Hall effect!!!! The controller King strikes again!!
I’m. Going to wait for the wired version for 100 bucks
Just grabbed mine
100%
I think a lot of people are just going to buy the wired version because they didn’t differentiate the products enough. They should have allowed people to take off the back buttons on the 200 version. Big miss there
I wish they kept the V2 design with no back paddles for the standard model and the paddles on the pro/tournament model. People like myself can't hold a controller without having their grip rest on them and basically pressing them all the time.
I got this a few days ago. Absolute game changer if you play claw. Prob the best I’ve put in my hand ergonomically as a claw player for competitive PvP shooter games. They did just yesterday put out a firmware update which addresses the issue of not being able to set deadzone to 0 accurately. I never liked the lag and sloppiness on the Elite 2, this is the fastest responding wireless controller to date and actually faster than some wired controllers. Time will tell, but right now I don’t want to put it down. Worth the money? Maybe … or get the wired version of this or wait for a sale.
Agreed, it's very comfortable for a claw grip, even if you're someone like me who doesn't usually play like that.
@@KID_CHAMELEONcannot update the firmware on Xbox. Need to use a PC
@@cam-andgetit7314 well ain't that some shit.
How is the lag? I'm sitting about 17' from my setup in living room and competitive is killing me
@@michaelpelletier7987 I have no lag
A wired version is coming out later for $99. Its listed on best buy for preorder
Awesome controller from the best channel on controller unboxing and testing also I am surprised that the controller doesn’t have lots of RBG colors
I'm so glad it doesn't!
Razer stuff is popular here in Japan but takes forever for a release here... I'll be looking for this eventually though!
If only companies would stop with the hard built in paddles... Do what Xbox does and make them buttons with paddles attached so you can remove them and avoid pressing them. I just want a controller with all the mechanical features and those extra claw buttons but without stupid paddles. I grip my controllers, so I'm literally holding onto those area's all the time so it's annoying.
I understand that you need to use the Razer app to program / map the controller buttons. However, do you need to keep the app running once you have mapped them or do the mappings save to the controller?
You can close the app and it stays on your last saved map
"I don't know anybody that plays claw style"
WHAT?!?!!!! Bumper Jumper since Halo 2, committed for life! Can't imagine playing any other way.
I've never even seen a person play "claw style". I hadn't even heard of it till this controller. 🤷🏼♂️
@@RedBandanaGamingLooks like you've not seen Warzone pros in action. 😅
But seriously, this controller makes playing a claw grip super easy, even if you're not normally accustomed to it.
Im definitely getting it when it comes to my country. It has all the things I really wanted ngl.
Just bought mine and i play call of duty ranked and let me say its an awesome controller!!
I've been playing Exoprimal with it and there is a big difference. Next I'll be playing Space Marine 2 with it. I just downloaded it. 👍🏻
My buddy has this controller and let me feel test it. It feels alright, but I'm really hoping that Nacon Revolution x Unlimited strikes hard because I like the back buttons more. (although I can't confirm its comfortability yet because I've never used a Nacon controller before but I do have the Revolution 5 Pro on the way to feel test that one since its pretty much the same).
I've got the Nacon R5P and it's a solid controller for the price.
I'm sure the Xbox version will be great, and much better than the Stealth Ultra, as they look very similar but have drastically different levels of quality.
@@StardustLegacyFighter hey thanks for the reply bro, how long have you had the R5P? I've been diving into reddit and im getting a little worried. Do you use it on PC?
@JoshTheHraefn5656 It's been just over a month, and I was mainly using it on my PS4 at first, but since then, I have also started using it on my PC.
I've had no issues with it so far, and I've used it for many different genre of games, although I mainly prefer it for RPGs, racing, and fighting games.
For FPS, I'm still KBM, although may switch to the Vader 4 Pro.
@StardustLegacyFighter alright that's good to know. I'm strictly a controller guy, Haha. I mainly play pve games (shooters as well like dark tide or something) but I guess if I play my competitive games I could always switch to my dualsense edge. But I've just become more of a comfortability and features guy more than performance and the new nacon controller coming out peaked my interest so I wanted to get used to the feel of a similar controller which would be the R5P. But I was on a reddit thread and a lot of people say higher is better but it's so little of a difference it's almost placebo, so 250hz should be fine.
Sending mine back, if it had tensioners on the sticks and if the stick drift wasnt so bad as setting 1 is awful for FPS games, very disappointed
how can it have stick drift with hall-effect sticks?
@@jvnonu54njl There is now a firmware update for the stick drift, so you can set it on level 0, still has slight drift but helps a lot then you can adjust in game. Mine gets collected tomorrow and I have ordered the Flydigi Vader 4 pro
@@shaundasheepmurphy1589Fair enough. I can't get that controller in the UK. I purchased the Gamesir g7 HE but that has stick drift and feels cheap, so I'll be getting the Razor Wolverine V3 Tournament Ed when it's out probably
@@jvnonu54njl I am in the UK and have ordered it?
