I like how the game starts off by giving you the Liberator, Punisher and Defender first. All 3 incredibly solid guns you can run all the way to Helldive
Seriously the base keeps do some serious work. I'm trying to learn the Blitzer since I adore the arc thrower. It certainly has an advantage when you get rushed by a brood mother or warrior. I jumped back on HD1 and realized almost every weapon is usable in the full game. Even Stalwart is a primary in HD1, what I wouldn't do to bring that bastard with me without a stratagem.
After a few uses with it, I hated it right away and never touched it again, Imma give it another shot on my next runs, would rover be good with it to help with close range encounters?
Your take on the Breaker is kind of crazy imo. Everyone I talked to and most ccs I follow seem in agreement that the Breaker is at worse A tier now. No range, damage, or spread nerfs just a slight increase in recoil and 3 less shots to bring it from Top tier to C tier? That does sound more like a personal enjoyment thing.
I completely agree with him, it’s a reload simulator and sometimes it won’t reload because of the reload bug. Slugger feels much better and doesn’t have that problem. Won’t be surprised if slugger nerf comes soon though.
Watching him use it was a little frustrating. He wastes a lot more ammo than he needs to, going full auto and wasting an entire mag on two bugs that should only take one shell each.
the sickle is basically just the liberator but with infinite ammo and less recoil. Even on hot planets it is pretty viable because it is still very fast to reload if you overheat it and you get plenty of canisters.
The other thing I don't see anyone understanding about the laser weapons is that planet temperature has zero effect on how fast they overheat, it only effects how fast they cool down (or lose heat)
@@cavemanbonk8320 Are you sure about that? The exact wording on the effects in-game are "Icy temperatures reduce rate of fire and delay heat buildup in weapons" as well as "High temperatures increase stamina drain and speed up heat buildup in weapons"
I mostly agree but the breaker is way too low. It still has the exact same crazy DPS as before just with less free sustain at any range. It's still a top option, far above the punisher p and liberator p. Your stance on the balancing philosophy is valid, but I find it applies way more strongly to the railgun than the breaker.
I don’t think so. It’s really nice until 6 difficult. Above that, useless. When you have only 13 ammo and 35 bugs around you, you need a better option. Than you can say “take a support weapon for that”, but than you’re loosing a spot. The incendiary shotgun now is waaaay better option, for instance. You can just shoot a lot, with less damage, but with benefits of the flames (some enemies seems to stop when on fire) and even missing some shots, having a better result overall.
@@gustavofoltzlacchini1796 ur coping OMEGA HARD if you think that incendiary is better than normal breaker. It still has crazy dmg output, relaod speed is very quick and honestly, if you cant clear enemies with its insane dps ur either shit at aiming or shit at positioning. I can easily use it in diff 9 both against bots and bugs wiht 0 problems. Easily still goes to top 4 best guns along with Sickle, slugger and punisher (not in any particular order)
@@veetutus6236 it’s not about skill. It’s about how efficient it is. If you want to use breaker go ahead and use it. It’s not bad, it’s just worse than the other option. I also play on Helldiver, if you’re thinking that “oh i PlAy BeTeR tHaN hIm” thing.
Breaker in C is absolutely wild. The damage is so high that enemies get shredded. I often fire too many shots, and I use the gun in semi auto. The Breaker is still S tier.
So I wanna mention something that might shed some light onto armor pen. Medium Pen Weapons can not only penetrate more armored enemies but it can also allow you to keep dealing full damage to enemies. Ex. if you shoot a Liberator P at the head of the Brood Commander it will take less shots to behead it compared to the normal liberator. I feel like not many people know of this so thought I'd mention it
You didn't even mention the worst part about the counter sniper: the ridiculous, worse than AMR or autocannon, cartoon level weapon sway. It feels like a glitch how bad it is.
I swear its bugged, it's harder to aim than the support weapon sniper. It looks like it was intended to be the middle ground between the Diligence and Anti-Material but it's worse than both.
At least u guys can play, idk wtf is going on this days, diablo 4 insane graphics game is garbage, this game super fun unstable as Fk i cant even play it....
Interesting video. Maybe just slow down on calling the dev of the game you play so much “stupid”. Gives a bit of toxic gamer vibes. But very good info in that vid.
I get him. Players always give great advice to balance weapons but the devs never listen or wait a whole year just to do what we recommend. They keep saying there is no meta but you can't deny the fact. Other guns are far more viable than their counterparts.
Yeah that dude needs some more experience with more of the weapons. Many of them might be harder to use but are not as bad as he claims. Jar + guard dog on bug missions is an absolute beast, the drone kills the smaller bugs and the jar takes on anything larger than that. You can 1v2 stalkers with that thing. It's sluggish to aim and has a slow reload, sure, but once you learn it, it's a very good weapon. Vs. Bots you don't even need the guard dog, it just one taps the small bots and headshots devesators (sometimes even 1hkos them)
@@knight_lautrec_of_carimalso his take on the breaker is kinda stupid. With the nerf it's still top 5 primaries atleast but now the spray and pray has an actual purpose because it clears trash better than breaker. I prefer nerfs in this game because the game is meant to be difficult, having broken weapons ruins that. If you really want to feel stronger just play on a lower difficulty and you'll get the same result imo.
I can't disagree more with your rating on the breaker I think it's still one of the best after the nerfs. In your video you can be seen shooting soldier bugs 5-6 times when it only takes 2-3 (depending on range) to kill. If you fire a bit slower and count your shots it still has great damage output and you're not constantly running out of ammo
@@luvvstheworld3059 I mean when you are surrounded by a lot of enemies. Besides the NERF of the gun, they also changed the spawn of the enemies. On higher levels there are way more small enemies, than you need ammo to kill them, and Breaker has no ammo for that. The gun is useless on higher difficults now because there are better options. Medium and lowers levels it’s ok, but anything actually works there.
@@gustavofoltzlacchini1796 I got 71 hours in the game and I've been using pretty much only the breaker on lvl 7 8 and even 9 for both bots (only reason being I don't have the scorcher yet) and bugs it is still effective and works well for me but yes whenever I'm getting gangbanged by hunters the 3 round nerf really shows. But honestly when paired with the redeemer it ain't that bad it might not be THE best now but it ain't useless
@@adamnabeeh3902 yeah, for sure I was a little “over” when said “useless”, of course it’s pretty good. I just think people are sleeping about the other options. But the fun fact about the game is that you can actually use a lot of different guns and stratagems and still be effective.
breaker ranked that low is crazy, it's easily still one of the best guns in the game, seems like you're just satly about the nerf from your justification of the placement. the breaker kept all it's damage per shot and only got nerfs to it's overall DPS and handling. If you used to just spray and pray with the gun, then the nerf is big, but if you take time to aim and place your shots, you don't even feel the recoil nerf. The magazine size nerf can be felt, but it was honestly needed as the breaker outclassed all guns in the game. Now the breaker is more in line with the rest of the viable weapons in the game. You were right to point out that weapons like the scorcher, slugger and defender are some of the best in the game; and all the breaker nerf did was bring it down to that viable level. The only people who are saying "buff not nerf" are the ones who have not played the game long enough to unlock the other viable primaries.
The problem is that in higher levels, now, there are more small enemies, and you just can’t handle them with the Breaker. You die because you need to constantly reload. It shines on lower difficult levels, but that’s it. Incendiary shotgun, for instance, is way better from 7+ difficult.
