      that's significantly more than 300lbs and more than 60% over early 200lbs spec. but still OK but heavier than a zero FX 3.6kWh (247lbs) or even 7.2 kWh (289lbs) that are faster and more powerful and look like proper full size motorcycle with passenger pegs, that don't like there belong to a toy. it makes sense because hub motors are heavier than mid drives that can have lower torque, spin faster, to produce same power, and multiply the torque to the wheel through gearing, but somehow I wanted to believe that the single piece aluminum frame could allow lighter weight. now without Regen I don't see a single reason to use rear hub except price because even efficiency won't match a mid drive with Regen like zero motorcycles. hopefully Regen gets added through updates

    8Kw motor draw on a 4kw battery will only last you a half hour that's true but what you factored in wrong is that 8kw doesn't get you to 80 mph 14.5kw does. 8kw will get you to 62-65 mph. So at 80mph(14.5kw draw) you are only gonna have 17 minutes run time which will allow you to travel about 25 miles at 80 mph on a full charge. The only way you will get 80 miles of range is to keep your motor at 2kw which is like 35 mph. Even then you will only get 70 miles of range so 1500watt draw like 30-32 mph is 80 miles range. Realistic range for this thing is averaging 50 mph(4k watt draw) and getting 50 miles. So I expect range tests will give this thing between 50-60 miles with normal road driving so like 55 miles range.

      @Jolly-Green-Steve ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tomjenkins5637 it would get 60 miles if you averaged 45 mph the whole time and didn't go above 50 mph. If your normal commutes are more than 30 miles in any direction I would say get a gas bike. This bike would be much better with an added battery to get it up to 7kw whether Sondors offers it or it's aftermarket. Then you would have 90-100 miles of range at 45 mph instead of 60 miles. If Sondors could offer that bike with 7kw for 8 grand it would be still undercutting the Zero Motorcycles equivalent by 4 grand.

      The biggest shortcoming IMO is the suspension, which is barely adequate (or not even, if you check out Smith Longworth's ride test video!), so with the additional weight of an optional 3kWh battery (yet to be available) this bike might well be unrideable on average streets. Big unsprung weight @ the rear, with a very short swingarm, and not much fork travel, all compared to the Husqvarna that supposedly inspired this design, are big weak points in the concept & execution.

    I mean, does it look cool? Yes. But the main goal (or what seemed to me) is to be one of the first affordable highway capable electric bikes. That being the case, why did they come up with the most expensive way to make a frame? Why not use a standard motorcycle frame and reduce the price by at least $500. Custom (and uncomfortable) seat, why not an off-the-shelf item? Reverse? (it's less than 300lb, who needs motorized reverse). I'm sure they also put a lot of research and resources in the battery design only to have it not be easily removable. I can think of so many ways to reduce cost while keeping performance the same and increasing comfort. If they could have kept it at the $4,500 price range, I'd get one for sure. With price, tax, and delivery now over the $7k range, no way. Don't get me wrong, I love watching the ride videos. Love the whisper quiet speed.

The pricing is off by about 2k, and I understand it's a start up, but trying to make all the money back right away is not an efficient recipe for getting your product out there and seen everywhere. I like the looks, and the apparently wireless charging on the tank, but that mans no tank bag or los ethe utility of that trick...over all, I'd say great start! but that's more aligned with a prototype, or proof of concept than a production model built for the masses that could really use it.

    A $6K gas motorcycle from any of the big brands is so much faster, has much, much more range if traveling say 50-60mph which is not uncommon and for the same money.

    Congrats on almost getting 5k subscribers.
    I feel there's a spectrum of cool ebike becoming a shitty motorcycle. I think maxing out the ebike is easy to do, if you want bigger and better, just get an actual motorcycle.

    THAT WOULD BE THE DAY WHEN I SPENT $5,000 ON SOMETHING THAT ONLY WENT 80 MI AND THEN WAIT A LONG TIME TO HAVE A CHARGE 🤣
    And people forget battery powered anything The batteries don't last a long time. You'll be replacing those batteries every 5 to 8 years. AND THE PRICE IS GOING TO BE ASTRONOMICAL.. probably 2 or $3,000 or something like that.

      You do know the price of gas vs. electricity. You'll save the cost of battery replacement in 2 years, with a regular commute average of 25 miles.

    This crap company had me waiting over a year, I was fully paid. Just waiting....I finally cancelled and got a full refund after finding out new orders were getting a quicker delivery estimate then me. I guess they didn't want my business because I was locked in at $5000 . Lose me and sell that same bike for $6500. GFY

    Company is not very trustworthy brought the bike in 2019 and still waiting for the bike been delivered. Tried to cancel and get the money back, they said its impossible because the bike was in production. You paid 5k for the bike 700 for the delivery and the registration, you need to go and deal with DMV. Im not happy at all. I already decided soon I received the bike I will put in the market for sale, even before to do the registration. 🛵
