    Sorry for the miss conception on the video. Car was recently put on the dyno in NC. Car made 527whp on 93 pump gas. Temp inside shop during dyno was 98 degrees fahrenheit with a humidity level of 87%. I hope this helps clear up any confusion and miss led information.

    Over 600 Hp at the wheels??? So....like near 700 Hp at the crank while still naturally aspirated...and all that increased power by doing exhaust work and a tune.....right

      on e85, people are getting low 500s RWHP. The highest hes at on a 93 tune will be around 485-490 on the extremely high end of the spectrum. That dude is so full of it i can smell it from my house.

    The GT350 with the factory tune, things don’t really begin to happen until you hit 4K. For a street car, for me, that’s a benefit. You can use that very controllable lower power around town and when you want, get crazy. Brutal power across the rev range is great for the track. For the street, not so much.

    • @JamesSalvatore

    This was a great vlog. Content and conversation with this gentleman was a great look. I mean what do you do when you can have a C8 or a GT 350 R. What I opted for (and I'm a Ford guy) was the C8. That is the base car and hottests car for a vlog right now.

    • @eurly93
      @eurly93 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I just picked up a c7 for about 10k less than the average used gt350 and almost half the price of a c8 with only 30k miles. I was waiting to see if the c8 came in manual but no dice so back to c7 vs 350. Then I started noticing how many 350s were having engine and oil problems so that was a no go since the car has to be my daily and bulletproof. Needless to say there is no better value car than c7 right now and I couldnt be happier. It's a beast for the price. Maybe not as rare at a gt350 but its a little faster than the 350, cheaper, better fuel economy, more reliable, etc. you just have to be able to live with the old man in new balance sneakers stigma

  • @JonathanGurgul

    Using a harness like that without a HANS device and helmet is extremely dangerous. The factory seatbelts have a calibrated amount of give to reduce peak g forces to the driver in a crash. All of that energy is now transferred to your neck instead of the seatbelt with a harness.

      He can use it if the harness is an ASM harness, I have one in my GT3 and can use it without a hans for daily driving. It allows one side to break away like a standard 3 point system. But looks like his is not theASM model

    • @tcolley
      @tcolley 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      PS4GameCapture Ari that’s exactly right and Schroth does an ASM in the 3 inch so you can run a 4 point harness without the risk of submarining. I’m not sure either if this is them because the breakaway portion would be obscured over his left shoulder.

    Great vid James. That GT350 should not be smoking just 1Q low on oil. Many of the street tunes have produced fueling issues causing cylinder 4 rings to over heat, scoring the cylinder wall from piston ring damage. Take a look at that spark plug, perhaps a leak down test. Love the content...

    I like performance vehicles like this Shelby here as well as the All New Chevrolet Corvette. Bad thing in this video is that having a modified exhaust not only increases noise pollution, but also increases the amount of gas you use. For a great price like this for this years' vehicle in the video, I'd say it's perfect for buying especially even when you want to customize it. Sad thing is you cant customize your wheel design. There's nothing bad I have to say about this especially the great thing about the gallons per mile. And I forgot to mention if you push it to it’s limits whether or not, you’re going to constantly consider changing tires, which are expensive.

The bottom line for most of us is the cost and value issues. The cost benefits are marginal compared to the very powerful and good looking GT level Mustangs.

It seem to be about 1” above the ground and would easily scrape in driveways and curbs etc etc? I’d be worried about hitting or bottoming out all the time on road. Not for street use more for a flat track?

    Would the Shelby 2.9L supercharger match well to the motor. The turbo kits are not a favorite for me. I would run any car that I’m picking up the air for the intake low down by the road. With the turbos down under the motor you can only run small are filters. They are not rated for the CFM that you are pulling though it. I bet all the people that have the kit can pull off the air filter and wipe the inside of the turbo and get a finger full of dirt.

The cold air take didn’t even add 5rwhp to begin with, the CAI’s are so well built OEM you get no gains going aftermarket especially on a car like a 350 where the CAI is already very well. My whipple supercharged 2017 GT makes 650rwhp with cat deletes like his car on a 91 tune. The absolute MOST this car makes is 500rwhp

  • @mikewatch1487

    Way to loud and under 4000rpm nobody home torque wise. It’s great for the track but will drive you nuts as a DD. A few engines have been replaced and will continue until the warranty is up. Vibration seems the big problem. Drive it hard and prepare for oil consumption and future replacement.

    Great video.. A new GT 350 or the regular GT. Decusion.
    I have a 1995 GT. WIth a 5 speed. I have almost 300000 miles. Had it since 2001. Yea stuff around the engine breaks. But the internals rock solid. I can still roll and burn the tires.. Reliability is important. Dont want to spend the dough on the 350 if it is not as reliable as the 5.0

    • @JamesSalvatore
      @JamesSalvatore  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah if your looking for reliability I'd go 5.0 that's crazy though 300k that's a lot of miles. Thanks for sharing👌🏻

    • @ZFA1738
      @ZFA1738 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you have the money I’d go for 2019-2020 gt350 which it priced around 65-70k. If not then the 5.0 is far from a bad choice.

  • @James-WM
    @James-WM 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I don't know who needs to read this, but horsepower isnt everything. Gear ratio and torque are much more involved in "seat of the pants" feeling. And 700 horsepower out of a 500hp factory long block without head work or cams? No.

    Truthfully you can get these smiles from a much cheaper GT especially with a manual. What would you do if you owned a GT? My GT is fun and sounds great too, but not the same as the GT 350. Not so sure I should trade my car plus another $30k for a different Mustang even if more obnoxious sound. Shelby cars burn much more oil. You need to check the oil each time you fill up I guess. Shelby burn oil because they have high revving flat plane crank engines. The GT is a great looking fast car and sells new with premium and PP1 for about $20 k less new. That’s not chump change.

    • @ZFA1738
      @ZFA1738 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Gt is a great car and will definitely put a smile on your face. The gt350 is a unique mustang and the voodoo exhaust note is intoxicating. But with the oil consumption issue, replaced engines, and price tag, I’d stick with a 5.0 and use the thousands of dollars saved for modification. I had a 2020 GT that I totaled and I was contemplating on getting a gt350 but I’d rather get another 5.0 and just modify it.

  • @Justintm

    • @Lokedog96
      @Lokedog96 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That could have been part of the issue because i drove it back from Virginia all highway miles not enough change in rpm along with many of the other problems the 2016-2018 engines had. The original engine actually blew up and they replaced it with a brand new 2020 engine
