In the AWE expansion, you can find an alien, but he's seemingly been locked up in there for decades. It's doubtful he had anything to do with, but there are canonically aliens in the series. Since they're a shared universe, the question now is of the chicken and egg variety. Which came first, alien contact of some kind which introduced the AWEs or did the AWEs bring the aliens.
Considering there's forces at work in that universe far more powerful and dangerous than aliens, I'd say the aliens are as much at their mercy as everyone else is.
Thank you for this. Most content creators abuse of the same easter eggs over and over, making difficult to see something actually new. Definitely not you. What a fantastic compilation and editing.
The drunk guy in Alan Wake talking about Danny being a "space alien" is actually alluding to the fact that the people in Bright Falls are being possessed (or "Taken") by the Dark Presence. When this happens, the person is basically dead and their body becomes little more than a puppet filled with darkness. Obviously, Walter didn't understand this and chalked it up to aliens; but you do fight the Taken Danny later in the game, which confirms his story.
in Yakuza 6 when you beat the game an item called "ufo detecter" becomes avalible at the pawn shop, when you buy it and equip it UFO's can be seen at multiple places in both cities with no use or explanation.
The Choro Q stuff is likely a reference to the movie Invasion of the Body Snatchers. In the movie aliens come to Earth and begin replacing the inhabitants with dopplegangers grown in fleshy pods, which the protagonists refer to as Pod People. In Choro Q, an exact replica of Rosspury emerges from a giant pea pod, making the duplicate a Pod Person (or Pod Car I guess).
I’ve been fascinated with Easter eggs and secrets in video games since I was young. I’ve seen so many Easter Eggs and secrets I started running out of things to see. I kept watching the same ones over and over, until I discovered oddheader. He never makes the same videos as other Easter egg and secret hunters. Watching him I’ve learned about so many things that other creators never showed. Dude is great at what he does and that brings me back every time knowing I’m gonna see something new.
Im assuming the peapod thing in ChoroQ is just a cheeky reference to "Invasion of the Body Snatchers", which had Pods in it that cloned people to replace them with aliens. The toilet thing in Silent Hill 4 may just be a joke reference to Silent Hill 2, where James had to fish a wallet out of an extremely gross toilet.
It's worth noting that SH4 wasn't originally meant to be a Silent Hill game at all but rather a different, unique horror game simply called The Room that, while set in the same universe, would have no important connections to the story of Silent Hill beyond maybe a few easter eggs. It only had the Silent Hill name slapped onto it along with some hasty connections to the Order because the higher-ups were worried it wouldn't sell otherwise. With that in mind and considering the point you made about the scrapped item descriptions being in English even though localization isn't normally done until late in a game's development, I'm guessing that the game wasn't originally going to have a UFO ending because that's a Silent Hill tradition, not a The Room tradition, then when it was forced to become a Silent Hill game late in development they started trying to implement one, and finally it was hastily scrapped anyway because they couldn't finish putting it together before the deadline. It doesn't explain everything, but it's food for thought.
How the fuck does this still get thrown around? This is not true and has been debunked by developers. Do you have any source for saying that all the Silent Hill connections were added later?
I heard that's just a rumour because the development code name was simply "The Room" but that it was developed as a Silent Hill game from day 1. Also some games have localization happen alongside the original writing to make sure both are very similar. There also is the case that some Japanese companies sometimes release games in America first. I believe at the time SH4 came out Mario & Luigi and a Sonic game or two have done it, plus maybe some smaller names.
That's a misconception around the internet one of the developers outright said in an interview that The room was always a silent hill game. Tsuboyama: We wanted to make a sequel after Silent Hill 3 and you could say that was the initial concept, but upon that we needed to implement a lot of new flavour to the sequel, otherwise it would have been the same old Silent Hill. So for that, we created "The Room" as the concept for the game, so that we could use to represent the contrast between the normal and the abnormal life which changes suddenly. For the scenario we got our general influence from a book called Coin Locker Babies, which was written by a Japanese writer called Ryu Murakami. It talks about a baby abandoned in a coin locker. That was the general background.