@@luvvstheworld3059 ok, if you want to play with a worse option it’s up to you. I also play o. 9-Helldiver difficult. That’s the good thing about the game, you can play as you want, there’s no “super meta” thing (now, because Railgun was that before the nerf).
I love how underrated the Jar-5 is, I have been rolling with that Chadcannon since the start. the handling balances it otherwise there would be no reason to use any other gun. It's a sluggish precision weapon, that can drop anything apart from the heavily armored enemies. It's an easy S-tier. After a few rounds, you'll get used to handling and dragging the weapon over fast-moving targets. (Hunters)
I pretty much main the Jar-5 on bugs and bots and it's just gotten more strong and satisfying to use with practice. I can oneshot pretty much any light enemy and deal with medium armored ones quickly with just 3-5 shots. Even out to long range once you get used to the projectile velocity. At this point I can even deal with shriekers well enough to not be helpless when I'm holding it. The only real caveat is that the reload takes just a tad too long for my taste but that's easy to deal with for how much work the weapon does. For anybody who hasn't been enlightened yet, using the first-person mode is a must for this weapon. The weapon's whole gimmick is being able to hit enemy weakpoints, whether those are heads or fleshy bits, penetrate whatever armor is there, and kill in the fewest number of shots possible. You have to get used to aiming for the vital organs so you can do maximum damage.
Correct take. I got tired of the breaker incendiary because it lacks range. I've seen people say the battlepass weapons are trash, and I genuinely don't get it.
The Counter Sniper is actually really good against bots, I always use it before an engagement, and always from a distance. Two taps most rank and file enemies. Anything with medium armor requires more precision. I have next to no complaints, other than making the turn speed a little faster. Much easier to use on the bots than the bugs, obviously. That's why I bring something else for the bugs. ... Maybe Helldivers 2 should have loadouts? Like, create a loadout, and you can save it, then use it to speed up your stratagem selection right before a drop?
One of the best things about the Punisher is no wasted shots on reload. If you’re a habitual R-key addict like me it’s great for keeping the issue to a minimum. I’ve also found it has surprising range; the spread isn’t significant, and you can pop legs and heads from a good distance if you aim for centre mass and let recoil do its thing.
the scythe is underrated imo. Its alot more useful against bots because its more of a sniping weapon than a close range brawling one. You find a rock for cover and sit back as you melt the heads off of the smaller bots insanely fast with no recoil and you never need to worry about ammo. The thing would be almost broken if it had higher magnification options on its scope.
melt of their heads while aiming or 1-2shot with any other weapon in any hit location for the same effect. NGL i still vastly prefer every other option available, possibly excepting the terrible handling of the diligence marksman rifle or the bad cone of fire on most of the not standard breaker pellet shotguns.
i do feel that laser weapons is prob ganna be more used against illuminate since im seing Helldiver 1 players saying that laser weapons were really good against them
Fun fact, if you have an empty Punisher magazine, reload and then dive and stand up, you will infinitely reload and shoot when needed. Very fucking op, and you can snipe with it given you have the fortified perk it saves my teammates and me from all bots except hulks/tanks. For the rocket devastator i think its called, i can snipe it from a stupid range if im crouching, i play heavy armour (fs 38 eradicator?) With support loadout, Stalwart(lowest rpm), punisher, mac 10 gun, and b-1 supply pack. Does very well in extreme and suicide is a different jungle
Personally love the defender, especially on higher difficulty. The ability to run and gun at the same time is invaluable because you will likely be running a lot while calling in stratagems
was surprised it wasn't mentioned. In the era of the hunter the ability to sprint away and still shoot at those little monsters is criminally underrated.
I was using the DMR's but the slugger just replaces both of them once you get it. I love DMR's but they are the worst in the game. You won't get a good shot with everything going on. Slugger can one tap anything almost anywhere that the DMR's need a clean head shot to kill. Also the slugger has 16 in the tube and you can't waste ammo by reloading. Sad that my favorite weapon type is almost useless.
Slugger is worse vs bots than the Diligence. Very low recoil 15 round mag reloaded, faster ROF and can be used to kill even hulks in two taps once the face plates off. Try anti materiel + Diligence in stealth armor vs bots even helldives are cake walks. You usually drop bot patrols before the first flare is off.
@GhostlyGhille while it shoots faster, shooting fast is not good for it. The recoil will make it hard to get clean shots back to back. Then the enemy will be moving. You got terrain that will block your shots so far engagement is a risk. For hulks I use the autocannon or recoilless rifle since I do not want those things near me or my teammates. Also the slugger penetrates more then the DMR's so you shoot through targets. You can crouch or go prone for superior accuracy but then you are exposed to getting flanked or return fire. I do find more success with bots but its current state need more to it to take it with me.
@hirooftedahl2202 slugger has a much shorter damage falloff. And it's recoil is minimal I can just about run it full RPM while selecting a new target. It one shot headshots everything smaller than devistators two for them. And the slugger doesn't have a magnifying scope scope.
worst thing other than their sub-par damage is their atrocius handling stat, the recoil is irrelevant but heir time to zero/aim is worse than many of the heaviest and most bulky support weapons (recoilless rifle and the machinegun). the diligence is likely the worst handling weapon in the entire game and that's not an exaggeration.
Problem with snipers as main weapon is that you can't get anything better or similar than the stratagem support weapon, like the antimatter rifle. So you are stuck in this weird place between two chairs. If they were as good as the stratagem then why take it and vice versa. I do hope we'll have better long range weapons with future updates. They hinted at stealth guns and upgrade for main guns so there's that.
I really like the liberator penetrator, switching it from burst to semi auto makes the ammo feel a lot better, and it feels more consistent against most targets than any other other weapon because you lose less from missing weak points
I've been running the plasma shot gun recently, most reviews say throw it in the bin. However its really good at crowd control. It knocks back everything in 360 of the explosion, really good to keep swarms from running you down, aoe dmg, can ignore brood guards hunker down it isnt the fastest kill speed but what it lacks in speed the cc makes up for it in spades. Its great if you you died and ran back to your samples and theres a pile of bugs sitting on it, lob a couple shots and you now have room to grab them.
The scythe is often overlooked because its overall damage output is pretty low but it's incredibly effective vs bots because of how accurately you can basically just draw a line across the screen and pop the heads off of multiple enemies. You can also do so pretty comfortably from medium-long range because the weapon has no recoil.
Punisher shotgun is by far my favorite weapon rn for bugs. The pushback and damage is excellent, and it feels great to use. I also love that you can continually reload single shells and keep its ammo topped-off without wasting partially-empty magazines.
I find it difficult to not take the punisher on anything other than low threat missions. The utility of the weapon is pretty crazy, with only a few weak or sub-optimal enemy types. Stopping an acid aphid from vomiting with a single blast (dodging is so questionable, no matter what my screen shows) and pushing most targets really increases survivability.
