Reminds me of a Coca-Cola glass
yay thanks!
that transparent teal filament looks absolutely beautiful....
99.1% pure
@@guillermo7168took from different comment
Translucent
@@carlrygwelski586 i'm pretty sure it's transparent- you can see what's on the other side of it. but still it's amazing
@@opalpersonal transparency is when the other side is clearly visible, translucent is when light can pass through but not a clear image.
It is amazing though, I can imagine making some really cool game pieces etc with tech like this!
That print is 99.1% pure
Great reverence😂

i like that this embraces what everyone in 3D printing is trying to avoid .
Yeah, The step pattern is pretty fun for certain prints.
Sand it down
@@dumbirdyreee your hands will die because of so much sanding
@@dumbirdyreeefirst fill it in, then sand that down- much easier
@@dumbirdyreee Or just accept that 3D printing is cool and layer line is the new fashion.
Reminds me of toothpaste. I love the clear green layers.
Mmm…forbidden toothpaste…
@@stevesmintymmhm... Perfectly clear ✨
Crunchy toothpaste
I think it looks good, but I'm very surprised it takes so long to print. It's probably not much faster than printing in regular/good quality with a stock Ender 3. I think this clear, very thick filament looks good though, because the thinner the layers, the flatter the layers and the more needed for depth... so the clear filament wouldn't appear to be clear anymore (or in printed in "vase mode", the finished part would have very thin, very weak walls and still wouldn't be as clear).
9/10 dentists agree with this comment
"why a big nozzle?" why, cause its a *vibe*
Exactly!
The small one definitely has a good personality
@@-TelaxyTensei-i wouldn’t even call it small.. just a healthy average, give or take.
@@JJShankleswhere can you get 2mm nozzles?
I love thick layers looks good in my opinion and just has a very unique look
Agreed, a lot of the time it’s better to lean into the aesthetic of 3D printed plastic than to try and hide it and pretend it’s something else
It looks quite glassy, which is appropriate for a vase
@@AnvilAlex Yeah i like this look too, but if you want to print something fast like this but also get a somewhat smooth finish you can still just brush clear epoxy on it in layers and then sand it down to a smooth finish. If you sell something you’ve designed you’re still gonna want to sand it down smooth anyway so i feel like overall it’ll still be faster to print with thicker layers and do the epoxy method (unless you need very precise tolerances)
Depends what you want to print. If you want something functional this is absolutely useless, however something decorative looks good this way, even though I strongly dislike 3D printed "sculptures", this one is actually cool
Honestly, this is an art choice I’d choose to freshen up decorations at home
it looks fresh and minty too
That's a 9 min print with 0.4 mm nozzle. 😎
And a 2 min with 0.8
@@madzak9847 Unless you're not fully melting and just laying down filament where only the outer surface is melted enough to stick, where the unmelted core needs a big hole to fit thru, flow does not increase with nozzle size above 0.5 or maybe 0.6 mm. You can push all the flow we know how to achieve (up to several hundred mm³/s with sufficient melt rate) thru a hole that size.
FWIW I did 2m39s with 0.4 (0.6 line width as recommended) but even with extreme cooling the quality was lacking. Might work with material less sensitive to cooling performance.
PLA doesn't seem coolable faster than 4m12s. At that time I'm getting a flawless vase mode print. Other materials may fare better.
It's incredible how ingrained into the 3D printing community layer height, nozzle size and print speeds are, yet they're kinda irrelevant.
1st time I started to hear about flow rate instead was with the craziest speed benchy guys.
It looks like delicate early 20th century glassware. It's super pretty!
was gonna comment it reminded me of a certain depression glass pattern
It's also giving me 80's office building chic 😂
This is gorgeous ! I love the esthetics, which works so well for a vase print.
Otherwise, the seam wouldn't particularly discreet 😆
Sanding and painting!
@@danalynch118 probably not with thick translucent layers tho.
@@supercurioTube maybe sanding but painting probably would
looks better than normal 3d printing imo.
Yes, it's a cool novelty for vase mode, but clogs will probably be hell on earth to get out.
Jessie we need to slice
It's got a very 70s decor vibe to it!
In this case it actually gives it quite a nice effect.
Reminding me of Teletubby custard bowls or whatever those were called.
the tubby custard incident
That was the first thing I thought when I saw it lol
I was not expecting to see a reference to Vinny's Tubby Custard Incident here.
Tubby custard 🤤🤤🤤
All fun and games until you have to wash day old chocolate milk out 😂
Id be so scared to use it as a cup, even water. What if the water got stuck in the crevices and didnt dry fast enough and now theres mold and mildew? Gross!
@@Thebatcavepetfriendlybakery If your water is getting moldy you have other problems
@gratefulguy4130 it's not just water it's just some of us live in the PNW and eat bread from the grocery store.. there's mold spores literally everywhere unless you keep sh!t really dry. Drinking water itself could be clean, but microscopic mold in the air lands ANYWHERE moist.
Finally I can get my participation trophy without participating. 🏆
To be honest the trophy looks cool with those lines! And a nice choice of colour too!
I could watch this forever, PLEASE make a time-lapse or even real time compilation of various prints! But no obnoxious music ♡
Fat layers with translucent filament looks awesome on vase mode, can refract the light really cool
This would work great as scaffolding for sculptures in papier maché and similar stuff!
This! If you sculpt with a 3D printing pen, this is a fast way to get an armature for your sculpture that's made of the same stuff. Or even use a woodburning pen to smooth down parts of it. Lots of possibilities!
it's very satisfying to watch!
