To be real here SVT actually did introduce some major changes for the 2011 model year one of them being that the GT500's iron block was upgraded to a new aluminum block which is were the car saved the hundred pounds from and drastically helped handling because majority the weight savings came from over the front wheels. The new aluminum block used a new patented plasma spray bore lining technology which added strength and saved weight because they did not have to use iron sleeves in the new aluminum blocks as a result of this new patented engine block plasma transfer tech! SVT also introduced a track package option for the GT500's in 2011 that included in car electronic adjustable dampers, bigger wider staggered wheel and tires, and some other goodies!
Considering that its main environment is the road course, yes, it is very fast. I mean, Ford benchmarked it against the 997 GT3 during its development. If you're into drag racing, you're better off boosting it or getting a different car that's more set up for that.
The Scat Pack is a great option. When they first hit the market, they were an affordable option with the same power. The suspension was a good balance between the different modes in SRT cars. Mine was a great car, and no SRT 392 ever beat me on any track. Traded in for a Hellcat Redeye and after driving my Redeye for a year, you really have to wonder if the extra money my Redeye was worth it. Well the supercharger whine is nice.

Derek Johnson not worried. Drive my shelby like i stole it. 10k miles , still rollin strong. Plus, long as you dont change engine parameters, ford is slappin a new one in there!shelby, for the win
@@davidkelleyiii9315 you realize a class action suit has been launched against Ford in regards to the numerous engine failures , it's more than a couple of isolated vehicles.
On paper these cars are impressive but driver skill is necessary to launch one of these well enough to not have a lil japanese awd 4 banger skrrt away from you till 3rd gear.
The only thing you didn’t talk about was how these cars put the power to the ground. What I mean is a lot of people say the GT350 really lacks in torque and therefor feels a little boring down low. I really want a GT350 but I don’t want to get bored of the way the power is delivered. Been thinking about a Hellcat. Your thoughts would be appreciated.
awesome video....wish i wouldve seen this video like 4 mths ago. i dont regret getting my gt350 but knowing to add a couple of things can make it faster. what about a resonator delete. would that help it any as well or is it myth
Just one minor mistake. Those hellcats were not that much faster in the quarter mile than a 13-14 GT500. Dodge just has a way to inflate their quarter mile times. Magazines are rarely able to achieved Dodge claimed quarter mile times. There are plenty of youtube videos racing GT500's neck and neck with Hellcats.
Stick the Voodoo crate engine in with 580 hp and beefed up bottom end and other goodies. Still naturally aspirated . I would love one in my car , $25,000 is going to be awhile.
The original Hellcat didn't run 11.1 bone stock in the quarter mile lol. The A8 Challengers were doing 11.7-11.8, and the 6-speeds were running a couple tenths slower. They've run in the mid-10s stock, but that's with other car mods, such as tire swaps. the Trinity gt500 also benefits greatly with the same mods.
This was an excellent review and I liked it! Good job!! I made a tough decision last year and decided to buy the new Bullitt instead of the GT350 because of the overall performance and styling of the Bullitt. Also I was going for a daily driver instead of a more track performance car. Since then I’ve barely driven my Bullitt because I’ve been driving a 2008 Miata I bought afterwards as a weekend car. Funny thing is I still think about the GT 350! Now I’m thinking maybe I should trade my Bullitt for a GT350! Crazy uh?! I still like the Bullitt but I really don’t drive it much at all so maybe I should just get the 350. Ford stopped manufacturing both of these now too. Last year for both 350 and the Bullitt. Buying new seems like a better idea? Carmax always has low mileage 350’s and they’re about $50. I’d lose a lot of money trading too. So I’m doing nothing. Dilemma of car addiction right?
3.7 0-60 for the 350 seems impossible. So do such massive gains from only an intake and tune where you might only pickup 40 wheel at most. Would like to see the source for this.
I don't see 2015 hellcats running 11.1 stock. Maybe with drag radials? So put drag radials to those older GT500s then it would be quicker too. So I say those hellcats are not doing 11.1 stock. The best are 11.7.
Kyle Justin you have to really light the tires up, just so heavy and shitty tires 😂 the GT350 is so legendary tho! I can’t say I ever had as much fun as do with the gt350. I loved my old GT500 too
As a former Terminator owner with a whipple... sure in a straight line, but add one curve and the Terminator is done for. Yep it had IRS, but NOTHING like what is on the GT500 (or 350). Plus good luck finding a 03/04 Terminator that hasn't been modded into the ground already. I won't even get into stuff like the crap interior of the 03/04's.
