I love the Leicester Section, first travelled it in 1967 when there were very few boats about. So quiet in fact that the water point was in one of the lower locks on the Watford flight, so you filled up while in the lock. There was still some commercial traffic on the GU main line and as a hire boat we had to get out of the way. As our hire boat was an ex 'Severner' with a 3' 3" draft we often came in contact with the bottom of the cut.

Thanks for watching , the front is the motor boat, the second is a butty it doesn't have an engine so is towed by the motor boat.

@Acapulc941 it’s how it used to be back in the working days of the canals the boats would have open holds for carrying coal, the motor would tow the butty enabling more goods to be transported.
We can access most of the system some of the northern locks are a little shorter so we can’t fit.