While it does not say it is a "shotgun" it actually is a shotgun. The damage drops insanely at a certain range. I wish it was more like a bolter but it is a non but yes shotgun more or less like the slugger
Some of these options I can understand but here somethings I will have to point out. 1. Jar-5 dominator is not a shotgun you can clearly see that in so many different ways so why are you calling it that. 2. The diligence counter-sniper allows you to get away with imperfect hits on bots also plz learn to use it while crouching or proned and you find that it is dramatically more accurate. 3. Las-scythe has the advantage doing damage quickly making it amazing against bots on cold planets due to their low limb health. 4. Liberator concussive is leagues more useful against bugs than bots because rapid stunning kind of doesn't matter as much against bots but vs bugs you will find it much more useful. 5. Btw I feel the comment about the defender not having the highest damage was definitely a screw up and you probably meant dps.
Although the liberator concussive, and the other weapons that stun, can be invaluable for the bots with rockets, especially the rocket devastators and the hulks with rockets (bruisers, I think?) I mostly prefer the sickle though
The counter in crouch and prone is good but hard to keep doing with enemy spawns. Also the slugger doesn't need such precision and in a chaotic situation , the DMR's suffer so much. It's need more damage so it makes it great in medium to long range like how I use it. Also make it have medium armor penetration because the slugger penetrates more then the counter.
@@SilentSnipes86The slugger and the diligence counter-sniper are both good but there are reasons to use either one. For the slugger it has great stagger, damage, and hipfire accuracy. For the diligence counter-sniper the zoom adds a lot to this weapon from allowing you to engage at safe distances, support allies from afar, and make weak spot shots much easier. There are reasons to use both but I do hold the belief that both the diligences needs more damage too and the regular diligence to compensate should have fewer mags in reserve.
@@cavemanbonk8320I was saying that the liberator concussive isn't as useful against bots because the slugger is a leagues better option for stagger against them. The slugger has high burst damage which allows it to actually kill the rocket guys you want dead. The liberator concussive on the other hand has a lot of shots to stun with and a small AoE which is useful due to how bugs group up in comparison to bots. I'm not say the liberator concussive is useless against bots just not as useful for dealing with them in comparison to using it against the bugs. The sickle is also pretty good against bots too considering it has good zoom and damage allowing it to get away with shots that the scythe wouldn't normally be able to.
I routinely use the liberator concussive on tier 8 or 9 missions. Sure it doesn't have the highest dps, but you can cover your teammates with it so well, push bugs back, keep them in an area where a stratagem is going to land, even stunlock stalkers after landing a couple hits. Pair it with literally any pistol and good use will keep you on top
The spray and pray is nutty good against bugs. Hunters and Stalkers are the two primary bug threats and the spray and pray wipes both of those out. It can also be decent against bots with the GL as your secondary.
The knight is not supposed to be used on full auto. It's a laser beam with the best handling in the game using burst fire. With great ammo economy and damage.
Yeah I thought the weapon was terrible when I used it at full-auto, just chewed through ammo with ridiculous recoil. After switching to burst fire, I thought "Ah, so this is the REAL version of the weapon". It's night and day difference, just a totally different beast and jumps up at least two ranks of a tier list just by switching to burst fire.
@@davidw2417 Exactly my thoughts too, I somehow switched it to burst fire really early, so I was really confused when it was at C tier only. IMO it outclasses the Defender SMG.
Finally a list that appreciates the defender, especially against bugs it’s so good. If hunters bother you, the defender solves that problem by being able to kill them as you run away
I’m surprised how much I agree with you. I understand the devs want us to play more tactical and use stratagems, but having the right gear is part of tactical play. The guns in this game make no sense, the balancing on the guns feel ridiculously “off” for some reason. There are so many guns but only 4-5 guns are really usable.
I personally enjoy using the Blitzer against bugs when combined with a guard dog rover. Rover handles the crowd control while the Blitzer can deal with the more powerful and tankier stuff.
Another thing about the Punisher is it actually fully stuns medium armor targets despite only penning light armor. You can see this with hive guards/supermajors and bile spewers. Even though they may play out some of their animations they’re actually fully stunned and don’t get to do anything as long as you fire at them. It’s my go to weapon for a lot of missions because of how many opportunities it actually creates for your team.
I’ve blown hives guards back like thirty paces with a few centre-mass punisher shots, it’s one of the weapon’s best features. Getting distance from the bugs is key and it can shove them off you.
@@austinfrancis1759 in the ant world, supermajors are the really large ants that are like 4 times the size of a normal worker. Their Helldivers equivalent is the one that summons the hive warriors when it roars. A supermajor’s job in a colony is to be the main defense force of the hive and assist in breaking down larger pieces of food that the scouts find.
I've been using the Punisher ever since the Breaker nerf. Even though it's pretty short ranged and does nothing to Bile Spewers (the armored Mortar bugs, not the unarmored ones), but it feels and sounds great against all but the strongest, most distant targets. This is my go-to primary and I'll only use the Slugger or Scythe if I'm up against specific enemies.
for anyone wondering about the breaker nerf and how its not that bad or that its the worst thing to have ever happened. You lose about 21 shots and if you calc the highest base damage possible(not including any sort of headshot multiplier cause i dunno the specific numbers), you lose about 7000 damage and more than an entire mag
Ok so the entire game turns into a breaker fest... I'm telling you, after several days of using the breaker, I had to switch to other weapons just for the hell of it because it was turning incredibly monotonous... This is not a game to get crazy about with a "meta". Giving players a wider range of options by not making anything the absolute best weapon is the best decision.
As a JAR main I give it an A because it takes out the big bugs and the glock pistol I'd for the small mobs. Plus it has Hella good stun. No stun= dead to me
The sickle is one of the best weapons in the game. I use it reliably and run nothing but tier 9 (helldive missions) it's excellent at clearing hunters, trash, and the new flying enemies. The ammo management is borderline unfair good. Run it with some anti tank, like the EAT and you'll never have problems.
You are outright wrong on the Dominator, its not a short range weapon at all, you can fire at EXTREMELY long ranges and hit targets. You can kill a Spore Tower with about half a magazine from across the map. If you can see it, you can hit it since this thing fire micro-rockets (gyrojets). Also, dont fire with the flashlight on, the flashlight is worthless 99% of the time and just gives your location away to the enemies, especially when you ADS, always turn the flashlight off. The dominator Kills brook commanders, hive guard, spewers in just 4-6 shots, kills bile spewers in about half a magazine or so, it will kill berzerkers, devastators. rockets devastators in 1 shot if you hit them in the head, and about half a magazine (give or take) if you are bad at accuracy and trigger control. And you can 1 or two shot heavy devastators if you hit them in the head or backpacks. You can drop the striders in 2-4 shots if you shoot them in the middle of their pelvis under the front shield. and will kill hunters and warriors in 1 shot in the head, or two shots anywhere else. The Dominator dominates anything thats not heavy armor(elite units like tanks/hulks/turrets/bile titans/chargers) though you can shoot out the bile titan's belly with the dominator to stop it from spitting. I use the Dominator almost exclusively as my primary, and pair it with the rover against terminids to clear warriors, scavengers and scavengers so you can save the dominators ammo more for the guards and commanders (and hunters that your rover doesnt kill). Treat this weapon as a mobile heavy weapon and not a fast action primary and you will better understand it. Trigger control and target priority are the most important factors with this gyrojet bolter. I can understand the weapon not matching with a lot of player's playstyle, but that doesnt mean its a bad weapon. If you like being a heavy weapons/demolitionist/combat engineer kind of player, you will absolutely fucking love the dominator even if its got only 15 rounds per mag and 6 mags. but if you do not like a slower/explosive loadout kind of play then the dominator is going to feel like the worst gun in the game. You wont be ducking and weaving through hordes dumping hundreds of rounds on crowds like speedy gonzales with the CIA hands you full auto weapons.