Hunting Unlimited 3. This triggered an old memory from way back in my childhood that could possibly be the reason for its existence. This possibly clues to an "alien movie" easter egg. I do not remember the name but I remember this scene very vividly. The alien approaches one of the characters houses, and sticks his fingers underneath the front door frame. The character then uses an axe he was holding, and chops off the aliens fingers. I remember it as well because it was also in a robot chicken parody skit they made one time. So that's my theory, and if someone could tell me if they know the movie I'm talking about, then let me know!
There are TH-cam Videos I'm watching while going to sleep or while I'm working. And there are TH-cam Videos like yours that I'm watching on a big screen, without distractions and some snacks. Thanks for the great entertainment!
14:25 American translator Jeremy Blaustein worked closely with Team Silent throughout the series to ensure that the story and characters resonated with western audiences. He also wrote the English script and assisted with the voice acting. His contribution has often been forgotten, but it's thanks to his support that Silent Hill has retained a cult following. So Im not surprised there is English in the game, they most likely co-wrote the script in both English and Japanese. I doubt Silent Hill 2-4 even has Japanese voice acting. I imagine the Japanese version has subtitles. The toilet is just a reference to show different Henry is from James in Silent Hill 2.
I had a really fun Stardew Experience of not checking one distant corner of my farm for like two weeks and then just walking over to it at the start of a new spring to clear all the like rocks and branches and seeing an empty capsule right next to an owl statue.
Probably useless note on the Strange Capsule event in Stardew Valley but it wasn’t actually made more common more that originally the capsule was bugged, normally events of that type (that spawn objects) work where after the event triggers it scans around 100 tiles on the farm and places the object on a random clear tile however the Strange Capsule event was bugged where it would instead require every random tile it scanned to be clear (which was typically not possible due to the game also potentially scanning water, the player’s house or other tiles that are impossible to clear) so it’s still the same chance in 1.5 but they fixed it so it works like any other item spawning event (and was probably not fixed till 1.5 due to ConcernedApe only adding more to the event in that update) Also on the “our ancestors came from the sky” line the lore in Stardew would more likely imply thats related to the Dwarfs as they’re canonically aliens who crash landed on earth in ancient times
For people playground, the alien-like sounds in hybrid are still in-game (named c.ogg) but the radius and volume has been lowered a fair bit, as for the end-result. yeah It's still not solved and we'd very much like if people would help us out on trying to figure it out!
Such a huge fan of your videos! Had a question though, how long does it take for someone who submitted something to you for it to work it's way into a video? Probably varies heavily depending on topic. Thanks alot!
I've mentioned one ufo related one or two years ago and he said he'd put in the alien special video, which I was guessing he forgot or scrapped, but here's the video. The one I've mentioned isn't here tho... I guess that if it's something big and/or complex, he'll feature fast, as it's more interesting
It depends on the genre and how many others fit since he does usually 10 mysteries at once, so if you have one about a topic that's obscure it'll probably be a while. It also depends on how well documented it is that can be researched
I really like how in the Silent Hill universe the aliens are actually more powerful than any of the supernatural demon stuff. Like the secret ending of SH3 where they blow up the entire town from their UFOs, it's like they are going "f*ck this shit".
Unless but interesting fact about that car PG. The toys are what G1 Bumble Bee turns into. The toy he was based on oringaly was meant to be a tiny robot that turns into a toy car, rather than a full scale VW beetle that turns into a big robot.
It's crazy how the first and only time I ever really played stardew valley I experienced both the capsule and the showed figue both in one sitting with the showed figure happening multiple times in one night
In the days before the 1.5 update of Stardew Valley, the Strange Capsule and Stone Owl (which did and still do share the same spawn conditions) were so rare that the few people who knew about them weren't even sure they really existed in the game or if they were unused assets. I seem to recall ConcernedApe saying either on Twitter or in the 1.5 patch notes that this was because of a mistake in the code that made their spawn conditions next to impossible to fulfill. The 1.5 update fixed the mistake and restored their spawn conditions to what they were supposed to be all along. They're still rare, but nowhere near as infamously rare as they used to be.
