Galaxy has more saturated colors, xperia has natural colors.

I unfortunately gave up on Sony many years ago but going back many years it was sony and the likes of Nokia that was the king of phones.
If Sony produces a real flagship in the future my money is waiting for it.

The Xperia proberly would of shined compared to a different phone but reviewers do what there flagships compared and it was all rock solid evidence Sony failed massively in the software prossessing department compared to other competitors. Something that us tech heads need to know before we decide to purchase such a product

@@Antsummerfield83 most of them are, I don't think alot of these reviewere even know what's makes a camera good they all speak of dynamic range and love the hdr super unnatural look. If you really look at the photos on a big screen you can count leaves and blades of grass individually on the xperia shots you can't on the s10+, as a matter of fact check flashing droid s10+ vs xperia 1 comparison and you'll see.

6:06 : can you explain missing smoke detector on Samsung’s photo? I do like Samsung, but I hate some manual manipulation with photos.
Its a different angle taken for the shot. The smoke detector is behind the light fixture. Check out the wall art below

The stabilisation on the Sony Xperia video is horrendous! And the camera is not good enough as well.
You're probably a delusional Samsung fan boy. The camera is fantastic! And poor stabilisation on the video recording? There's a setting on video recording that you can change to make the stabilisation better. But the stabilisation will get better with software updates anyway.

Cheers Saf, you're super. Was wondering if to go to Sony as I'm due an upgrade. On the S9+, but I'm not keen on the hole punch stuff so I thought Sony might be an option. You've helped me there a bit. Don't know if to go for a sim only deal for 12 months an see what Samsung bring out next. If you have any recommendations it would be much appreciated. I'm not keen on moving parts either like the One+. I've been really happy with the S9+ so it wouldn't really bother me to stick around for another year. Thanks again for your sharing ✌🏻
I have a Sony xperia xz premium. I don't know why, but every Sony smartphone always had a problem with the lighting. There's always something completely blown out in the picture. Don't know why. They never fixed it. S10 plus looks like it takes good pictls though.

Yet another delusional Samsung Galaxy fan. The S10+ isn't clearly the winner. Both cameras are great, but the Xperia 1 does have a slight edge over the S10+ here and there, especially colour saturation.

When you use touch and focus/exposure function the phone automatically change the light metering to POINT mode , when this happen the camera will ignore all the highlights and will NOT use HDR since the priority is now the point where you selected. Since you always use dark clothes the camera will increment the exposure in order to get a brighter picture.
This is not an error or a bug, this is the normal behavior on cameras and that is how works
The focus test isn't really valid, since the focus mode on video is completely different, Sony use slower speed to produce a comfortable change of focus. The phone can autofocus and auto exposure at 10 fps, and that is faster than S10 since can't change the focus at that speed.

The S10 was playing catch up LOL, hole punch was done by Huawei last year, 4 cameras, TOF sensor, reverse wireless charging etc.

A Sony Xperia 1 user here : I was expecting a more positive review from SSaif... But I'll have to give it to him... Was a very good and unbiased review... Hope Sony does improve on its software, or at least somebody is able to port Gcam for the Xperia 1.

We know these "invisible" updates.
The dynamic range issues that pop up seem to have been always a thing with Sony phones. That said, they tend to create nicer colours and better details in more optimal conditions. I watched another review and you could see in these cases that the Sony was better. It will be great when they fix up the DR :) Or perhaps the manual modes will fix some of that. I'd love to see a comparison of using the cinema flat profile and another phone in video recording.

x1 is better on professional video. it has cinelog. log profiles are better specially for post editing. it has wayy better dynamic range.. color is flat for post production. test is only auto. xperia wins in manual. everything is there :)
@@nexus-yv8ox There are not much peoples who usually use the pro mode or manual mode. Not everyone has that much knowledge about photography. So most of the peoples like auto mode. Samsung camera offers more value for auto mode. That's why Samsung Galaxy S10+ is my choice.

I just dont know about this... Having the Mate 20 Pro and the Xperia1...Well specially my Sonys wide angle shots are way sharper and superior, go ahead just use the HDR setting. My Xperia definitely takes more natural and sometimes more superior pictures than my Mate 20 Pro, so I dont buy this, sorry!

While I do believe the S10+ handles the dynamic range better, I don't believe that the differences are really as big as this video is trying to showcase. I don't know about your unit, but I think it has some problems with it, because this one shows just how close they are than this video is saying

It could be the phone's problem or the user's problem, and I'm leaning towards the latter, since the other reviewers are also saying that the Xperia 1 is on par, and in some cases even beats the Galaxy S10+ in pure camera quality.
And I'm not saying this for promotion or payment, rather I'm just against biased comparisons, which is why I'm heavily questioning this video, as it is quite a sway from pretty much most of the other similar comparisons.
I don't want to assume that you've intentionally made the Xperia 1 photos to look bad to make the Galaxy S10+ superior, but I'm afraid that it might be true.

How long does live Samsung? I had some samsung phones before and my friends to, but almost every samsung does not live more than two years, but every sony i had, they all are still usable even after 7 years. Now i am using sony xz3. Yes, camera is not so good, but overall hardware is very reliable.

Good video, thanks for the great job, nicely done, I pressed like! Buut, to be fair, Sony's auto mode always sucked, it can grab a descent to great picture during good conditions (if you're lucky), but nothing more. If you're a person who likes to just take out phone and snap a descent picture, other phones fill do better for you, than Sony. But if you like to take your time and tinker with settings, that's where Xperia really shine and can do an outstanding job. I was able to take better picture with my good old Z3, than my friends with iPhone 7 and 8, and far better than Samsung ( in manual mode). We did a blind comparison on our friends, Z3 won. I'm pretty sure new Xperia's can do even better job. IMO it's always been about manual.
It's not a fan boy's opinion, though I own XZ2 Prem now, it has it's own flaws for sure, nothing's perfect, you just have to choose and deal with it :) But from many phones I've tried over the years, thankfully I have access to majority of them, I always preferred Sony for some reason.

Ofc it must be heavily processed to get better dynamic range and detail on the shadow, xperia is blown up the highlight and so dark on the shafow. That is fact. Worst dynamic range on xperia.
