one detail I really like is when Lotso was making his rant about toys are meant to be thrown away, you see everyone on top looking at each other thinking "we were working for this guy and he all sees us expendables?" you can tell they all messed up realizing how Lotso doesn't care about anyone but himself even the purple octopus backed away realizing how much she messed up too. You see the other toys who worked for Lotso are now siding with Ken during the credits animation as they all now know the better way to run the daycare with Ken as their new leader
Lotso's downfall reflects how dictators and their regimes end throughout history. Lotso's arrogant rage turns everyone against him, even Big Baby. 1:10:43 Initially, I had the same thought that the alien playing Juliet in Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet” play was used for laughs, but it was deeper than that. The play is relevant to the movie's central themes - i.e. love, friendship, and moving forward. The LGMs and Juliet have A LOT of similarities in terms of personality, the messages that they carry, their bittersweet endings, and their impact on the plot. They were innocent, obedient (they swore allegiance to their parents), and naïve when they were first introduced to the plot, they had a simpler, yet better perspective* than anyone of the cast (i.e. they did not let the past cloud their judgement on the world), and they wanted to ensure that their families were brought together in harmony. It was thanks to the LGMs’ docility that they and Mr. Pricklepants became such good friends. *I wanted to clarify this statement about the LGMs (as a whole) having a great sense of perception. Now, yes, they do start off as very oblivious when they were first introduced or when they were fresh out of the rocket crane machine (in their view, that is their “incubator”). It is easy to dismiss them as these dimwitted, goofy characters who stumble into their adventures. But, like any toy, their personalities eventually form based on their life experiences. (In the pizza truck LGMs’ case, it’s their time being around in busy cities and roads, Woody and co., Andy’s room, Sunnyside, and Bonnie's room.) And even before they were brought out, the LGMs’ cultural values had been established. They valued faith, knowledge, destiny, family, unity, peace, happiness, and acceptance before the cast came to realize this on their own. They speak in unison and are “one” with the universe. They have incredible optimism because they still had friends in the cluster for support even when they weren't chosen by the claw, to which they literally “look up” to (they had nowhere else to go otherwise). When they saw Buzz Lightyear inside the machine, they did not let their differences of appearance get the better of them like Woody. In fact, they unquestioningly welcome any stranger with open arms. They had a desire to know what it was like in the outside world and what it had to offer for them. Whatever it was, they were ready to accept and adapt. The LGMs in TS2 had a wider scope of how humanity works because of their time spent in the city inside the truck - The environment they dealt with in their early life was busy and chaotic unlike any other toy we've seen. The pizza planet employee and hundreds of them like him needed to go from Point A to Point B. This was how they were able to quickly troubleshoot the truck when it would not move. (While Buzz Lightyear knew how a vehicle works in TS1 and TS2, he was blocked by the pizza boxes to see up close how the vehicle was shifted into gear in TS1. The aliens had the upper hand since they were up close with the human and that they are natural wizards of machinery.) Despite spending their time riding and waiting for life to come to them, they remained cheerful even before Mr. Potato Head was introduced into their lives. The reasons for this were (1) they had each other and (2) anything the claw “decided” was law and they had to "ride with it". (It makes them the most passive out of the entire cast because of this.) They never grew bitter or jaded over their times of not being the favorite (like Woody), rejected or abandoned (like Jessie in TS2), or even the thought of being thrown away because of their faith and resilience (both in material and personality-wise). They had no prejudice against humans, and therefore, they had a “clearer”, unbiased view of how they see the world. For a while, they thought the claw was this omnipotent, all-knowing, sentient being. They thought that things would work itself out by their belief alone. However, after years(?) of being stuck inside a decrepit, smelly pizza truck, their short time in Sunnyside Daycare, and the garbage dump in TS3, they found that that was not the case. Mr. Potato Head's act of heroism has shown them that their fate was not "definite". They also witnessed in TS3 that no leader was perfect (i.e. Woody's struggle with letting go of Andy, Jessie's struggle with letting go of Emily and the idea of leaving Andy prematurely, etc.) Their family was in trouble and no authority figure or deity would come to their rescue. They realized that they control their own destiny (this was how they came to control the crane). They always believed in “chances” since they DID come from a crane machine, and that all children should be “given a chance” to decide what they want to do with their toys when they first get them and after they have outgrown them, defying Lotso's nihilistic beliefs as the result. They still held on to the belief in the claw via children - only, it was altered to where THEY have to make a change, the younger generation. -- And, with that, I’ll shut up now. Anyway, I wanted to come back and say that I am most looking forward to your in-depth analysis of TS3 in the near future. I always liked hearing people’s critical analysis of shows and movies that I loved.
This movies brings back so many good memories, yes it’s a sad movie but rewatching it reminds me of those days, playing the game on the 360, getting my real life buzz toy, started getting into TH-cam, I had my pet Guinea pigs, everything was simple and fun
I was born in 1995, I literally grew up with these movies, so yeah, I was going to college when I watched this movie in theaters. It still hits me hard, remembering it, but now I have a kid of my own so I also relate to Andy’s mom because someday that’s going to be me watching my kid leave. This trilogy is a masterpiece in cinema and Im so glad that my daughter is currently obsessed with it. (Yes, Im saving up to get her the toys)