@@shaundasheepmurphy1589 Oh, where from?
Is the flydigi Vader 4 still more preferred?
For pc only yes
Im still rocking my Elite Series 2 Pro Controller i got a few years ago for my Series X. I now exclusively use it for my PC. Im also rocking a Blackwidow V3 Mini keyboard and a Naga Pro V2 mouse from Razer and love them. Personally have not had any problems with Razer. This may be my next controller when they release the Chroma version with more RGB. I still need to get the Dualsense Edge controller for my PS5 and those PC games that fully support Dualsense functionality.
I forgot to mention this in my original comment but this doesn't have Bluetooth at all? That sucks for people like me who try to cut back on usb dongles hanging out of your PC.
@@Afroman_GamingDongles are more reliable and have far less latency than standard Bluetooth.
@@StardustLegacyFighter oh I'm aware. Even their mice and keyboards have bluetooth. For them to not at least have the option is confusing. Once your cat drops your Series X on the floor and trashes your dongle, then you have to wait to pay for another one because a replacement is out of stock then you realize dongles aren't always the answer. True story with my turtle beach headset. 😂
@@StardustLegacyFighter Not always. Dualshock 4 and Dualsense with bluetooth connection are faster than any dongle on the market, including recent hype 1000hz controllers and not affected by heavy wi-fi interference or other wireless devices nearby.
@@J0rdan912Sony seems to be using very advanced and specialised Bluetooth technology, definitely not the same standard tech that other companies, including Microsoft, are using.
its a great controller, bought it 2 weeks ago. Would be an epic controller if you could remove the back paddles, and apex of the handles a littler longer. I'ts non magnetic thumb sticks pissed me off at first but stick rattles less moving , but inconvenient to swap. Always a trade off. The few things i don't like are made up for.
I think they removed the magnetic thumsticks, but the hall effect modules are susceptible to magnetic interference.
I don't think I've come across a single controller, using hall effect joysticks, that has magnetic thumbsticks.
TMR shouldn't have this issue.
How do you do software updates for the controller or will it do it on its own?
Just did a firmware update. Plug it in via its USB cable to a PC and follow the easy directions. Didn’t seem to be able to update firmware via XBOX. Maybe they will change that at some point.
@@AHappyZeebra ok sweet you know what they fixed?
@@RealMadrid_BarcaFan there was an initial issue when in the Razer software setting deadline to 0 and it wouldn’t do it accurately. So yesterday they put a fix out for it.
@AHappyZeebra Doesn't it still drift at deadzone 0 though?
@@StardustLegacyFighteryes it will no controller will be perfect at 0/0. Although it was very minimal for my controller
hm... i wish it came with a tall convex stick. it's much smoother for fps games, especially on the right stick.
I think KF could sort you out there.
Can anyone explain what the difference between standard and circular circularity modes are and which is better for FPS games? I'm coming from a Scuf Instinct Pro and would like to match that if possible.
So far, its a good controller it's just a shame that it's so damn expensive. My chroma v2 was on sale for $130 and this is $270.
You'd think you'd get a few more stick options and at least a charging base for it included in the case.
There's controllers that have the same features and more for less than half the money bigbigwon rainbow 2 comes to mind.
But those trigger locks that actually make it a mouse click is totally clutch so really you have to compare it to a scuf instinct and for the money the razer comes out on top no contest.
$270? It's $200...... I got mine last week on Amazon 1 day prime shipping.
Wired is only $100 and has exact same everything except it's wired...
You might wanna look into Vader 4. It's the same like this controller, it has mouseclick everything except for the back buttons. triggers can switch from mouseclick to full long pull. Hall effects as well. Also has tension adjustment
It looks great but I already have the elite 2 which does all all that. Down the road when I get stuck drift when out of warranty.
are the thumbsticks of walverine v3 compatible with original xbox elite thumbsticks?
Does anyone have this weird issue, where if you try to charge the controller using your PC (when the controller is off), the charging light flashes yellow for a few seconds and then turns off?
I mean, my controller does get fully charged, but I have no way of knowing when because the LED light stays off.
what are your recommendation (pick only 1) among these : razer wolverine v3 pro, razer wolverine v2 pro, xbox wireless controller and xbox elite wireless controller series 2 ? (for competitive gameplay).
Considering the Razers have hall-effect sticks, it's a no-brainer. V3 wired coming out soon for £100/$100
I’m sticking with Gamesir
@@kenzilbaptiste2519 while that is true, gamesir holds up pretty damn well. The T4K is the most comfortable controller I have ever held. I do wish it had trigger stops though.
@@JoshTheHraefn5656 Stay tuned for upcoming G7 Pro, it should have trigger stops and more extra buttons
Gamesir? Man flyDigi is the wave now. Apex and Vader. Gamesir feels tooooo fucking cheap!! I have my t4k. Once I touched other controllers, going back to t4k feels like a controller I would give a toddler I am not even joking. The buttons feels sooooo bad. But you won't know untill you compare to something else. Even the regular Xbox buttons feels better than the gamesir buttons. Sometimes things are all relative. You won't know how bad or how good something is until you compare it too something else. Gamesir= durable, yes. But comfortable? Absolutely not. Cheap? Yes.