For bugs its only really good for the 4 things you mentioned (med units), problem is those are not a real issue most of the time its the heavies or lights that kill you in the end. Bots are a different story ofc. I like the Jar but for its limited magazine and recoil its very niche compared tot a general use primary.
@@NstHarlequinnot since the patch to reduce the amount of heavy units and increase the amount of medium units. the average engagement in T7 to T9 on terminids alone often has 4+ guard, 2+ commanders, 4+ bile/spewers and 2+ chargers and 1-2 bile titans. if you can drop 2-3 medium units per magazine, that allows your team to work on the chaff or elites, or buy you breathing room to use your own elite killing stratagems and support weapons. You dont know how much of a difference just 1 person clearing out medium armor units does to an engagement when everyone else only has light piercing weapons. You have to learn trigger discipline (so taking slightly longer to pull the trigger between shots) if you want to use this weapon properly, you cant just spray and pray like the breakers or other machineguns currently available. Its a mobile heavy weapon, not a glock, you are going to have some tradeoffs with recoil and mag capacity in order to kill most enemies in the game in just a couple shots. I prefer using the Dominator over the Scorcher in most situations due to better damage and accuracy at longer ranges. Though the one thing the scorcher does have is that it can blow up weakspots on tanks and deal damage past the strider shields. but 8 times out of 10, the Dominator is better for both factions and wont kill you if you clip terrain or shoot an enemy in melee range.
It’s ok but the scorcher out classes it in everything but headshots. But then again the scorcher takes out tanks and turrets so give and take. Both have 15 rounds in the mag. They should up the mag count to 25 to give a reason to take it over the scorcher
@@Mr_Big_HeadThe scorcher only does 100 damage a shot, the dominator does 200 per shot and punches through the medium armor which the scorcher doesnt do, its still light armor pen. So it actually takes double the shots for the scorcher to kill something like a Devastator or Brood Commander compared to the Dominator. I can pop a brood commanders head in 2 or 3 shots, it takes 5 to 6 shots of shooting a brood commanders head with a scorcher to pop its head. The scorcher cannot 1shot any of the devastators, it usually takes 5-8 shots on a devastator to kill it even hitting it in the head, meanwhile the Devastator can 1shot a devastators head. You can also 1shot berzerkers, rocket devastators and heavy devastators, but the latter will probably need 2-3 shots to the head or backpack to kill due to how hard it can be to land a headshot with the shield blocking. Remember when a light armor pen weapon hits medium armor, its only doing 50% of its damage, even explosive damage gets resisted (though the explosion can pass through multiple body parts). meanwhile the dominator's full damage 200 damage is going through. and even on the heavier armor parts, the dominator's resisted damage is still doing 100 damage, which is still significantly better than the scorcher. which is why it takes a full magazine to take down things like devastator and berzerkers with the scorcher, but only half a mag with the dominator.
@@drag0nmancer all you did was restate what I said. The only thing the dominator does better is headshots. The scorcher explosion damage kills hive guards in 3 shots, striders in 2. Even brood commanders only take 5-6 headshots. The advantage on headshots does not exceed the accuracy, zero recoil, quick reload, snappy aiming and the ability to take out tanks and turrets that the scorcher offers. If it had 20-25 rounds per mag, I would definitely take it over the scorcher time to time. Right now the scorcher just outperforms it overall by a large margin
Bro you're way our of pocket on some of these, the spray and pray is great for bugs the concussion liberator is a CC weapon with the ability to push back brood comanders our of sight and covers your team amazingly well and the didn't ruin the breaker it lost 3 rounds in the magazine ad has more recoil.. people are out here acting like it's the end of days. Tough shit the gun was overperforming and got a slight nerf which encourages people to try other guns which was a great decision by the devs. Your primary isn't supposed to do everything for you its got a strength and weakness which you adjust your load out and playstyle to. The scorcher was always the best gun in the game people just didn't have it unlocked for a long time. There are plenty of good options to choose but there's definitely room for improvement, I think the dev team lacks imagination a bit when it comes to the kit in game but hopefully they'll get there
While I agree that your primary shouldn't be too powerful I do still believe that the breaker was nerfed in the most annoying way possible. Not saying it's not still good but it just doesn't feel as good to use which should not be a thing in this type of game.
The real answer is use whatever gun you like most, if you play enough of a weapon you can get use out of it, sure there may be better options. But I think everything is viable
@@death-thresh9548"the most annoying way possible" would have been for the fellow who made this video to get his way and to have turned the pinpoint accurate 1-2 shot kill breaker with MASSIVE damage and full-auto available into a wide-assed cone of fire, big mag, spread-damage/low-accuracy thing like the breaker-incendiary adding even more victims to the "modern videogame shotgun" tier of "would be more useful but can only land 1/4 of the pellets beyond melee range".
he has no clue what he is saying. its a video for revenue. he probs used each weapon for one match, shot enemy few times in body, checked how much damage it does and called it quits
Personal Openion, Breaker should've been S sins we all have OP Stratagem weapons like arc thrower and also they all have decent - Really good range, it all comes down when it's time to take out enemies on your blind spot (Aka those sneaky bois that get too close to you) especially in harder difficulty and Breaker solves the issue, low reload time, and that high auto/ burst shotgun, it maybe a little weak compared to pump and the mag as well, but it does shine in both Bots and Termids. I'm not a pro, nor have spent thag long in this game but when I go into difficulty (Hell Dive) the Breaker has saved me way more than most weapons. ARs dosent do as much close rage sins enemies with armour will kill you easily. That's why I Stick with Close to Midrange weapons sins those small bugs will kill you way faster than the big ones (Especially hunters) So I rather Spam my shotgun and spazz my mouse to clear out those Hunters and other small ones, while I use my Stratarem weapon to take care of the big bois. I know this list is Just about Primary, but the Breaker just goes with most builds and just does better. I rater use my primary to kill the small enemies then waste it on something that's heavily armoured or Just Tankey.
Even at very long ranges you can use the punisher to stun lock devastators, completely preventing rocket devs and heavy devs from cutting down your teammates while another team mate takes them out. Very useful especially when you've just started out.
No stagger like other shotguns or medium pen, you land on a Bile spewer planet and your primary is now useless against them making you completely reliant on grenades or your support weapon, and if you dont have one to deal with those prepare to ALT F4 in a fit of rage.
