHER in B-tier for the Automatons and I think I can make an arguement for this, especially since it's damage got buffed recently, and the Arc Thrower in B-tier is considered a "Jack of all Trades," great at nothing but bad at nothing too. I think you could call the Grenade Launcher the same against the Automatons. Yes it's not the best, and it can really struggle against some larger enemies such as Hulks, and gunships obviously. But you can kill many enemies and provide some utility: -Enemies: You can kill ALL Troopers, Beserkers (as long as they're not to close) ALL Devastator types, Scout Striders, Tanks AND Cannon Towers with 1-3 hits on ALL OF THEM, but needs to be on OR near their heat sink weak spots for tanks and towers. (Have to be close to very close to the towers.) -Objectives and Utility: You can clear multiple types of Automaton objectives, such as Mortar Emplacements, AA Emplacements, Bot Fabricators (from the front vent ONLY, and closer to it), Transmission Antenna Towers, and Automaton ammo Caches. Plus the Illegal Broadcast tower (again close to it). -Other Notes: I have also cleared entire dropships of Troopers, Scout Striders, AND Devastators before they drop, by shooting up into the dropship, this can work REALLY WELL if you HAPPEN to be close enought to it, and underneath it most of the time, but risky. I can see a player using stun grenades on hulks and absolutely shredding them by hitting their rear heat sink. I think you could use this on Factory Striders by shooting their belly doors, but have NOT confirmed myself. Nothing you can do against gunships. Share your thoughts and considerations about this.
Sniping a shrieker nest/spore spewer from across the map with spear is peak gaming.
It's even better when it's bile headshot or one those cannon turret towers at 300m lol
Taking shrieker nests and spore spewers is good, but it doesn't always one shot a charger or bile titan, and I think all eagles can take shrieker nests and spore spewers. The flame thrower is more consistent and good for hordes too 😅😊
@@DaaHela yeah but with eagles you are not 300+ meters away from shrieker nest

Charger behemoth has been around for a long time. It was just very rare before and only showed up in certain locations.
@@jmjon9 gotcha, didn't realize that. I know it's seem the occasional one a long time ago but didn't realize they'd buffed it as well. Thank you

The AMR can damage factory striders too! Anywhere the Autocanon can damage them, the AMR can, too, as they both have the same armor pen value.
Yep! Mag-dumping the underside can kill it in less than 2 mags iirc
@@TotPocket I have done that quite a lot. ngl it's really fun to do it.
This. My strategy with the AMR usually starts with taking out each of the machine guns at front with 3-4 shots for each machine gun. Then I get underneath the strider to shoot the belly of the beast.
@@TotPocket And as a bonus, the recoil cant go any further up than straight vertical, so its really easy to mag dump into the belly :D
@@astrogamer158 Yeah. Ever combine it with the drop shield for gunship killing? Fish in a barrel.

laser cannon doesn't handle bug rush downs easily. It's great against bots, but bring something else for bugs
10:35 Sadly, This is outdated, and they can no longer go through armor like the charger's. In light of this however, it is still one of if not my favorite weapon and no nerfs can change that.

@@lukaszblek3152 Not for long according to the new patch!
Quasar easily should be moved to B tier for robots, because you can just get slapped so much by devastators or even the weakest base enemies and miss your shot due to flinch alone. I really think it should have faster start up.
Also it is great on cold planets
Charge it in cover, then pop up and shoot.
My Bug Exterminator build is as follows:
Light Engineer Armor (+2 Nades, Recoil reduction when crouching)
BR-14 Adjudicator (I know how to use this thing and I make short work of just about everything using it, plus it reloads faster than the Tenderizer)
MG-43 MMG OR Stalwart LMG (MMG is set to Medium or Low ROF, Stalwart is set to High ROF)
Senator Revolver OR Grenade Pistol
Impact Frags
Resupply Backpack
My Tin Can Crusher Build is as follows:
Heavy Engineer Armor OR Medium Engineer Armor (I typically run heavy but sometimes you need the extra mobility)
R-163 Diligence Counter Sniper OR AR-63 Tenderizer (Both are good, with the Tenderizer you NEED to land headshots to make the most of it, and run it in SEMI-AUTO ONLY)
Anti-Material Rifle (this ALWAYS gets paired with the Resupply Backpack), pretty much like the video says, there is not much the tin cans can throw at you that you can't answer back with the AMR.
P-113 Verdict (This gun SUCKS against the Bugs, but against the tin cans, its fantastic, just aim for the heads and fire away, its saved my ass more times than I care to count)
Impact Frags OR Stun Grenades (if you go stun grenade you NEED to have something to take out bot factories as a stratagem)
Resupply Backpack
The reason why I don't run an Auto-Cannon is the backpack slot issue, unless you have a friend carry it for you that sticks to you like glue and gives you on demand reloads.
the standard machine gun is a beast with the new armor that boost the ergonomic stats on the bug front.
It literally controls better than the Stalwart (without that armor buff obviously).
The machine guns are just in the right spot IMO.
- Stalwart is the best to clear off chaff (so it shines for bugs but not for bots)
- HMG is the best to kill heavy/high hp units because of that high penetration (so perfect for bots but not as much for bugs)
- MG-43 is the in between that can do everything well enough (better on the bugs side but still passable on the bots one).
EAT is S tier for both, but Quasar is high for bots than bugs, with Recoilless better for bugs than bots.
EAT is also the only anti-tank that lets you take another support as well. I litter objectives with EATs or call one down when I see a charger, and pick my MG back up once I dealt with the charger or bile titan.
@@2MeterLP I call EAT as soon as shooting starts, heavy or not. If it’s off cooldown and we shooting at a pack, call EAT.

