Hey just wanted to shout out and say great video. Still trying to get my Vortex working but your video has given my a greater understanding of what I need to do to make it right....thanks so much for the effort and very impressive with one hand BTW
NIce fix, sometimes I get lucky and can just remove the bowl and spray some carb spray up into the main jet, also the surging is generally caused by the idle jet being plugged. Lots of time I will open up the idle jet by one mini drill size and the engines will run much better. EPA is making the engine MFG's run the engines way to lean. Thanks for great video.
Thank you!! Im glad you are enjoying them. Thank you for watching, commenting and supporting my channel. Please share the channel to help it grow! It would be greatly appreciated :)
Thank you so much! I was able to drain the gas out of the carburetor and replace it with freah gas. That did the trick. It runs now, but not well with the choke at "run"
You very welcome, thank you for sharing and the kind comment. When you get a chance, after the season is over, I would suggest follow the rest of the video and clean the carburetor. It should get it back to running without the choke on. Then try and run non ethanol gas, Aspen4 or equivalent. Please give this video a thumbs up, subscribe if you haven't already and share my channel to help it grow. It would be greatly appreciated! Take care.
I was hoping I just had bad gas, so I flushed the system and it still didn't start. I followed your clear instruction on how to remove and clean the carburetor and it fired right up! Thank you!
I’m glad this was helpful and your back up and running! Just make sure to either totally run your machine out of fuel at the end of the season or make sure you’re running your machine once every other month for about 20 minutes to make sure the gas stays fresh inside the carburetor. Thank you for sharing and the kind comment. Please give this video alike and share my channel to help it grow. It would be greatly appreciated.
Nice video. I haven’t seen this generation of this engine yet in person but I believe they heard us mechanics cussing about having to remove all that gingerbread on previous models.
Simpler and no throttle. Not sure how I feel about starting a snow thrower in very cold conditions straight to fast. 5W30 oil it is! Thank you for watching, commenting and supporting the channel!
Toro does that preset governed speed on some of those single stage 4 stroke snow blowers. As for 5w30 I do that. Especially in the older tecumseh flathead snow king engines. I have an old sears craftsman snow blower on my channel that runs an H70 snow king engine and I always ran 5w30 in it. I do 5w40 in the newer OHV machines as well.
How long did you run the ultrasonic cleaner for in your mix with simple-green and water? Also did you end up putting in the entire carb too or just the jets? Great video. First time starting mine up in 2 years and it is only running on full choke and surging. Checked the oil, gas, and spark. Those are good / fresh. Time to pull the carb in a 10 degree garage lol
30 minutes, yes, simple green and water. Everything goes into the cleaner. I highly suggest cleaning all jet passage ways with a wire before putting into cleaner.
Good morning. I have a Storm 2410 that wont start and don’t know the history of it-it had some fuel in it-i wasn’t thinking and added some fresh fuel and the spark plug was cracked so i replaced that and still wont start. After watching this I’m thinking i need to drain the fuel and try some starting fluid and see if it runs that bit and go from there? Guessing this machine is close to the one you did the video on? I am a subscriber now and thank you for any other information you could give me! Have a good day

@@JohnsonsSmallEnginesHi thank you for getting back to me-I did drain fuel and when I replaced spark plug-porcelain was broken-new plug wouldn’t go in all the way and didn’t wanna force anything! Wondering if I got the right replacement-not sure-did spray starting fluid in it and got it to crank over and then died! Concerned about plug now though? Any info from you and or anyone would help! Thank you again. Have a good night

Great video. Feels great after repairing to have it start like that.
100%. Even after 30 years in the business, I still get that feeling!
Very informative. Thanks the journey