@@MeowLesty I could agree with bile spewers, but it’s so amazing against everything lower than a brood commander, just bring the autocannon, anti-material rifle, or grenade launcher. One pellet can kill anything small and hunters die in 1-3 shots depending on range. The most important thing is to just lead your shots and get the center of the blast on target, majority of the pellets are very centralized while the others are wild, the center cone can easily two shot hunters from decent range and burn them to death if they survive. It’s not a shoot everything kinda gun, it has weaknesses but it’s strength is better than every other weapon for bugs imo (for Scav, hunter, and warrior sized enemies)
@@ghostlyblue5735 Oh yeah its definitely not as weak as pre buff and definitely not deserving of such a low spot but i feel like the fire version does what it does + the burn damage and tbh it looks way cooler on night maps. Good for baby bugs but i dont like to feel powerless unless i have my Support Weapon. And for that the Punisher and Breaker are usually pretty good
I'm blown away by your listing of the knight as it's genuinely a slept on primary that should be way higher on the list due to dps alone. A lot of the issues people have with it, including yourself all come down to trigger discipline and a lack of experience with the gun. Using it in burst and crouching basically solve every issue with the gun, and understanding how long it takes to down an enemies solves running out of ammo too quickly. It's actually surprisingly more efficient than people realize, and also has the added bonus of ripping through tanky targets like the berserkers. Honestly amazing gun and I recommend more people use it
Because the Primary weapons are meant to primarily suck. It's intentional. The support weapons are meant to make a difference, Primary Weapons are meant to be second to them in power, but more versatile. Primaries and Secondaries are actually Secondaries and Tertiaries.
> clicks on tier list video > sees 50% down votes > posted 56 minutes ago oh boy I do disagree with the breaker being bad. I like pairing it with the Arc Thrower to panic kill hunters that get too close. Good list and points though.
@@johnmcclane3747Homie was just using the breaker for clearing off hunters if they got close to him while using the Arc Thrower. The spray and pray is better at doing specifically that. Hence why I suggested it for that specific loadout.
Good list. Don't agree that the breaker was nerfed too hard, but its personal opinion. I'd move the lib pen and breaker up to B and then it'd probably be the same tier for every other weapon. Still need to get that scorcher unlocked.
I agree with you about the breaker nerf. by no means is the breaker bad now, still a really good option. Now it just doesnt do everything for you with little downside
@@Rapatto The biggest tip i can give is bring a backpack guard dog, (i like the rover variant), and the SMG secondary set to semi-auto. it's great for anything warrior sized upto Bile Spewer Sized, but it doesn't have the handling or ammo economy to be mass killing anything hunter sized or smaller, (you can pick off the odd one, but you really need somthing else to handle masses).
I’ve been playing with the punisher since I unlocked it and haven’t really played with much else. The knock back on enemies, the ammo count, the deals with small/medium enemies with ease… love it
Personally, the Liberator Concussive is like a high B low A tier. It pushes enemies farther away than the punisher most times. I love using it with the recoiless, while a buddy uses the flamethrower so i can keep enemies from running him over while he torches
A missed note on the slugger is that it has no spread since it fires slugs. This means you need pinpoint accuracy. The punisher is a lot more forgiving and will do more damage the closer an enemy is.
Also through my own testing I find shooting the hive guard bellies from the reel back of the slugger kills them in a shot or two less. The brood commanders however is best to pop head with 2 shots and walk away. Happy Liberating!
it's a fine video for opinions and i agree with some but don't criticize the dev; theyre the first AAA devs we've had in a while that really care about us, rhe playerbase
ye i take these tier list with a grain of salt mostly for fun to see what other's think cuz to me it's weapons in this game is always depends on faction and what mission and planet and what i feel like using ofc against bugs like using shotguns like spray and pray because they get up close and horde against bots either shotguns incase those bots that gets close or just my support weapon just liberator penatrator against bots
I pretty much haven’t taken off the penetrator since like a few weeks before the breaker nerf. I love the damn thing. I usually pair it with the laser guard dog to kill the smaller enemies while I focus on beefier enemies, or my arc thrower and flame thrower when I wanna do a lot of ad clear.
I am using the spray and pray breaker against the bugs very offen. Dif 5-9. Its pretty good in my opinion. Pretty good against spore spewer aswell. Solid Option Guys:D cant agree with D-Tier:D
I started playing last week. Level 16 with 33 hours. I was curious why I was settled pretty well on the punisher compared to these new guns I kept getting. Seeing your video, it makes plenty more sense. I appreciate that it's one of the only weapons you can fire while still reloading in those frantic moments. When I'm with buddies, they go the machine gun route while I keep the punisher on me for when stuff surprises us or gets in close
I like the Jar-5 Dominator, and my only real issue is that it takes three and a half eons for it to swing from one target to another. It's as if the gun weighs 75lbs and my character is built like a calcium-deficent third grader.
I feel like its terrible handling hurts its performance against automatons way more than against bugs. That's because bugs are wide and short, while automatons are tall and slim, and the handling mostly affects horizontal sway. While it is absolutely possible to quckscope bugs, it takes time to land accurate shots to bots.
About the slugger: When hitting small bugs that are crumped together, it can penetrate the first and hit the one behind it as well. It also offers the best stagger in the game, saving you against spewers that have come close range, since shooting them at the head stops them from spewing bile on you. Also has amazing stagger effect against brood commanders and stalkers. Finally, it only needs 2-3 headshots to kill a stalker, which is easy to do since the stalker cannot hit you or move much, thanks to the stagger effect. For me it is the best gun in the game hands down and i'm kinda disappointed that I don't see more people use it.
I know right, I'm just scrolling through the comments to see who says what. As much as I think the nerfs they made were unnecessary, I still think every gun in the game has their own pros that players need to experiment with more.
I agree with everything except the plasma shotgun swap that with the punisher shotgun it literally does everything the scorcher does but shoot straight lol & it has better ammo economy. Definitely will test a players accuracy since you abuse its aoe versus shooting directly at your enemy. I would personally put it in S or A only downside is its close range as its nonexistent lol with Hunters like you have stated…you go boom with them. Definitely would check it out again also can stun Chargers running at you if you abuse aoe by shooting under charger hitting it (3-5 shots it go bye bye)!✌🏾
Am I the only person who doesn't think the JAR-5 is as bad as people make it out to be? It shreds medium bugs, and the recoil isn't all that bad at close to mid ranges. Just pair with a stalwart and it can do a lot of work *shrug*
It became my main weapon running 7 and 8 I managed to kill everything in front of me bugs or Bots just take some practice to learn how to use it I would say the only thing in the jar needs five more shots per mag
I rushed the Jar-5 because I used to main the SR-2 Suppressor in the first game and absolutely fell in love with it. The Jar is incredible in my opinion. Shreds Devastators, Striders, Spitters, and Brood Commanders. I feel absolutely confident with the Jar in my hands whereas with other weapons there might be some hesitation in whether or not I can take a certain enemy. I run it on basically every mission, its just too reliable to pass up for dealing with mediums.
I really respect the experience, since I'm a fairly new player still and maybe I am too used to it, but I also think the Breaker is really good. I tried the Defender for a bit and actually found it to chew through its ammo just the same as the breaker, but maybe that's me just being really unefficient when playing. I never had much trouble resupplying whenever needed, so I'm pretty liberal with bullets. But I'll give the Defender some more time to grow on me. I was able to pick the Sickle up from dead teammates once in a while, it definitively is awesome and a weapon to aim for. I've never seen the Scorcher, but it is basically the last weapon you unlock normally, nice to know it's something worth working towards to.
I think you are being overly critical of the JAR. It's served me pretty well on 7+ difficulty against Terminids, being a very good head popper against Brood Commanders and below. Crouching or going prone will solve the recoil downsides, and you shouldn't need to spam fire it like crazy either. Pace shots at least half a second in between. You'll find it pretty great with those practices in mind.
Been recently consuming your content and was shocked there wasn't a primary tier list. And honestly there isn't a decent one out there at all. Thanks for providing great content.
