    Two thumbs up. Great video. Clear. Concise. Instructional. I my 2410 is less than a year old. I used it twice last year and did not do the proper summer prep hence it didn't start when I needed it to. I'm surprised at how fragile and sensitive to debris that carburetor is. Mine was mostly clean with a few trouble spots. 30 years ago I was a trained diesel mechanic and used to be an ace at repairing detroit diesel engines for a city bus company. Your video was a heck of a lot easier than reading an any mechanical instructional manual. Thanks!

    Followed your instruction 1-year ago and it worked out beautifully. I left gas in it until now and it's not starting so figured carb jet was gunked up. I first replaced the spark plug, oil and gas and it started up one time, but won't turn over again. So, I followed your carb instructions again. It started right up and I ran it for a few minutes and turned off. It won't turn over again and not sure why. Any idea what's going on?

    If it's important for fit or function, I believe your carburetor bowl was reassembled with a 90 degree rotation from your disassembly position at the beginning of your video. While yours is the best of the three videos I've watched on carb disassembly and cleaning, I noted that in one of the other two videos the instructor specified that the drain bolt was supposed to be 180 degrees from the fuel inlet tube. Again, this matters only if it's important for fit or function in putting the cover back on.

      you can, but its a bit dicey getting the bowl float on and off w/o accidentally dropping the pin and losing it... don't ask me how I know this.

      There are some real small holes in the throat of the carb on the throttle end - I use a strand of wire from a “ speaker wire “ - bent it on the end and clean the holes - be careful so you don’t break the end off - a wire from a wire brush may work - but may be to big

    • @Jeff-vj3jp

  • @russellmaddock3492

    On the MTD carburetors with the metal fuel inlet, there is a screen behind the inlet elbow. Sometimes this screen can become plugged and needs to be cleaned. Using a pair of vise grips twist and pull slowly and it should come off. Using a pic, the screen can be removed and cleaned with carb cleaner. There is also an idle circuit jet that should be removed and cleaned. I think that was missed in this video. Other than that, great video.

    • @russellmaddock3492
      @russellmaddock3492 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I have a Troy bilt 2410 but my problem is that it has a rough idle, and works rough too.. I have to use choke to run it, it dies while on run 🥲 and it smells like gas, burns rich I guess how could I fix that?

    • @ThatGuyReviews
      @ThatGuyReviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, not much you can do about the smell. It's part of owning a gas running snow blower.

    • @juanjohnism
      @juanjohnism ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Your low speed ( idler) jet it blocked. If your snow blower motor is surging or you need to have the choke on to keep the engine running smooth clean the low speed jet. Its under the idler plastic screw. Just use a small screw driver to get it out. Clean it with a thin wire strange and use carb cleaner also. Then you have completely cleaned the entire carb. 2 more minutes of time.
