- Electric motorcycles haven't hit the mainstream yet, but it's time for all of that to change. I took the plunge and decided to order a new electric motorcycle...the METACYCLE by SONDORS. I would've gone with zero electric motorcycle instead . You can pick up used 7.2kwh for cheap
I'm a first batcher, but I don't think people realize how small it is. Jay Leno is in a pic standing next to it and he towers over it.
I'm constantly changing my mind on this bike as I'm worried it's just too small physically. I'm just over 6'2" and I don't want to look like a giant sitting on it. I'm riding a Versys X-300 so I'm no power junkie but I want something comfortable for my size.

I'm in the same boat as you. I made myself feel better about the delay by thinking of it like an early Christmas present! I live in Georgia so year round riding is guaranteed :)

lol March 1st, 2022 and I was told the same thing, Q3 then Q4, I am #6×× ...one of the first 1000, and yes first 2000 get it signed by Storm Sondors himself, woopty doo!! Leon said a lot of things to everyone, yes Q4 yes this yes that and we're "supposedly" now getting it June 2022, I wouldn't count on it 🤷♂️

You mean Sondors has indeed bought a Beast of a ebike from his Chinese supplier. Sondors has never created a damned thing. He orders from China, same as everyone else. Just got a bunch of suckers to play for his first go round.

3:47 Due to the fact that the Zero has 7KW battery vs Sondors 4KW you can already see that Sondors is being completely unrealistic with their range. The only way you are getting 80 miles range out of the Sondors is to never go over 25 mph the whole time.
By looking at the comparison of features I can see the Cake has the massive task of reviewing their products/prices. This Sondors Metacycle is HOT!
I can’t wait for my MetaCycle, already reserved mine for Q1 2022 🤞I was thinking to grab a Sur Ron but I don’t mind to wait. I just received my electric moped/scooter. 2000 watts, 60 v, 50 miles for distance and top speed of 40 mph.
When was the last time somebody received any bike from Sondors. I would try to get my money back sounds like they're going under.

@@ryanjay707 I don't blame you hundred $ not bad, some guy the other day told me he's got two bikes on order from them, paid in full for close to a year now almost seven grand total . Although it does seem like they're advertising like crazy lately.
@@mjsmjs7905 yes in a situation like that I would be very annoyed. Also being in a Quarter 1 for next year helps me put my mind at ease once I start seeing people make posts/videos about their Metacycles.
I'm an early adopter, paid in full, waiting for that Q3 delivery (😆)spoke to Leon (this is my opinion as an EV tech and long life motorcycle commuter not feedback from Leon)actually work near the Irvine spectrum (sondors range demonstration next to facility) IMO it's gna fall in line with other motorcycle manufacturers. Overpromise & underdeliver/ pay attention to the fine print and "pending riding conditions". There's two speeds advertised. One to validate their claims so you can expect 125cc scooter performance for range and 60% of full hardware potential (stock controller limiting). That is my my calculation behind settings. Real world SoCal range will have to likely run full power mode so realistically range will be approx 42-52 miles at 73mph-ish(which won't cut it in CA freeways which is why they have zero footage ok freeways). EV consumers are set up for disappointments because of advertisements. Sondors needs to be transparent about what they are really selling. They gna try hard to satisfy first buyers but what where I think are failing is advertising it as a motorcycle. It's not. It's a glorified scooter replacement. Similar to a KTM Duke 390 at best with less range. motorcycle riders I think are not gna be Happy with it un okless ya buy the 3kw battery and a level 2 charger and buy an aftermarket ASI that'll bring up too mph a lil and range a lil. It's going to be interesting but I'm not holding my breath. It's a big hub motor with 4kw batter bolted low. It's nothing special. It's just cheaply priced commuting. As long as it can be remembered as a city scoot or a lazy ebike because that pretty much all it is, it's gna do well. If they keeping pumping a rhoetoric that it's an electric motorcycle than well
Ya might have a bunch of buy backs for the scooter community or new riders to jump on. I'm hoping the aftermarket work will come thru on it because if not, it's a SUR RON x with an ASI and 72X battery upgrade from chibattery systems. The advertisements and build up may work against the release of it as well.
"Why I chose Sondors Metacycle" in September, 2021 - but it is now May, 2022, and they are *still* not in production? Be careful - there have been lots of EV company failures.
Wait a bit longer and spend your money on the F77 from Ultraviolette Automotive! That bike will be the BEST selling bike in the World real soon! The Brains behind that bike is beyond any other Manufacturer by light years!
Wish they had a storage cage for the hole in the middle. Looks cool but waste of space
what is sonders doing about theft protection? this bike is going to attract alot of attention so its very likely someone will try to steal it because its small and lightweight.
i'm going with a albus padlock and a 6 foot, #12 chain..... fortunately there is a giant locking point right there at the top
Not shipping them out. If you don't get the bike, no one can steal it from you.