@@ChaoticMuchX T4K is a really old and cheap controller. Their G7 and some mobile controllers are great, recent Cyclone and Nova are just fine for it's price.
@@J0rdan912If it has all that and TMR joysticks, then it would be meta.
the fact you cant remap L3 R3, triggers, bumpers or face buttons is insane. Only buttons that are reprogramable are the back buttons and claw bumpers
thats a microsoft restriction
@gingersnapz5817 nope cause you can do it with tons of other xbox controllers including Microsofts elite controllers and even the $40 gamesir controllers, Razer is the only pro controller I know of that you can't do this with
It's a stupid eSports restriction, which is honestly why it would be so much better if Razer didn't bother making "tournament" controllers.
Can anyone please tell me if the charging indicator pulses persistently when you plug it into Xbox? My first one flashed orange 5 or 6 times then went off. Razer said faulty. However got a replacement and is exactly the same.
does anyone know if this controller will be coming to ps5?
Between this and the beitong zeus 2 which would you say is better?
Beitong Zeus 2 offers far better value, but may not work as well on Xbox.
So for $131 I should absolutely buy this right??? It would be my first new controller since my Series 2 I bought a while ago and has some stick drift.
Is that the wired version?
I love this controller but I'm so inlucky I got two units with a crooked right stick and straight gave up after. Sticking with DSE till they fix the stick issue.
That sucks, I got mine from Amazon immediately after it launched in the UK, and I've had no issues so far.
Man I'm so jelly. I might just run up to the local Razer store and try a third time. It felt so amazing to use.
@@xxchanhonamxx If you've got a physical store nearby then damn well make sure they sell you a unit with perfectly aligned thumbsticks, otherwise you'll buy something else.
wait what game are you playing lol that game looks like a blast
Gundam
is kontrol freeks compatible
Great review what game is that
Exoprimal
Controller come with the vibration motors??
Yep, it has rumble, which can be adjusted.
Whats the best way to tell controller is charging? When I plug it in the light on it is yellow for a little than it goes away. So I'm left to assume it's still charging?
what game is this
Exoprimal
This is the best controller in the game rn!
One of the best for sure!
I'm thinking between wolverine v3 pro and flydigi apex4... What is your thoughts?
Well it depends. For Xbox, Apex won't work. If you're just playing on PC, I'd go with the Apex 4, it is less expensive.
@RedBandanaGaming Well......, technically , it does work on xbox via an adapter.
I have been using it for a few months, including the gyro functionality.
@@tcrviperwhat polling rate do you get though? If it's Bluetooth it's not going to be great?
None, APEX 4 has fundamental flaw in thumbsticks and Razer is $200 for an average pro controller.
@@AlooGobi123 I actually use it wired which is my preferred use. I also have a Gamesir G7 Se which has a 1000hrtz polling and get the same response with the apex 4.
By tweaking the apex 4 stick curve i'm getting even more of a quicker response in FPS games.
I’m debating on either getting this or the SCUF Envision Pro and I don’t know what to get.
For me:
Razer Pros- Hall effect joysticks, better button placements beside the triggers
Cons: Can’t map the buttons to any keyboard button, and the capture button isn’t detected in Steam input
SCUF Pros- 5 extra buttons, map any button on the controller to any keyboard button
Cons: No Hall effect joysticks
@@kenzilbaptiste2519 You mean can’t I’m assuming? And I forgot to add the keyboard button mapping for the Wolverine cons
I have both and I can assure you razer is superior ergonomically and faster response time.
@@Erikbram Idk I really want to map those extra buttons to keyboards buttons which you can’t on the Wolverine
@@Erikbramactually, my PS5 still has a faster response time than my V3 pro. I love the V3. I am just bummed that I'm so used to the PS5 fast response time. So once I switched to the V3, it felt delayed to me. Maybe it's a big upgrade from Xbox controller (slowest response time), but it's hard coming from dual sense to use this. Shame 😢. Even with tournament mode on its not as fast as my dual sense input delay
Can you do a giveaway?
From personal experience - Razer devices never worth it's price. Always lacks in performance, cheap and prone to broke build, always overprice AF.
Agreed 👍🏻
Naw razer mice are the best
@@chronicmayhem Not the best, but solid. And it's like $100+ and works for like 6-12 months until it's broken. Razers mice are not special.
Always agree. Not here though. This controller is far superior to the scuf and the elite pro. It’s not in everyone’s price range but If it’s in your it’s worth it
I've never bought Razer products before because of those exact reasons, but I'm thoroughly impressed with this controller so far.
It's absolutely not the best value controller on the market, as for me, that's still the Vader 4 Pro.
However, this controller feels very premium, ergonomic, and responsive.
I do have other solid controllers, but ever since getting this one, I haven't been able to put it down, and I also sent my Victrix Pro BFG back.