Personally I feel that the worst scene in Sonic 2 was the part when Eggman flossed, though mercifully short, the scars of both the character and Jim Carrey run very deep.
26:01 Aren't toys able to use their parts autonomously without necessarily pushing the specific button? Like in Toy Story when Woody used his voice box to speak to Sid or in Toy Story 2 when Buzz's wings popped up at the end.
Andy gave the toys to Bonnie and that nothing interesting happened? Well, that's a lie. You forgot about two cannonical releases after Toy Story 3, Toy Story of Terror and Toy Story: That Time Forgot.
Ya know when big baby picks up lotso and throws him in the dumpster it reminds me of when darth vader picks up the emperor and throws him to his supposed death. Both big baby and anakin were manipulated into becoming evil and then finally become good again in the end. The difference however is that palpatine was just pure evil from the very start where as lotso went insane after he found out he’s been replaced (And yes I’m a bit of star wars nerd)
I’d never thought to compare Big Baby and Darth Vader until you said it and now that I’m thinking about it, yeah they kind of have the same arc in their stories
Yes yes yes you gonna tear Toy Story 4 to shreds next. I hate that movie especially after just rewatching Toy Story 3. Seriously Toy Story 3 deserves justice. Fu k Toy Story 4.
Don’t worry, Toy Story 4 is not canon. The Toy Story franchise is just the first three movies and the Buzz Lightyear of Star Command cartoon movie and show and the shorts that came after Toy Story 3, TS4 and Lightyear are in an alternate universe.
I watched this film a little while ago and my god is it still just as good as it was when I was younger and I definitely think it’s my favorite Toy Story movie Edit: I’ve done a couple of rewatches of this film and honestly now it might just be my favorite film of all time
Maybe one day, but it’s not on my list of projects for the moment; Toy Story 3’s the only one I feel properly motivated to dedicate a full praise to. Partially because I feel like the first two movies have already been sufficiently covered by other TH-camrs.
OK, so, the toilets. Sunnyside is a daycare, with very young children. And young children usually need to "go potty", and more often than not when one kid remembers he has to "go potty" then some other kid also remembers that. Now you have a situation when several children with very limited potty training need to go all at the same time, and you always need to have one worker in the main room, as you can't leave any children unsupervised. Having no dividers between toilets lets the "toilet chaperone" to keep their eye on all kids all at the same time and help them without fumbling around the divider walls. The only real flaw with this plan is that at any time any particularly rowdy boy might decide to play fireman with his potty partner if he insists on doing it while standing up.

My only issue with the ending is that it played the Spanish version of "You've Got a Friend in Me" instead of the English version. I understand why, but considering it's the final scene of the trilogy, it bugs me.
I didn't like Toy Story 3 that much when I was a kid... maybe because I watched it in 3D, which added nothing, maybe because I wasn't old enough to fully appreciate it. However, your Toy Story 4 rant-view made me see it in a whole new light.
I know how unsatisfying this answer is, but they'll be ready when they're ready. I don't have a team of editors, I only have myself, which means these things take awhile, and I don't want to push myself to the extreme lengths I did for the Incredibles 2 series just to get stuff out quicker. Trust me, I get that a long gap in main content is frustrating. But I can promise that even if it doesn't seem like it through my upload schedule, not a day goes by where I'm not working on a video in some capacity - be it writing, recording or editing - and I'm doing absolute my best to make them projects worth waiting for. Hope this helps
The name of the baby who said "moma" was Woody? I'm not sure I believe the mother. I think she just told Pixar that to make herself look cool. I mean, "Woody" is an ancient name. Who in the right mind names their child "Woody" in this day and age!?!
I really hope you guys do a commentary on the How to Train Your Dragon trilogy. It's my favorite animated trilogy of all time, next to Toy Story and Kung Fu Panda.
Why do you love a movie that is for kids man? Grow up LEL! But in all seriousness, goodness gracious great balls of fire is this movie amazing. It's a shame two certain other movies had to come along and ruin it afterward, specifically the one that come out in 2019. Also, adding to your bathroom bit, I was in a boy's locker room earlier and it is absolute hell. The boys just do not shut up and yell randomly for no reason. Then again, they were a bunch of sixth graders (I'm homeschooled and was just visiting the rec to get swimming exercise), but my gosh it was horrible.
Hey I'm with you GamingMagic13, we do not speak of that abhorrent abomination that is The film that destroyed the Toy story legacy, as even E;R has said: "Unnecessary sequels are UNNECESSARY."
When he said "you know what", I thought he was referring to the 2019 Lion King remake, which is actually a photo realistic computer-animated remake of the 1994 original and is currently the highest-grossing animated film of all time, sitting at about $1.6 billion at the box office.