I played hunting unlimited 3 when I was a kid a ton and I completely forgot till now but there is 100% a UFO lodged into the ground in one of the maps. I am certain of it, I vividly remember finding it and walking around on it as a kid
The Beanpod from that car game is likely a play on the "pod" people from Invasion of the Body Snatchers, where the aliens steal humans and replace them with identical duplicates, which are grown in pods.
I don't know what alcohol he was drinking for people to think that it made him to hallucinate. In all of my years not once did I ever hallucinate when drinking alcohol...
Silent Hill 4 released in Japan with English language options and voiceovers and everything, you could import it and get the same experience as the US version (I did to play it 3 months before release). From working with localization teams on games myself, most likely the spreadsheet contains a raw dump of all the sentences, items, etc. that are translated en masse which winds up including cut content.
The toy car was modeled after "penny racers" and the pea ie pod is obviously a nod to Invasion Of The Body Snatchers with pod people clones that take over. I recommend the version with Leonard Nimoy, Jeff Goldblum, and Donald Sutherland because its has a wide cast and has a cute little alien hobo dog 😏
The beans aren't "green beans" but rather Japanese "edamame", or "soya beans". Perhaps it's a reference to the "pod people" from "The Body Snatchers", as beans are in pods, just as the invasive plants in that film are. The plant aliens also attached to, absorbed and replaced their human hosts in that film too.
3:54 The severed fingers may be something to do with using a bow?, in mideval england once a archer was captured they used to chop the 2 fingers off so they couldnt use a bow, they used to taunt enemies giving them the outward v in defiance (its a rude gesture nowadays in uk)

However, there are level 10 doors around the map but no way to get to level 10 security. So dantdm installed a hack that allowed him level 10 security but when he went through the door he fell through the map... but what Dan didn't notice was something in the background as he was falling... it was pretty hard to see. I would understand if u can't find it. Y DO THIS COMMENT KEEP GETTING DELETED!
The Stardew Valley one is unlikely to get an update since CA is hard at work on his next game and, to the best of my knowledge, doesn't plan on doing anything besides minor bug fixes for Stardew anymore.
There is a Stardew update 1.6 coming out soon, although apparently it's going to be primarily focused on improving mod support. Still, it might have something relevant to this mystery.
So am I hearing things or is this an error? At 0:50 he's summarizing Stardew Valley, and then says "which has sold over 29 copies since it's release in 2016." And just like.... yeah, it better have sold well over 29 copies, lol. It's been 6 years since it's release. If you can't sell 29 individual copies, I think the game failed.
It's not weird for unused text to get translated, regardless of when in development it was written or abandoned. Translators don't do a 100% run and translate what they see. They just have a spreadsheed with a dump of all text in the game, and go mostly line by line. Nobody is wasting their time going through every item to see if it's used in the final game, just to tell the translator to skip like 1-2 lines of their spreadsheet. It's safer and less effort to just have it all translated.
Remember that Alan Wake was originally supposed to be an open world game but got turned into a level based one later on in development because they didn't have the money to finish it, so that might be content that originally _was_ supposed to be seen.

The green bean is a nod to pod people, and Invasion of the Body Snatchers, where aliens replace humans with identical copies grown in pods.
Im so happy they are continuing the Alan Wake lore. That game scared me so much as a teenager.
That would make a nice plot twist. A hunting game where you as a hunter end up being hunted by aliens.
I actually was lucky enough to have a alien capsule and owl statue spawn on my farm in Stardew Valley
Me too actually..lol..and that pink meteor thing or w.e.
I tought it happen to everyone lol
I dont think it's that rare
@@ghostoflazlo afaik they made both much more common, they used to be WAY rarer
Dang you're one lucky individual!