Agreed. Stalwart is nice, but standing in front of a bile spewer with a Stalwart makes you really miss the MGs medium armor penetration.
People who tend to hate on the Standard MG have either never used it or are just dumbasses it’s by far the best of the machine guns and if you position yourself properly as good players should it reload time is negligible. Remember your players Helldivers not CoD

It's great with moderate to high ping too, just hold and wiggle the beam around the botheads for speedy democracy
i like laser cannon more than AMR tbh. its just easier for me when i have constant beam, see it and can move to the target. Maybe i'd like AMR more if my aim was better, but i like LC more cuz of inf ammo, constant beam, good damage and being able to kill objectives (Bot's AA system for example, or dropships at the airbase) for a few seconds.

Good vid. I really miss the Acid Gun from Helldivers 1 :/ it was SO good, you could literally solo diff-12 so ez.
It’s GOATED

I'm using crossbow with stalwart and it's pretty good you should try it if you got the warbond. Faster fire rate definitely helps

LOL! Both the MG-43 and the Stalwart are S-Tier.
The fact that you say otherwise renders this entire video null and void.
stalwart has so much ammo capacity. Im just not too sure about distance things with it
Plus the Stalwart is the greatest against all the infantry bots on dif 7 - you can take them down faster than they are spawned. I had a few hundred kills against a particularly bothersome mission where we got swarmed by them. Video author also said things that are downright wrong - using the MG 43 at great ranges is awesome - you can lay down and just reap the enemy.
Spear and expendable rocket or supply pack hmg is my literal go to setup every time
I REALLY like the laser cannon.
If Airburst had fire or gas it would be better
I just can’t stop taking the Spear in a 4 stack. It’s so comfy with the better targeting. The MG sentry with the lower CD is much fun to plop down at the start of a fight. It will take out a ton of chaff then be ready to go two minutes later.
note: the airburst rocket launcher is REALLY GOOD against defence campaings
Let me get this straight you put the Flame Thrower in S Teir for bugs but the MG 43 in B Teir?
What ever your smoking I want some you're clearly high
"Railgun is a lot of fun to play against Terminids right now and can strip Armor off of Chargers and kill BTs"
Fun is one thing, but efficient is another, so I dont know...
So, it's hard to justify on the bug side (especially when you only have 21 shots total) other than it's fun (which isnt exactly the point of the tier list)
"Autocannon isn't ammo efficient against structures"
I have never run out of ammo with it (especially when the superior packing methodology is working).
Ahhh, old flamethrower. How I used to laugh while using it, maniacally of course.
Burst rocket launcher is a fun rocket launcher. You bring it for fun. Fun is good.
All things considering the primary gun I like to take against the box are is All ready to ammo hungry. That's why I like to take the quasar when it comes to the bop front. Bugs I even get more insane with stems being the only thing I really need due to the loadout of Blitzer quasar and guard dog Rover.
The charger behemoth was not added in a patch, it has always been in the game, you can find them at the main objective of 40 min rescue missions
Do not use an autocannon to shoot a charge in the butt. Go for the rear of the legs to do serious damage
I'm so glad the spear and the HMG are genuinely good now. I liked them before, but the downsides were huge. Now they're fantastic and so far I have yet to play an op without the HMG
fellow hmg main - big bullets strong together!
IF you really wanna run it and make it fit or prefer a horde clearer with hella ammo
By far the best tier list I have seen
I take the GL on every mission and most of the time I top out the number of kills. Combined with a rocket sentry for the heavies and the ammo backpack the GL just shredded massive number of anything. No way it's C tier on bots or a on Bugs.
The only difference in opinion I really have is AMR is better than the HMG on the bot front, and Classic machine gun can eat through all the chaff bots and even the strikers, deveststors, and berserker as long as you aim for their hip regions putting it in the B tier for me.