From 2015-2018 there were alot of difference from the timing chains, gears, tensioner, internals, coolers. However, 2019+ the only difference is carbon wheels, spooiler, splitter, seat delete, steering wheel, badging, stiffer suspension springs. Very few now.
Driveway Demons - considering engine issues of previous models maybe excessive hp mods aren’t a good idea just to get another second in 0-60 time. Ford went to cross plane crank in the GT500instead of the Voo Doo flat plane crank due to excessive vibrations and fear of overheating etc engine problems with that GT350 setup with supercharger. I feel that the 350 should remain stock with only a tune no major forced induction or supercharger. It’s perfect out of the box and has a warranty from Ford. Why mess with perfectly!👌🏻
Because GT350 Has The R Packages, The 800R, 1000R, 1200R, And So On That Dodge Doesn’t Offer On Charger And Challenger SRT, Unless You Order The Highest Performance Package
Thanks for all the great info, I learned some shit 👍🏽 I have a 2015 Sublime challenger Hellcat, and after watching your videos I’m really wanting a new GT-350 now lol... I’m going to wait until this virus crap is over. Fun video 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Blame Dodge ??? They didn't have any car in the game for years! Only the Viper that first came out with a simple 200 hp, then maxed out at 550. The other manufactures still had cars in the game, Chevy/Ford. When Dodge gets serious they always go 100 percent in like Nascar, came back won Championships then, too many restrictions and out just like the muscle cars in the early 70's. The Viper stepped up hp to enter the Rolex series racing just to beat the Vette, that's when they went up to 550 hp. Then they won their class against the Vette and other's and left the series to work on what is known today as the Hellcat. The Charger was brought back to satisfy the consumer with different engines just to get to where they could make the game changing Hellcat engine. Then after 4 years here come the Demon🏁, the biggest game changer. Since the technology went to the Red Eye, not to mention the Traçkhawk, and if you remember the Viper pick up truck, which was offered to the former Viper buyer's first then, the crew cab automatic trans for the family to enjoy. There is always been a pattern with Dodge/Mopar for years. Every time the step in the game it is always go big or go home, also making all other car companies to step up the game to where we are today with all people being able to love there brand ,and respect/like others as well. What a great time to drive what you like. FYI, Dodge/Mopar said back in the 80's, they would return to Nascar in the year 2,000 ,to the cup series, win and get out, they also said they would later make 10/11 second vehicles that you could put pump gas in and drive across the country with a warranty. This was 35 years ago, I still have the Magazine's to this day from the 1980's, Peace brother 💪🏻
so 101hp per liter isnt crazy the s2000 was at 123.5 hp per liter 99-2009 and the 458 Italia finally beat it in 2010 with a 1.5 hp/ liter more. If anything we just de tuned cars so people can drive them like mad and not get upset they broke
Geared to high, no torque. And the hp/tq figures don't line up to what ford says they are via dyno. They're actually significantly lower 😳 excellent drivers car, great sounding, decent handling. But not fast by no means. I can say this because I own one as well, and came from a C6 Z06 that would spank this car bone stock. Going to a C7 very soon.
Thanks for the call on hold background music. I barely heard half the shit you said but at least the music drowned out the other half of the shit you said which I’m not sure if was informative or not.
Uh... its amazing that you have to bring up an engine that was in a car that cost, when new, over 300 thousand dollars. You could get almost six GT350's for that.
the main issue with the gt350's is, is the reliability of the engine. these cars break left and right. massive motor issues with less than 10k miles. if the motor was reliable i would say its one of the best cars ever made. but sadly the motors are terrible
A friend had one , it died at a stop sign, the motor was toast , ford replaced it , and he sold it and bought a 911, I thought it was an isolated incident, but go on the internet , they are popping all over the place, like the Focus RS , with the head gaskets, Ford is not putting these things together to well
Rubbish. There are less than 2% of failures of any year gt350 from 2015-2020. They have happened yes in several cases. Well documented cases! 2 people locally here have '17 & '18 gt350s with 17k miles & 15k miles respectively with 0 issues anywhere on their cars! Change oil & other fluids 3000 miles no issues except rare instances.
So you’re saying the gt350 is beating a 2014 gt500 on a road course. Hmmm. Until I see it. It’s not happening. 120hp more. Not happening. And reality is it’s just not faster. Period.