Has anyone tried containing the creature? For example, keeping the pod indoors, blocking the door with furniture, then sleeping the required 3 days?
The farmer being a Lamborghini is a funny reference to the fact that they used to make tractors and other farm equipment
Nope
I'm pretty sure I've heard this myth positively debunked by someone, it was always going to be Silent Hill 4
The movie you are recalling is Signs. That is actually a great reference and sounds accurate.
Don't know why but out of all of Odd's tracks, this one suits the more mysterious videos so well.
You know it's a good day when the oddheader uploads, love the easter egg content
I saw that kobayashi moru line on the wall, nice reference 0:07
2:50 yo Lil broomstick is a gamer now?? Wasn't he broke asf?
I fail to see how being broke and being a gamer are mutually exclusive options
Bro started gaming to make money, we prolly gon see his twitch channel soon
He needed some dough.
bot
maybe he did sold an NFT
I had a really fun Stardew Experience of not checking one distant corner of my farm for like two weeks and then just walking over to it at the start of a new spring to clear all the like rocks and branches and seeing an empty capsule right next to an owl statue.
Probably useless note on the Strange Capsule event in Stardew Valley but it wasn’t actually made more common more that originally the capsule was bugged, normally events of that type (that spawn objects) work where after the event triggers it scans around 100 tiles on the farm and places the object on a random clear tile
however the Strange Capsule event was bugged where it would instead require every random tile it scanned to be clear (which was typically not possible due to the game also potentially scanning water, the player’s house or other tiles that are impossible to clear) so it’s still the same chance in 1.5 but they fixed it so it works like any other item spawning event (and was probably not fixed till 1.5 due to ConcernedApe only adding more to the event in that update)
Also on the “our ancestors came from the sky” line the lore in Stardew would more likely imply thats related to the Dwarfs as they’re canonically aliens who crash landed on earth in ancient times
Hearing Odd say “Yung Cash Register” is sorta jarring when you don’t hear the “AKA Lil Broomstick” afterwards.
Thanks alot!
more likely to get a response on his discord
I've mentioned one ufo related one or two years ago and he said he'd put in the alien special video, which I was guessing he forgot or scrapped, but here's the video. The one I've mentioned isn't here tho... I guess that if it's something big and/or complex, he'll feature fast, as it's more interesting
It depends on the genre and how many others fit since he does usually 10 mysteries at once, so if you have one about a topic that's obscure it'll probably be a while. It also depends on how well documented it is that can be researched
I love UFOs and I love when devs put alien Easter eggs in games. This is just a video of all my favorite things. Thanks oddhead! You are awesome!
@Emotional Damage ok there's always room for potato wedges in my favorite things list.
Its all fun and games until they visit your house at night and take you to their spaceship.😂
I really like how in the Silent Hill universe the aliens are actually more powerful than any of the supernatural demon stuff. Like the secret ending of SH3 where they blow up the entire town from their UFOs, it's like they are going "f*ck this shit".
beans come from pods, bodysnatchers come from pods, "invasion of the pod people", it 100% makes sense.
Dude that alien ship setup you put into your video looks so well made and fun :)
Thanks Odd! This is exactly what I needed!!! Awesome video! Thanks for not having jump scares, UFO stuff always has me on edge lol.
Did anyone else read ODD HEAD at 1:42 ?😶🌫️
In the game either judgement or lost judgement there is a side quest and at the end of that side quest there is an alien ship in the background
A car-pg is something I never knew I needed
The guy who submitted the hunted unlimited 3 one, I swear I was just in a round of tf2 with someone called young cash register. Weird
The peapod = Invasion of the Bodysnarchers, an alien sci-fi with "pod people" who replace you
I played hunting unlimited 3 when I was a kid a ton and I completely forgot till now but there is 100% a UFO lodged into the ground in one of the maps. I am certain of it, I vividly remember finding it and walking around on it as a kid
always love it when you use that background music
Woah, I didn't know Control and Alan Wake were in the same universe
The toy car was modeled after "penny racers" and the pea ie pod is obviously a nod to Invasion Of The Body Snatchers with pod people clones that take over. I recommend the version with Leonard Nimoy, Jeff Goldblum, and Donald Sutherland because its has a wide cast and has a cute little alien hobo dog 😏
Doesn’t that one also have a nod you can see the protagonist from the orignal film shows up at the end yelling his famous “they’re here!” Line?