“Clankers” it’s the best slur in history
Grenade Launcher is the best Anti-Bot-Drop weapon. Dropshop hovering above, just pump nades into it and watch the scrap rain down
Plus if you learn the arc of it you can hit bot fabricators from pretty far away, and it's probably the easiest way to deal with scout striders.
ironically kills them more consistently than the dropship landing on them
I would switch grenade Launcher/Autocannon spots on Terminids but otherwise agree with you on most everything.
I would put Quasar a little lower against terminids. I guess that's a skill issue, I don't have balls to stand there and wind it up while a charger is, well, charging me haha
Quasar is the most overrated weapon in the game.
You will never convince me that the Stalwart is better than the MG. Clears hordes and KILLS mediums? Underrated tbh
Here after the flamethrower nerf😭
im happy ppl acknowledge the hmg, its my fav weapon and i like running it as a joggernaut with heavy armor and a supply backpack
commando is S tier now. also the AMR does pretty much what the counter sniper does
Great tier list. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you 🙏 i have been off of helldivers for a while, this got me to hop back on and try things out :)
And now commando is outdoing the eat, spear and recoiless all at once
Agreed. We need a space marine chainsaw shotgun
Yeah airbust rocket launcher. If you use it more and more. It just amazing and helps in aoe based kills. Only for terminids
Been using flamethrower since i unlocked it for bugs and have never looked back
I dont understand the spear for the terminids with it being unable to 1 shot charger behemoths, theres 4 shots max before a resupply is needed and getting to kill 2 chargers for the price doesnt feel worth it
Bro, the grenade launcher can kill chargers just shoot the ground below them a few times
Welp, F for the flamethrower as of the latest patch
It’s not that bad
GL in automatons deserves more love. It aint C, its B at its lowest. Ive run maybe 50 missions alone GL only and really the only things it CANT deal with are Hulks and Factory Striders.
It has a learning curve for sure but when you get used to it its hard not to pick the GL and Supply Backpack. No matter the faction u are fighting.
Grenade launcher should be higher on the bot list. Its in my loadout and I have saved my team against hordes of Devastators more than once
very solid list. I would have swap a couple of things 1 tier above or lower but nothing major.
@@StephaneLevs the new armor def helps more. Standing it's like crouching, crouching is like being prone and prone is crazy.
@@xxthewarlord1530xx damn, that's awesome!
Quasar cannon on release: 🗿
Now: 😐
Recoilless Rifle, EAT 17 , Spear on release: 😐
Now: 🗿
Quasar still slaps.
You can kill Fabricators (sometimes more than one at a time if you're lucky)
You can kill Hulks with it.
Shame.
The Impaler just gave me Half Life flashbacks.
How do I use ammo back pack on my self
Says “no F tier” then immediately makes a good case for airburst launcher to be F tier 😏
@@ReignSurvives yeah, it just requires a tad bit of such a rare substance by the name of “skill”
@15:49 the laser cannon can 1v1 bile titans, it is exceptionally great at dealing with bile spewers, nursing spewers, brood commanders, is ok against chargers because u gotta hit it in the booty cheeks. the laser cannon goes way harder than you give it credit for
11:07 am i the only one that is not OK with chaff clear weapons is the best weapon to deal with chargers? It makes no sense as well...
On one hand, spear tracking is fixed, yay 🙂. On the other hand- I’m not a cool hipster for using it anymore now that’s it’s meta 😔
I am very fond of the laz cannon
Really good list, honestly
But you can kill many enemies and provide some utility:
-Enemies: You can kill ALL Troopers, Beserkers (as long as they're not to close) ALL Devastator types, Scout Striders, Tanks AND Cannon Towers with 1-3 hits on ALL OF THEM, but needs to be on OR near their heat sink weak spots for tanks and towers. (Have to be close to very close to the towers.)
-Objectives and Utility: You can clear multiple types of Automaton objectives, such as Mortar Emplacements, AA Emplacements, Bot Fabricators (from the front vent ONLY, and closer to it), Transmission Antenna Towers, and Automaton ammo Caches.