That's a big nozzle! That's an interesting way of printing, and looks pretty good for aesthetics.
how does the print raise helically instead of having distinct layers?
It's called vase mode
Well-chosen music. Love Lupus Nocte!
Looks epic, using transparent filaments seems to work really well
I want this kind of printing. Especially for plants' pots. I have PETG of this color now. What is the nozzle? Can you drink vodka out of this "trophy"? Where to buy this nozzle?
I love that someone mentioned "vodka" then BOOM, Russian comment appears
@@DJJuxtapose triggered
@@andreyansimov5442 nah man, just seeing the light side of things. :) no harm intended!
@@DJJuxtapose I used the word in direct meaning, just how trigger works 😊 . I needed to use bait instead, maybe.
Reminds me of being a kid looking into the edge of a glass table
Imagine how fast that would be on a Bambu 😮
Probably equally fast as that V0
The bigger the diameter, the slower it needs to go for filament to melt evenly in the hotend. Flowrate goes gradually higher as nozzle size and speed increases, making printing with big nozzles possible mostly at slow speeds
@@eski5195 didn’t think about that, good point
I really like the design it's beautiful
i love the color but also personally love the details given by the nozzle with the thicker layers
Yessss! Now that's epic
Thanks!
Honestly, that looks really cool and if you just need a really rough shape, this seems like a great way to do it.
wasn’t aware that this is possible. absolutely amazing
Is there a smaller diameter in the nozzle, just to heat up the filament? If so which diameter and how long?
I feel like the spins and therefore big rings it generates is also a design choice. I kinda like it
it looks so pretty
Remember seeing the comment a few videos ago when I come at the down audit or something congrats dude on your success on TH-cam and also one of the best 3-D printing TH-camr ever
I actually love the way that looks so much more than the thinner ones for big pieces
Love this color
Awesome look on the trophy.
Looks so cool
Honestly, for certain things, thick layers work a LOT better, like design wise, like it looks far better than a ton of tiny layers
It’s also pretty! Feels very mermaid 🧜🏻♀️ in that color.
Such a unique and fascinating visual texture. Cool stuff mate
You chose the best filament for this
This looks cool in my opinion and even if you don't like the look it can still be used for quick prototyping before making the final product.
I think that looks pretty cool.
You made it a fashionable style, honestly !
I love that texture!!!
Bro this looks like good 👍
Looks beautiful ❤
More importantly (for some applications), those thick layers are much more robust. They'll deal with impacts and other battle damage far better than parts with thinner layers, even if your raise your wall thickness.
Looks so beautiful!
Do you have a guide on how to do this? Is it on patreon or something?
Oh this could be really good for like making the base of a sculpture
the thicc lines can be used to create some really cool looking prints, like maybe a corduroy teddy bear
The detail is the fat nozzle. It gives it a really cool look.
Thickness also helps the layers adhere. The thicker layers have more mass, so more heat, so they'll be warmer when the next layer lands on top, which also has more heat compared to a thinner filament. Plus the increased printing speed reduces the amount of time between layers, which further decreases the amount of heat lost.
That is beautiful stuff right there.
This looks more like a cyberpunk pottery piece than a 3d printed part
"so is it faster?"
"well yes but actually no"
it IS a design choice, i can even see it being desirable
Looks great for prototyping certain things too
It looks amazing! Plus if you dont like the bumpy texture cant you just sand it down?
Honestly this could still be used for large detailed prints, just dip it in some uv resin, sand it down, and detail as needed.
this actually looks cool!
I think the thickness of it and the design it makes looks super cool I’d buy a set of glass cups that look like that
i actually think this looks way better than a more normal sized nozzle. trying to hide the layers, which you cant do, makes it uglier tha. embracing them.
I love when it says this is "Original Sound" and it clearly isn't. The music, that is.
This is Powerhouse 1984 by Lupus Nocte
THANK YOUU 😭😭
Perfect for fast prototyping
I think the final product is very nice i like the curvy shape it makes that is pretty cool.
I love this color and would like to see more things printed with it! Like maybe a house that looks like it was made with link n logs would look like it was made of glass instead
Actually I would want something like this because vase mode is the most awesome thing about 3D printing.
PLUS if you printed it in the right material, with an acetone/alchalol steam shower, you can finish the surface manually, and STILL likely come out ahead timewise when compared to a much finer nozzle diameters added print time.

Looks like gems 💎 ✨️
Honestly I love the look of that
It looks so pretty and like a gummy!
This reminds me of the RND lab printer at my father's work over a decade ago... THICK print lines. :)
I think this is nice to replicate miniature glass pieces.
It looks like the 1940s antique glass you see in antique shops
I think this is beautiful
The Colour of the cup🔥🔥🔥
The layers stick together stronger, too.
That color looks beautiful in 3d printing. I don’t know why 😮😮❤😮❤😮
The filament looks yummy
THIS IS WHY MY FAVOURITE COLOR IS TURQOISE
I love this look
Seems like it's great for infill
The production budget doesnt really matter since alot of people listen to your videos as podcasts rather than watching whats on the screen. We all appreciate your decision to change the plan since alot of people would miss your amazing content.
it also looks really cool
It's satisfying to watch
And you can add the detail with some filler and sanding
The toothpaste chalice! 😅🤣👌🏻 very cool!
Well that was just fun to watch. How cool.
Its stronger as well, better layer adhesion
You could do it faster with a regular nozzle and a *ahem* slightly *ahem* slightly modified 3D printer.
Cookiecad Funfetti looks amazing with large nozzles. I'd love to see you print it, reach out if you'd like a spool!