oddheader come back, we miss you
"I'VE COME FROM URANUS"
In FF8 there’s a rare encounter which is just a UFO using a tractor beam to carry away an Easter Island head
YEP here it is!
th-cam.com/video/2hOhZxYVkLI/w-d-xo.html
@@eW91dHViZSBpcyBjZW5zb3JzaGlw I didn’t realize it carried other objects too!
Just a correction, 42 isn't the meaning of life, it's just the answer the machine came up with because they asked the wrong question.
3:55
....Korone?
2:11 I love how an Oddheader is vibing by the bus stop in the left corner
3:54 The severed fingers may be something to do with using a bow?, in mideval england once a archer was captured they used to chop the 2 fingers off so they couldnt use a bow, they used to taunt enemies giving them the outward v in defiance (its a rude gesture nowadays in uk)
Invasion of the Body Snatchers for your pea reference
I haven't watched any of your videos in 2 or 3 months. I searched your name a few hours ago. Watched your latest one before this. Now this. Noice
Mysterious aliens in video games have always fascinated me
Is the End_result file supposed to be an image?
I know that you can change the extension on a file and it gets converted so maybe it’s an image that converted to a .txt file
I feel like if it was as simple as that the mystery would have been resolved three days after it was discovered, at most.
Nope, it's a 108k character long base64 code but it decodes into garbage data, so it's likely using a cipher of sorts to make it more difficult.
The Alan Wake games are in the same world as Control, so anything is possible.
Pls make a video on just mobile games... there's ways to access the files through certain apps interestingly enough some mobile game files u can access and change in the old Google games store not to be confused with the Google play store.... also I would like to see a video of u doing a deep dive into super Mario's parents. I know it's not ur style but saw someone else do dat and it was so interesting I like to watch it again but I'd rather watch u! Also in fnaf:SC there is something danTDM discovered, when u play there r different types of level security badges u can get and they open that level door. Y DO THIS COMMENT KEEP GETTING DELETED!
oh man the nostalgia those hunting unlimited 3 clips gave me. completely forgot about that game entirely
Source: Trust me
Love how i always remember this channel after months and then after a couple days a new video comes out
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
The peapod is probably a reference to Invasion of The Body Snatchers and the "pod people" from the movie.
So am I hearing things or is this an error? At 0:50 he's summarizing Stardew Valley, and then says "which has sold over 29 copies since it's release in 2016."
And just like.... yeah, it better have sold well over 29 copies, lol. It's been 6 years since it's release. If you can't sell 29 individual copies, I think the game failed.
he says 20 million
If you open subtitles, it states 20 millions
But I also heard 29 too lol
Oddheader clearly says 20 million
He says 20 million, but kind of mumbles the million part so it sounds a bit like 9
I think the Choro Q mystery is a reference to Pod people, Bean pods.
1st?
no
Yes
Seems like it
Half life 3 confirmed
actually you're the third half life game
That Choro-Q one definitely feels like it came straight from a creepypasta.
Odddddd

I pressed "Translate to English" and it added three more As.
Am I the only one that never thought in a Million Years Stardew Valley will show up in of his Videos?
10:46 That is a reference to the movie, "invasion of the body snatchers". O-O
The "ODD HEAD" in the corn while talking about the capsule was a nice touch 👌
Remember that Alan Wake was originally supposed to be an open world game but got turned into a level based one later on in development because they didn't have the money to finish it, so that might be content that originally _was_ supposed to be seen.
