try using 2 smooth steel rods in the carb bolt holes- first- then stack the parts on the rods- push the carb against the the block - replace rods with the bolts 1 by 1

Aspen is a engineered fuel. Aspen also burns very clean.
I have one of these guys, and at end of the season I shut off the fuel, and run the carb dry. Never pulled it more than two times the next season.