I've been very happy with the Punisher Plasma for both Terminids and Automatons. I consider it to be the most abundantly supplied in terms of ammo, and I don't mind that you don't full fill it with one resupply. It is very rare that I actually run out of ammo for it while I run dry of ammo routinely using most other primaries. I haven't used Scorcher yet, but being able to take out every Automaton unit safely (using environmental cover) including the Strikers and Shielded Devastators without having to flank them is a great advantage. I used to favor armor that would give 2 extra grenades, but now I favor armor that gives me +50% explosive damage resistance, so I am able to reduce some of the risk of potentially exploding myself, plus take reduced damage from other sources of explosive damage.
People are so harsh on the breaker these days. Lost three bullets and now everyone thinks it is garbage. It is basically the same as before but you need to be slightly more careful about aiming so you don't waste shots.
still pinpoint, still HUGE applied damage, still has full-auto for "close encounters". 3 ammo was barely a dent in it's effectiveness given all the other pellet guns have "videogame shotgun syndrome" and have a cone of fire measured in hours-of angle rather minutes. not as bad as some but way worse than they need to be.
Breaker still feels good to shoot and still has the same damage output per sec. I do miss those 3 rounds though. I’d put it in A tier right now. I do agree that it should have never been nerfed in the first place. The other guns need buffed badly.
You miss the point. The primary weapons are actually secondary weapons, and the secondary ones are tertiary. The Support Weapons are the actual primary weapons that are meant to kick bubblegum and chew a**.
Only guns worth using are the starting rifle, the scorcher, the sickle and both punishers. Maybe the breaker spray and pray. Everything else feels like firing hot farts at the enemy.
For me, the breaker is still extremely effective. I've never had the ammo give me problems, and if you go in first person, I've found that it practically nullifies the recoil. It's absolutely diabolical that you put it that low
With the ridiculous number of hunters that the game spawns now I spend about 50% of my time running away. So being able to fire behind me with the defender definitely makes it S tier.
damn those Shreikers. they can still kill you even if it's just their dead body landing on top of you. they can even kill you instantly if you got hit by their wing, as if they're razor sharp or something.
Great timing, the game was unplayable yesterday and today it does not even boot. 'Failed to establish network connection' it says. I noticed that I am still watching a tierlist instead of requesting a refund so... is there hope?
This time it's PSN servers that are down, and Sony has already issued a statement about it. Helldivers 2 crashes enough with the lightning based weapons and didn't need such a sucker punch from Sony.
The Slugger can also destroy loot doors for some reason. Dunno why or how it can break down something that usually takes a grenade or rocket but that’s one of its quirks.
@@lag00n54 It can't be emphasized enough: There are tons of properties that are not visible in the locker, but the weapons are highly simulated and have detailed statistics and very individual properties.
"one of the worst nerfs in games I've played" like has he played any other games? Lol it was three less shots. And watching his video he just holds down full auto on already dead bugs
I like how this video is 3 weeks old and already out of date lol. I agree with the part when you said “buff first then nerf afterwards” if the gun is still over performing because as we can all see they have been nerfing random guns into the ground for literally no reason whatsoever and keeping the weaker guns the same. They have effectively pushed everyone into using the same weapons yet again because they are simply nerfing random guns instead of buffing the ones that neeeeeeed buffs. The fire shotgun got a buff but as we already know the host is the only one who has tic dmg so that is the reason some games you feel like you can solo the entire bug empire and then another game you feel like you’re not shooting fire but water at the enemies. They need to stop adding content and nerfing weapons into the ground and instead fix bugs and issues and buff weapons that fucking need them because the game is getting repetitive simply due to a select few weapons being viable for each faction along with certain stratagems. Oh also the new warbond is utter trash except for the pistol grenade and the freaking bolt action bolter from warhammer. I love the devs for making this game and not being greedy scum bags but they are actively halting their progress by not fixing bugs and issues and adding more issues with every content drop and hard focused on nerfing weapons rather than buffing. Each gun should have its own strengths, weaknesses, play styles, etc that makes each weapon unique and feel good to use for its intended purpose, will we still have guns that outperform others? Of course but balancing and buffing out all the weapons will make people at least try other weapons if they are viable and usable and maybe even like them better than the meta guns. Tbh snipers just need to do the same amount of dmg as the anti material rifle and you wanna know why that’s fair? The anti material rifle will still be viable because of one thing, IT IS WAY MORE POWERFUL WITH ITS ARMOR PIERCING! Just keep the armor pen medium and it will be balanced because it won’t smack as hard against armored enemies as the anti rifle does but still one shot the smaller enemies and non armored spots just the same. Idk there’s a lot they need to do but I feel like they are too focused on adding and not focused enough on fixing and buffing.
No ideally every weapon should be viable in all difficulties, but not overpowered, as well as as fun to use. Weak weapons are not fun. Meta weapons are also not fun because you’re pretty much forced to use them if you want to increase your chances of success on higher difficulties. If everything is viable then there is no meta and everyone can use whatever they want.
I really love the slugger for bugs more than anything else. The fact that it kills literraly everything up to chargers in 2 direct headshots is insane. For bots i prefer the sickle to the scorcher now, since ammo isn't a problem with that and it absolutely devastates devastators (pun intended)
it's a good thing the sickle has the best scope because its hipfire crosshair is atrocious getting the bug that gives you the arcthrower crosshair on your primary is a breath of fresh air when I'm using the sickle
My issue with the breaker nerf was the 50% recoil increase. Such an insane increase to the point the gun almost feels sickening to use, it's better when you crouch or dive, but it went from always being used for me, to never. I still think its a solid choice, but it FEELS bad to use
The blitzer is great for a run and gun play style, no hunter can touch you with it. Pairing it with the arc thrower helps since it can’t hit close targets like the blitzer can. It’s also nice to have infinite ammo no matter what. It’s more of a personal protection gun than hoard clear which is what primaries are SUPPOSED TO BE.
I agree on the Breaker Incendiary, it is my go to weapon for bugs. Its gr8 when I'm being swarmed by hunters, which is the only situation I use my primary for bugs tbh.
I've been using the Punisher shotgun since the beginning cause I liked how it felt. Always thought I was completely insane using it since everyone else used other stuff. Glad to see its a viable choice.
The thing about the liberator and the defender is that they have swapped roles. They have very similar stats but the smg has high damage and low fire rate while the rifle has high fire rate and lower damage. So just treat the defender like your starting rifle, use it when you run anti horde support weapons, and treat the liberator like your backup smg, use it when youre running anti armor.
Only problem with the Sickle is that it can’t penetrate bushes. Idk if it’s a bug or a feature (I haven’t really used other energy weapons), but it’s still amazing.
Not only do I apprecite your input but i lile that you post the total list at the end and have the item and tier posted the whole time youre talking about it.
Looks like we agree outside of the blitzer, might be using it wrong but that gun really does well from my experience, not a C, probably only a B because it is only good against bugs.
Ya, i never complained about the starting loadout, you can hit the ground running
@@SolidNitroxFor real my fellow Helldiver it was disappointing to see it as a stratagem 😢

Except its complete trash outside of shotgun range so it might as well be a shotgun
@@sgt.zaitsev287 it thrashes bots at midrange for me. Are you shooting in 1st person or 3rd person with it?
