I did not need the family size air fryer and purchased the 3.4 quart which does not contain the copper basket and was still impressed with the great results.

We bought an air-fryer recently. I like it and it works well so far, but the thing I notice most is that contrary to the pre-sets on the machine, there really is no pre-set for most things. Everything is different depending on how much of it you have, how you cook it, its initial temperature, the geometry of whatever you are cooking ... i.e. the shape or thickness. It is hard to judge at what temperature and how long you need to cook something, and it is a bother to check if it is done. So, for example, frozen french fries have never tasted so good. BUT, it's hard to know when they are done, and hard to check. The batches are pretty small as well. I am hoping this will get easier as I get more experience. Also .. I am looking for a recipe for tempura ... could the same recipe be used here to coat veggies and fry them? Really looking forward to using this a lot.

I mainly use the Fries setting of 400 F. I just check every 2 to 5 minutes, depending of what I'm cooking. When it's almost done, I reduce the time to 1 minute so it doesn't overcook if I forget it.
Say you are trying this to fry chicken, and since chicken takes more time to fry than fish ... does that mean the outside batter will be burned, and how to allow for different cooking times for different foods?

Hi Paul! Yes, you can swap the frozen french fries for fresh fries. Please see the cooking instructions for fresh fries below: Toss potato wedges in olive oil and seasonings if desired; place wedges on tray - place in unit. Select Air Fry - 400 Degrees for 18 Minutes. When the unit is fully pre-heated, put the potatoes into the unit. Flip potatoes half way through cycle for even crispiness. Once the time has reached 0 - your potato wedges are complete!
You have to take into consideration that these commercials are cut and edited. Otherwise we would have to sit here for 10 or 20 minutes and wait for it to get done. The finished batch may have been a completely different batch than the one you were watching him put in... or shake... This thing works great... I have one and love it!

How come the fries and fish are in different positions from when you put it in vs the final removal? You didn't flip the fish at all...
Hi Mr. Allan, as you check the video once again, the fries and fish change the position since it was shaken.
Any suggestions on defrosted haddock
The water seemed to make it difficult to adhere the ingredients to the fish.
Seems like alot stuck to my fingers.

Is the recipe from a cookbook that comes with airfryer?
Would center cut pork chops work with that recipe.

anyone notice that the fries and fish were on opposite sides of the basket when it was done ?
At 3:15 he stated he likes to take the basket out and flip the fish to make sure it's crispy on both sides.
Yes...what was that about ? !!!
It's a thing called "editing".
Was not a good look. Fake video. That could have been deep fried and planted
