Last time we were in Leicester was in the late 80s. We moored up one afternoon and were soon boarded by two glue sniffers. They were totally out of their heads and had no idea what they were doing. We managed to encourage them off the boat and moved on. They didn't mean any harm, but unfortunately it created our lasting impression of the River Soar in Leicester. However, I do like to see some industry still working next to the canal/river.

Yes unfortunately there’s still an element of this around only it’s not just glue these days.

Leicester has certainly been transformed since l left about 50 years ago .lt looks a lot cleaner than it did then (black and grubby ,post industrial) lt will be interesting to see the canal /river past West Bridge and on .

Alan, do you think the trading is better when there are traders selling food? I wish I could try out the Pizza on Board boat. Wood fired Pizza is the best! Cheers

Hi Brian, the Pizza boat is good, don’t think it makes much difference for us to be honest we tend to have a steady turn over for customers in various locations.