It's got jet propelled rounds, so it's like the bolter from 40k, except for that it's bad lol
After a few uses with it, I hated it right away and never touched it again, Imma give it another shot on my next runs, would rover be good with it to help with close range encounters?
Rover or Shield backpack. The Jar is good for Squishy parts of Adds and penetrating armor
Won’t be surprised if slugger nerf comes soon though.
yeah 100% it's not horrible, just went from an S tier to A 😂
Watching him use it was a little frustrating. He wastes a lot more ammo than he needs to, going full auto and wasting an entire mag on two bugs that should only take one shell each.
Breaker is a pile of dog shite now, yes.
@@dsm9339 And the Railgun isn't a reload simulator?
the sickle is basically just the liberator but with infinite ammo and less recoil.

The nerf should have made the mag capacity 8 and give it as much recoil as the punisher
I also play on Helldiver, if you’re thinking that “oh i PlAy BeTeR tHaN hIm” thing.
yeah I hate what they did to the Breaker as well, but I feel like it's a bit lower than expected on the list.
Breaker in C is absolutely wild. The damage is so high that enemies get shredded. I often fire too many shots, and I use the gun in semi auto. The Breaker is still S tier.
IMO breaker is probably is only S tier when running the arc thrower, probably around A-A+ for the high dps, cause they broke the arc thrower rn
Putting the plasma punisher above the stock breaker is fucking crazy imo
@laynechristiansen8126 I was thinking the same thing lmao
Had a match which it where if I payed down and aimed down sights, moving my aim to the left made it go up and right made it go down.
i don't understand why even put it in the game. it's just a worse version of the other marksman rifle

He plays destiny.
He just wants he no brain pick weapon, the overall opinion on the nerfs are that they were needed. Its nice to see people run different weapons.
That explains a lot@@BoblbzmwVomca
Yeah he sounded real toxic with a lot of this vid...
I get him. Players always give great advice to balance weapons but the devs never listen or wait a whole year just to do what we recommend. They keep saying there is no meta but you can't deny the fact. Other guns are far more viable than their counterparts.
The Jar 5 isn't a shotgun. It can 2 tap brood commanders in the head. Some of these seem to bit off. But its your list
Useless against a lot of enemies.
@@gustavofoltzlacchini1796not true
The only people who are saying "buff not nerf" are the ones who have not played the game long enough to unlock the other viable primaries.
not to mention that crouching while shooting will eliminate even spray and pray recoil.
I've gotten used to the recoil of it, it's still a top 3 gun if not the best.
The problem is that in higher levels, now, there are more small enemies, and you just can’t handle them with the Breaker. You die because you need to constantly reload. It shines on lower difficult levels, but that’s it. Incendiary shotgun, for instance, is way better from 7+ difficult.
@@gustavofoltzlacchini1796i do helldive with the breaker all the time and it’s amazing. It jus requires skill now
@@luvvstheworld3059 ok, if you want to play with a worse option it’s up to you.
I’ve also found it has surprising range; the spread isn’t significant, and you can pop legs and heads from a good distance if you aim for centre mass and let recoil do its thing.
same with slugger
and the revolver
slugger can also break those loot doors
so instead of throwing a nade you can just shoot it saving a nade
the scythe is underrated imo.
Thank you! I’m so surprised by the hate it gets. I freakin love that thing
i do feel that laser weapons is prob ganna be more used against illuminate
since im seing Helldiver 1 players saying that laser weapons were really good against them
Fun fact, if you have an empty
Punisher magazine, reload and then dive and stand up, you will infinitely reload and shoot when needed.
And the slugger doesn't have a magnifying scope
scope.
worst thing other than their sub-par damage is their atrocius handling stat, the recoil is irrelevant but heir time to zero/aim is worse than many of the heaviest and most bulky support weapons (recoilless rifle and the machinegun).
the diligence is likely the worst handling weapon in the entire game and that's not an exaggeration.
It’s also relatively quiet which lends credence to stealthy or solo builds.
Thank you the information really helped me decide what gun I should use
The Jar is a DMR, it's main counterpart is the Scorcher.
yup, and the Scorcher and Punisher Plasma are not interchangeable weapons just because "plasma"
Jar isn't a shotgun
Agree, it's a trash.
While it does not say it is a "shotgun" it actually is a shotgun. The damage drops insanely at a certain range. I wish it was more like a bolter but it is a non but yes shotgun more or less like the slugger
Pretty sure it’s a shotgun lol
It literally says it shoots “jet propelled rounds” not a shotgun. And if your accurate from medium distance it destroys everything
Ye it’s like a slug cannon type thing
Although the liberator concussive, and the other weapons that stun, can be invaluable for the bots with rockets, especially the rocket devastators and the hulks with rockets (bruisers, I think?)
I mostly prefer the sickle though
Instructions unclear, dakka dakka dakka
Yeah I thought the weapon was terrible when I used it at full-auto, just chewed through ammo with ridiculous recoil. After switching to burst fire, I thought "Ah, so this is the REAL version of the weapon". It's night and day difference, just a totally different beast and jumps up at least two ranks of a tier list just by switching to burst fire.
I went from full auto blows all the way to full auto or nothing.
@@davidw2417 Exactly my thoughts too, I somehow switched it to burst fire really early, so I was really confused when it was at C tier only. IMO it outclasses the Defender SMG.
Hummm…didn’t know this. Ty will try right away.
I'd like to know what a supermajor is sounds interesting
Note with the blitzer, if any shot lands on a spewer it will stop it from spewing.
for anyone wondering about the breaker nerf and how its not that bad or that its the worst thing to have ever happened.
@@3rdWorldGamer ye. im just sayin thats the numbers
Yeah, I think they got it right with the nerf. It's still incredibly strong, but it won't carry the game on its own.
Higher levels difficult and the breaker is useless.
That's why I Stick with Close to Midrange weapons sins those small bugs will kill you way faster than the big ones (Especially hunters)
So I rather Spam my shotgun and spazz my mouse to clear out those Hunters and other small ones, while I use my Stratarem weapon to take care of the big bois.
How does the breaker spray and pray end up in D tier? It excels in the range it is designed for.
And it has really insane ammo economy, one ammo supply gets you 4 mags and each mag has 26 shots! You just gotta spray and pray with this gun...
@@misspelled3677I feel like the Breaker Incendiary has better ammo economy
And for that the Punisher and Breaker are usually pretty good
I dont know if this was made before the dominator buff but the dominator absolutely crushes bots.
Honestly amazing gun and I recommend more people use it
Medium pen weapons can take out walkers by shooting the legs, not just explosive round weapons. If you hit a joint it does extra damage too.
The Blitzer needs a fire rate buff so damn badly. I don’t know why Arrowhead refuses to give players tools that feel effective and fun to use.
Because the Primary weapons are meant to primarily suck. It's intentional. The support weapons are meant to make a difference, Primary Weapons are meant to be second to them in power, but more versatile. Primaries and Secondaries are actually Secondaries and Tertiaries.

oh boy
I do disagree with the breaker being bad. I like pairing it with the Arc Thrower to panic kill hunters that get too close. Good list and points though.
Breaker is still a great option A tier imo
If you are using the breaker for that, you might as well just use the breaker spray and pray it's better for that purpose.
