Thanks, Carly for sending Jebbrey's Jibberish your product to review. If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't have found out about the Xtool A30M. Popping one in the Christmas stocking!
My a30m has a different page in the engine live data stream. It allows combine in graph and a couple other choices. What i dont like about it is it only shows one graph unless you combine them o. One graph. I would like to see at least 4 seperate graphs on one page.
the 30m is a life saver its a awsome device...its very close to the vw rosstech scanning tool that i also have ..... i think its the best bang for buck scanner on the market before you head into sub $800 scanners
Great review. I have a Discovery 4 and use the GAP Diagnostics tool at about $800 which looks very similar in functionality to the A30M. My mate with a new Defender has been looking for a cheaper tool but the cheap ones just won't communicate with a Land Rover beyond the generic engine and transmission fault codes, they cant see the other 30 plus systems in the car. I just emailed XTool to ask about Land Rover compatibility. Anyway I really appreciate this review. Oh and I will add that my $800 tool is not campatible with his Defender it also cannot see all the systems as the Defender is way more complex than the Disco. GAP has developed software for the Defender but also over $800.
Finally an honest “Carly” review (junk). I also have the Xtool the one that programs keys and remotes. Does the A30m program keys and remotes also? I appreciate your videos 👍
@@JebbreysJibberish Xtool D7 and up will do at least some key programming. D7 also a good value at 239USD, basically A30M functionality ++ on it's own tablet.
The xtool only allows you to view the screen in landscape mode I hope they update the app in the future to allow you to view in portrait as well, cause if your wearing polarized sunglass the screen is black in landscape mode on most phones and tablets
Thanks Geoff. NB Not sure if you’re a J or G. My middle name is with a G so I went with that. That was a really helpful review mate. I appreciate these reviews that help fill many of the holes I have in my car knowledge. Would like more Emu hacks too, if you had time.
Absolutely brilliant JJ. Thank you sir. Since you have one, and a big favour, can you see if it supports a Holden Monterey (Jackaroo) U8 MY02 with the 4jx1?
I can’t tell if it supports the diesel because it won’t let me in there due to it not being the right car but it does have early 2000 Holden Jackaroos on the list of manual selection.
$69 cheap one i mean i have one of the cheap elm327 clone or whatever that was like sub $10 but it mostly just does like check engine lights so just engine and trans stuff really
My Xtool a30m will scan my entire Chevy Cruze GDI turbo in like 3 minutes. Things I don't like about it is you cant take snapshots and you cant download your recorded data onto your desktop computer to save and file it for later viewing. Everything you record stays in the app.The other thing I hate and its not Xtool's fault is that you cant read the screen on most tablets and phones while wearing polarized sunglasses when they are in landscape ' and landscape is the only way xtool will show the data
I chose an A30M after watching your video. Thanks for spreading the word. I bought it from Amazon here in Texas for $170 US.
Update: I found it on AliExpress for $95 USD during their last Sale. I was able to return the Amazon one for a full refund.

Pretty sure I’ve done a 2012 Land Rover with the a30m.
Good to know so it might be worth trying
@michaeldallimore8590 yeah I reckon it’s worth trying. Can always sell it off if it doesn’t work but I reckon you’d be in for a good chance.

I don’t think the a30m does keys and remotes, what do you use does that? That would be super cool to have.

@@maptap6654What brand does x7 not program?
Bought the a30m, $160, coming tomorrow

Yeah I find the frustrating when viewing live data as my phone hone holder only does portrait.
Thanks. What is the brand and model of the device you disassembled in 02:58 minutes?
I had to unplug my ultraguage which is normally plugged into the OBD2 port.
Hi, xtool A30m is good device, but with it don't have possibility of sevral graph separate on one page and no .csv recording...
I am thinking to buy this one but on your mobile i read SAS function that I didnt see after the scanned vehicle, am I wrong ?

Thank you, yes I’m working on an electrical upgrade/modification on the Emu as we speak.

Carly sounds like an expensive girlfriend that will only give you the full version with more $$.

How do you like your scan gauge 3 I've been looking at them but they are expensive
I’ve got the ultraguage and it’s been great. I haven’t had any experience with the scan gauge 3’s yet.
Does this do forced DPF regeneration?
Hmm not sure about that because I’ve got a pre DPF. I’m actually reviewing a different one atm that might as it appears to be based on Techstream.
Thanks

Can you recommend a budget tool what can be used beside bidirectional tests also for ECU coding?
Get a Thinkdiag dongle, Its same size with the xtool and ECU coding is very cool with it
Wow! Let’s test it on a Range Rover and see if it can talk British