I was talking about a 2020 and I said the power makes it faster than a GT350. If I put twin turbos on my GT350 and made exactly 760hp the exact same as the GT500, the GT350 would win on a road course. Its a better-balanced chassis and setup. The 2014 GT500 is a dog on a road course. Its literally not even in the same class as the S550. Its an outdated live rear axle. lol
Driveway Demons I agree. The GT500 in my opinion is the quarter mile car. Not really intended for a road course. You can bring it to one but that isn’t truly the intent. The gt350 is a great car specifically deserved for a road course but let’s be honest there’s nothing truly special about it. The best car in the mustang line up honestly when it comes to modification since you brought up a turbo install is essentially the regular PP1. or PP2. I mean if that’s what you’re going to use as example of the The gt350’s superiority over the gt500. It’s essentially outclassed by the PP2 after a simple tune when the gt350 is left stock. So really what is a gt350? Really when. It comes to valu? The answer is...not much more than being able to say I own a mass produced Shelby badged mustang. And this by no means is to offend. I love the car but I’m realistic with what it is too. There’s nothing truly special that can be done for less than the cobra badge and the stock striped.
stocksrt I mean let’s take the c7 grand sport manual or even auto and it will get walked by the 350 with the NEW c8 a FBO 10 speed 5.0 well eat it compare a car that’s made in the same year span not a new car compared to a old one haha
Yeah runs low 12 in the 1/4 at 117mph, 0 to 60 in 4.1, and has embarrassed several far more expensive cars on the Nurburgring, and with a simple intake and tune turns into an 11 sec car....and that's ignoring the fact it's not even built to be a drag car to begin with, but youre right it's not that fast....smh. what are you driving speedy that's such a rocket and so much faster than a gt350, because 90% of people that get on here and talk smack about cars haven't even ridden in an 11 sec or faster car, let alone actually driven or owned one
Sure because 4 sec 0-60 is sooooo slow! What your cars do it in 1.9 secs i suppose!! Always these wanna be's that drive 10 sec 0-60 cars but comment about great cars because they cant buy one!
Hope you enjoyed Episode one! What car should I do next in the series?

Derek Johnson not worried. Drive my shelby like i stole it. 10k miles , still rollin strong. Plus, long as you dont change engine parameters, ford is slappin a new one in there!shelby, for the win
@@davidkelleyiii9315 you realize a class action suit has been launched against Ford in regards to the numerous engine failures , it's more than a couple of isolated vehicles.
Very well done!
Thanks dude 💪🏻💪🏻
great video!
Dope video! 👍🏻
On paper these cars are impressive but driver skill is necessary to launch one of these well enough to not have a lil japanese awd 4 banger skrrt away from you till 3rd gear.
Driver skill is need to launch any non awd car.
@@DrivewayDemons its also needed to launch any manual awd car as well.
I'm so torn between the 13'-14' gt500, 16' gt350 and 16' hellcat. I'm in the market for buying one of em and I really don't know which one to choose
If your wanting handling go gt350 quarter mile Hellcat!
@@DrivewayDemons 5.8 Gt500 is a Monster and is only made two years
Great review and history of the Shelby mustangs. Love the color of your 350.
Thanks Nick! 🙏
I have a stock ‘18 1SS 1LE and have put 2 car lengths on two gt350’s. They ain’t shit.
Sold Mine as it’s not that fast and picked up a 130,000 LC 500 Lexus and just love it
The only thing you didn’t talk about was how these cars put the power to the ground. What I mean is a lot of people say the GT350 really lacks in torque and therefor feels a little boring down low. I really want a GT350 but I don’t want to get bored of the way the power is delivered. Been thinking about a Hellcat. Your thoughts would be appreciated.
Hey Justin! Yea I feel that low end torque down low can feel a bit thin. E85 tune takes care of that and makes the car feel so much better.
Smart choice.
Agreed 💪🏻
awesome
Thanks bro! 🤘🏻
I am impressed by your knowledge....
Thanks Michael! 🙏🏻
Not moving off lots too fast right now with the asinine asking prices😂😂🖕🏼
BRO that's a good question
Hey Arnie! 🤘🏻
awesome video....wish i wouldve seen this video like 4 mths ago. i dont regret getting my gt350 but knowing to add a couple of things can make it faster. what about a resonator delete. would that help it any as well or is it myth
Great video.. detailed info.
So much bang for the buck.
Stick the Voodoo crate engine in with 580 hp and beefed up bottom end and other goodies. Still naturally aspirated . I would love one in my car , $25,000 is going to be awhile.
That would be sick!
Hey Joel! Great car choice! The gt350 is a great car but I recommend 2019+ it’s a better engine. They are a bit more but worth it.