26:01 Aren't toys able to use their parts autonomously without necessarily pushing the specific button? Like in Toy Story when Woody used his voice box to speak to Sid or in Toy Story 2 when Buzz's wings popped up at the end.
Good point
I cant watch this movie without crying or tearing up too
Andy gave the toys to Bonnie and that nothing interesting happened? Well, that's a lie. You forgot about two cannonical releases after Toy Story 3, Toy Story of Terror and Toy Story: That Time Forgot.
- Such a great end to the franchise!

- SUCH! A GREAT END! TO THE FRANCHISE!
cool toy story 3 [2010] film - commentary - highlights !!!!
I’m shocked I wasn’t the only one who knew Trixie is Mabel Pines
Ya know when big baby picks up lotso and throws him in the dumpster it reminds me of when darth vader picks up the emperor and throws him to his supposed death.
Both big baby and anakin were manipulated into becoming evil and then finally become good again in the end.
The difference however is that palpatine was just pure evil from the very start where as lotso went insane after he found out he’s been replaced
(And yes I’m a bit of star wars nerd)
What a great movie, let alone ending to a great trilogy. I’m sure there’ll never be anything to get in the way of that. Right?
1:13:23 The best song is strange things! What an absolute bop!
Toy Story and 3 are my favorite movies all time. HTTYD was a very pleasant surprise from DreamWorks.
I thought Mr. Potato Head sending just his small parts across the playground was because there was no way to get his whole body out
I love that this film isn't even about a prison... they dialled it up all the way to a cult.
I watched this film a little while ago and my god is it still just as good as it was when I was younger and I definitely think it’s my favorite Toy Story movie
Edit: I’ve done a couple of rewatches of this film and honestly now it might just be my favorite film of all time

After your Toy Story 3 praise, will you do praise videos on the first two movies as well?
Maybe one day, but it’s not on my list of projects for the moment; Toy Story 3’s the only one I feel properly motivated to dedicate a full praise to. Partially because I feel like the first two movies have already been sufficiently covered by other TH-camrs.
27:29 I’m glad he does not know what Norbit is 😊
took all my effort not to cry at the end of ts3
Yeah, this was the first movie I saw in cinemas as well, with my school. I was 4 at the time
After, that. LET'S REACT TO ENCANTO!!!
Keaton was in Cars?
Yup; he was the voice of Chick Hicks.

I love this movie and this trilogy with all my heart ♥ It truly made my childhood. Toy Story means so much to me. I recently discovered your videos and I'm so happy to watch a fellow Toy Story super fan. I really belive these movies taught me great lessons asa kid that I still carry with me to this day. So I think I speak for the entire TRUE Toy Story fan base when I say: Fuck Toy Story 4!
Yep, the people say “fuck Toy Story 4!” Are true Toy Story fans, and only the TRUE Toy Story fan base would say that.
@@judebaun9993 Exactly
@@plumsparkles945 anyone defending TS4 is not a true Toy Story fan. Toy Story 4 stands think that they’re the true Toy Story fans and think that the people who think that TS4 is bad are idiots, but in reality it’s the other way around.
Question, if you were to rank all 3 Toy Story movies, where would you place each movie and why?
I wish I saw Toy Story 3 in theaters. Even though I was only 1 and a half years old. The only Toy Story movie I got to watch in theaters was the black Toy Story 4.
That sucks. My condolences.

27:25 LETS GO NORBIT
I keep commenting as I watch more, but TS3 was my first and only movie poster
When will your Cars on the Road and Lightyear videos be ready?

I am just sick and tired of this
When he said "you know what", I thought he was referring to the 2019 Lion King remake, which is actually a photo realistic computer-animated remake of the 1994 original and is currently the highest-grossing animated film of all time, sitting at about $1.6 billion at the box office.
I used to think we were opposites, but you praising Toy Story 3 this much got me in tears! You have to do the praising video for this gem, I don’t know about you, but currently, this is my favorite movie of all time! But… Very closed in with Lightyear, they are both gold, yes I said it. Fight me, but Jesus toy story four was a train wreck