@@Piratederpwrong. Breaker still shreds warrirors/brood mothers AND has 8/10 hunter clear
@@johnmcclane3747Homie was just using the breaker for clearing off hunters if they got close to him while using the Arc Thrower. The spray and pray is better at doing specifically that. Hence why I suggested it for that specific loadout.
@Piratederp it's better at hunter clear I agree completely. I just think breaker is better all around because of mid tier dmg.
Good list. Don't agree that the breaker was nerfed too hard, but its personal opinion. I'd move the lib pen and breaker up to B and then it'd probably be the same tier for every other weapon. Still need to get that scorcher unlocked.
U really need to try the jar. It's my new go to weapon and kills everything but the biggest like everything else
@thatguy-fu1ig Will have to try it. It's one of the few weapons I don't have yet.
The knock back on enemies, the ammo count, the deals with small/medium enemies with ease… love it
Aah the counter sniper is ofc trash for bugs but actually not bad vs bots. Sniping strider heads helps a lot
Thank you for spotting the obvious for the CoD brigade ;)
yeab but the DMR version is just as good at that, while being much more vesitile.
Personally, the Liberator Concussive is like a high B low A tier. It pushes enemies farther away than the punisher most times. I love using it with the recoiless, while a buddy uses the flamethrower so i can keep enemies from running him over while he torches
Breaker Incendiary is hands down one of the best guns in the game
Dude Yes! I've been running with it for a while now.
ya keep coming back to it
A missed note on the slugger is that it has no spread since it fires slugs. This means you need pinpoint accuracy. The punisher is a lot more forgiving and will do more damage the closer an enemy is.
The slugger also seems like it has medium armor pen, it doesn’t say so but it goes right through the armored heads of the hive guards
I think it's because it cannot strip medium armor. Just kind of passes through
Also through my own testing I find shooting the hive guard bellies from the reel back of the slugger kills them in a shot or two less. The brood commanders however is best to pop head with 2 shots and walk away. Happy Liberating!
@@trick6pokemon624 oh yeah it’s an easy one or two on the weakspots, it takes like 4 or 5 if you shoot it’s armored head
it's a fine video for opinions and i agree with some but don't criticize the dev; theyre the first AAA devs we've had in a while that really care about us, rhe playerbase
Laser weapons easily go up or down 2 tiers when moving to/from a cold planet.
ye i take these tier list with a grain of salt
mostly for fun to see what other's think
cuz to me it's weapons in this game is always depends on faction and what mission and planet and what i feel like using ofc
against bugs like using shotguns like spray and pray because they get up close and horde
against bots either shotguns incase those bots that gets close or just my support weapon
just liberator penatrator against bots
I pretty much haven’t taken off the penetrator since like a few weeks before the breaker nerf. I love the damn thing.
I usually pair it with the laser guard dog to kill the smaller enemies while I focus on beefier enemies, or my arc thrower and flame thrower when I wanna do a lot of ad clear.
I wanna like it but u just can’t kill anything with it lol
Yeah that's my main issue with it too. Recoil I can deal with, but holy crap that handling is garbage.
That's a good description, same goes for the diligence xD
The fact that all of these lists are so wildly different from each other says they honestly did a good job with balance.
It is my go-to weapon. Medium armor pen and high damage overweight every downside it has (although a minor buff couldn't hurt it at all)
No, but only the loud ones do TH-cam videos obviously.
JAR is at least A tier and not a shotgun. He didn't even used it, you can't have such a bad take after using it...
i used it for 1 H8 mission and i completely agree. my only issue is that i need to actually aim and play a little further back lol.
Don't preach fire discipline to caffeine addicted snap shooting run and gunners. ;) They can't deal with ranges of engagement or tactical roles.
Finally , someone that gives a serious and honest review of the guns instead of sugar-coating things to the point of diabetes.
Been recently consuming your content and was shocked there wasn't a primary tier list. And honestly there isn't a decent one out there at all. Thanks for providing great content.
Breaker Incendiary users: So anyway I started blasting BANG BANG!!
Literally never heard of the Knight. I dont see it in any of the warbonds, so why is in here?
Also, the JAR-5 isnt a shotgun.
You get the Knight from upgrading to the deluxe super citizen edition thing.
The knight is from buying the dlc for helldivers 2
@Ripperonis yes I know that. I have that warbond. Go back and re-read my comment. I never said the JAR wasnt in the game, I said it isnt a shotgun
@centurion-gaming9334 thank you for clearing that up. That's where I was confused.
@@nephalos666 That was a typo, meant to say the Knight but I typed the Jar instead.
Its literally all in their heads lmao. People act like something being nerfed means its no longer usable.
They act like you don't have a secondary or grenades to cover the trash before a reload...
Slugger for automatons wrecks, one shots devastators and berserkers, decent for bugs too
For me, the breaker is still extremely effective. I've never had the ammo give me problems, and if you go in first person, I've found that it practically nullifies the recoil. It's absolutely diabolical that you put it that low
So breaker is worse than plasma shotgun?
I think i play another version of helldivers
ngl the guy is too harsh with tier list anyway
Great video! Follow you since Outward mate! I needed these guides! Keep going mate
Dunno why or how it can break down something that usually takes a grenade or rocket but that’s one of its quirks.
cuz it's using a slug round
it's basically a big bullet
so it has enough power to brake those doors thin doors
@@lag00n54 It can't be emphasized enough: There are tons of properties that are not visible in the locker, but the weapons are highly simulated and have detailed statistics and very individual properties.
Bro sounds like a toddler having a tantrum about the breaker nerf. Did mommy take your favorite toy away?
Isn’t changing something from S tier to mid exactly what you want when balancing? Ideally every weapon should be mid.
Why not make every gun good instead of mid?
I would say aim for B to A tier
No ideally every weapon should be viable in all difficulties, but not overpowered, as well as as fun to use. Weak weapons are not fun. Meta weapons are also not fun because you’re pretty much forced to use them if you want to increase your chances of success on higher difficulties. If everything is viable then there is no meta and everyone can use whatever they want.
I really love the slugger for bugs more than anything else. The fact that it kills literraly everything up to chargers in 2 direct headshots is insane. For bots i prefer the sickle to the scorcher now, since ammo isn't a problem with that and it absolutely devastates devastators (pun intended)
dude just sounds like he wants every gun to have low recoil, great range and high damage aka he wants the game to be boring
Want every gun to be usable? ya that would be so boring.
it's a good thing the sickle has the best scope because its hipfire crosshair is atrocious
getting the bug that gives you the arcthrower crosshair on your primary is a breath of fresh air when I'm using the sickle
Aim with the circle?
My issue with the breaker nerf was the 50% recoil increase. Such an insane increase to the point the gun almost feels sickening to use, it's better when you crouch or dive, but it went from always being used for me, to never. I still think its a solid choice, but it FEELS bad to use
Pro tip for the Jar-5 Dominator: Turn off your flashlight. This will let you ADS without the big white cloud completely obscuring your sights.
Defender one love. The best part of uses that gun, when you shoot back while running at full speed.
Even though the fire damage is low but with incendiary rounds you can see bugs if you fighting the fog
Looks like we agree outside of the blitzer, might be using it wrong but that gun really does well from my experience, not a C, probably only a B because it is only good against bugs.
Very helpful video! Hope to see new lists like this after major buffs or nerfs!