I wish they had not started painting the bike. The original was just unpainted, polished aluminum frame which looked fantastic. Now they have a cheap painted look. They need to offer another option with no paint on the frame, like the original.

Did you ever get this motorcycle? I was looking at the Kolter ES1-S pro. I think it is actually for sale.
I ordered the metacycle in December. The website said 100 deposit but they billed my card $5000. I cancelled my order and I have been trying to get my money back ever since. Today they sent me an email asking if I would like to reinstate my order. I guess they think I might rather have the bike than nothing. They are wrong. I know how they treat customers if something fails guaranteed you are left in the cold. These people do not care about their customers at all. I'll sue to get my money back. Better than trying to sue if I get a lemon. Just telling you about my experience with this company to maybe save someone some unneeded headaches.
The problem: The sondors is vaporware! The price is totally unrealistic, it will never happen! I wish someone can prove me wrong.

Charging time for the Metacycle to the Cake Kalk's 51-mile max is about 2.4 hours vs 3 hours for the Cake. Your comparison needs to be a bit fairer. I'm also waiting for my Metacycle.

Well who else is in this same boat? Promised delivery days slipping? So here's what I am waiting for. I ordered a Rivian in Nov 2018, now waiting three years and still no answer, still waiting. Also ordered a Cyber Truck for $100, way way back in line, so still waiting. I also ordered a Semi Truck on April 2021, still waiting. Then I ordered a Nobe 100, also waiting. I also ordered 2 Meta Cycles on Aug 23rd, 2021, still waiting! Hope they don't all show up at the same time!

One other brand that looks like this one, has a selling price of 29k
While it is certainly (IMHO) the most exciting elec on the "market"... I'm going to have to wait and see. It was always obvious that they'd miss the 3Q target, I'm wondering if they will even make 4Q... They'd do better to be more upfront with the market. Rule no1... Don't make promises you can't keep.
I'm nervous about the advertised max speed and range, too. The motor and battery don't seem big enough to live up to the promise. I have faith Sondors will amaze me but all my less hopeful family and friends love to cast doubts into my heart.

q4 was the original delivery date, so they aren't late ...yet.

The difference is that zero makes and cells actual bikes. You can actually buy one for said price. The the Sondors, that's not the actual price you can buy one for. (Show me a single person who paid $5k and actually received a bike) That was just a lowball price to get reservations. Now we're up to 6k, still can't find a single video from an actual owner...who knows what it'll cost by the time you can actually buy a bike?
It's not fair to compare a an advertised price that no one's actually been able to buy a bike for vs the price of a bike that people can actually buy. This video is claiming you were delayed from 3rd quarter 2021 to 4th quarter....here we are half way through 2022, sooooo where's the bike?
Did you ever receive the metacycle?
I ordered one in black and yeah I contacted them and Leon said 4th quarter. Where I live that means I won’t be able to ride it until the spring. I was looking forward to riding in October and November but I’ll probably get it at the end of December with a foot of snow outside. ☹️

Mission has a good bike but it's overpriced. Now if sonders came out with a kit that has all the metacycle,meta yule, but fits a Honda rebel chassis that would be a true low budget option
So basically you pay the company $100 deposit on buying an electric motorcycle that you have to wait 6 years to actually receive well in that case I have some oceanfront property high up in the mountains I would like to sell you