Driveway Demons - Thanks and what year do you have, did you buy it new or used?
dude, I daily my 350. do it
What a beautiful car.👍👍👏👏
Thanks buddy 💪🏻
3.7 0-60 for the 350 seems impossible. So do such massive gains from only an intake and tune where you might only pickup 40 wheel at most. Would like to see the source for this.
Love the video i was looking into getting one soon. How are you liking yours
I loved my old GT500 too
Or buy an old 03 Cobra and swap in a Whipple 2.9 and crush every stock GT500 except the 2020
As a former Terminator owner with a whipple... sure in a straight line, but add one curve and the Terminator is done for. Yep it had IRS, but NOTHING like what is on the GT500 (or 350). Plus good luck finding a 03/04 Terminator that hasn't been modded into the ground already. I won't even get into stuff like the crap interior of the 03/04's.
what's the difference between the GT350 and the GT350R ?
From 2015-2018 there were alot of difference from the timing chains, gears, tensioner, internals, coolers. However, 2019+ the only difference is carbon wheels, spooiler, splitter, seat delete, steering wheel, badging, stiffer suspension springs. Very few now.
You realize half a second in the 1/4 is an eternity lol
💪
Hey Zander how have you been? 💪🏻
I made up my mind and gonna buy a gt350
Great choice!
It's amazing how pedestrian 526 bhp is now.
I know right lol the GT350 is still a MONSTER if you lose some weight and add some hp. My plan is going to be really good. Lots of videos coming 💪🏻
Thanks for keeping me entertained through this whole covid19 crap.
No problem dude! I appreciate you watching. Be safe!
Because GT350 Has The R Packages, The 800R, 1000R, 1200R, And So On That Dodge Doesn’t Offer On Charger And Challenger SRT, Unless You Order The Highest Performance Package
Johnny Jayy yup!
Dude. Turn the freakin music down. Great information but don’t turn your videos into an episode of Soul Train.
Hey Corey
Hey uptown! 💪🏻💪🏻
Hmmm no Mid muffler delete exhaust Yet... you promised! lol
Its coming 😀
Ur saying e85 and an intake nets a 7 mph trap speed improvement ??
I thought he said e85 and a smaller blower pulley.
Why cant u put chevy in there huh ?
Amigo no podido conseguir raite ni dinero para el pasaje para ir a Las Vegas Pues sí claro que quiero
They're stopping making them bro
Be Ohnest
so 101hp per liter isnt crazy the s2000 was at 123.5 hp per liter 99-2009 and the 458 Italia finally beat it in 2010 with a 1.5 hp/ liter more. If anything we just de tuned cars so people can drive them like mad and not get upset they broke
Lol was this a PBD commercial.
nah not really.
Rolling a gen 1 hellcat cannot outrun a 13-14 GT500. A redeye can but not the 707 hp normal hellcat.
👍🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thanks chuck! 💪🏻💪🏻
GT350 TQ is too low vs its Ford dealer ADM's
Thanks for the call on hold background music. I barely heard half the shit you said but at least the music drowned out the other half of the shit you said which I’m not sure if was informative or not.
2015 Gt350: “NA engine doing 526 hp
Before 8 years Merc AMG M156 engine: “hold my beer 🍺 “
Uh... its amazing that you have to bring up an engine that was in a car that cost, when new, over 300 thousand dollars. You could get almost six GT350's for that.
& yet a 2019-20 gt350 would outhandle that mercedes on any track & i could own 4 gt350s & 1 '20 gt500 for that 1 merc!
the main issue with the gt350's is, is the reliability of the engine. these cars break left and right. massive motor issues with less than 10k miles. if the motor was reliable i would say its one of the best cars ever made. but sadly the motors are terrible
Change oil & other fluids 3000 miles no issues except rare instances.
only 10 mins to get to the point. Talk about dragging it out.
Because they can’t handle the track l
Made for skinny folks
A fuc.... Video without sound only bla bla what s it for?
Not that fast compared to a n/a stock c8
stocksrt I mean let’s take the c7 grand sport manual or even auto and it will get walked by the 350 with the NEW c8 a FBO 10 speed 5.0 well eat it compare a car that’s made in the same year span not a new car compared to a old one haha
Ford plastic l
They aren’t very fast.. crank hp you would think they’re fast but they just aren’t that fast.
Complete waste of money.
They seemed cool when they first came out, but I hate to say it , the motor is kind of junk
Sure because 4 sec 0-60 is sooooo slow! What your cars do it in 1.9 secs i suppose!! Always these wanna be's that drive 10 sec 0-60 cars but comment about great cars because they cant buy one!
Great video!!
