Imo you hit the max better in the fade & flat setting

Would love to be able to miss a shot nearly 300 yds, wow! Nice strikes Drew. The 10K was working well, the Max was solid too. Currently gaming the 425, would love to move to 430 10K but funds not available
✳️ I tested the 10K and it’s nice and smooth and a solid fade ✅ some reviewers I watched mentioned the 10K has a slight draw bias ✳️ maybe because most golfers hit it with a left to right fade ✳️ I tried hitting a draw with the 10K and it went crap with a duck hook ✳️

Great video Drew. Your swing looks amazing. The numbers that you were getting with the 10k were very impressive. Who wouldn’t want to carry the ball 290 yds running out to 320 yards.

He lost is credibility when he said he would still put you in the 10K when clearly you hit the G430 Max, Fade-Flat better.

I say MAX. Seems like you were spraying the 10K all over. Plus with the moveable weight you can dial out your left miss as needed.
Wow. Watching you hit 300 hundred yards + was fun. However, being 77 and wanting new clubs (existing set is Ping G25) for greater distance, I began to wonder if this club was going to be more than I bargained for. Although you guys stressed it was for everyone I am concerned about whether it truly falls into the category of helping an older golfer get further down the road... Thanks for your 2nd Swing Golf videos, I enjoy them a lot.
Thanks for watching! We appreciate the comment. I think I will defer to what James said in that it combines the best properties of the G430 Max and the G430 LST. It will play like a G430 Max, but the CarbonFly crown allowed them to add the extra MOI. One option as well would be the G430 Max HL driver for players with moderate swing speeds trying to retain clubhead speed. It comes stock with lightweight shafts and a lighter grip that naturally helps players swing it faster than most drivers.
@@2ndswing I took the G430 Max 10K out for a test drive. My golf pro watched me swing my G25 then set the 10K up with one click to left bias
woops…and a Ping senior shaft. I hit it straight and far. At least 10 yds + than my current driver. I love looking down at those turbulators, too! I guess I am “ in the market”.
Jim, I'm 77 as well, hit my friends the other day and I will be getting one. Didn't miss a fairway and much longer than my Taylormade.
I played nine holes today with a 9 degree G430 10K set to 10.5 degrees (someone had broken the 10.5 degree head) and a SR flex shaft. Hit 7 fairways down the middle, and long even with a couple of strikes toward the toe. I reserved it for Sunday for 18 holes to finalize my testing routine. Thanks for your comments. @@jimfarrell7196
Nice review, but nothing was mentioned about the shaft . It looked like Ventus blue, (which I just was fitted for with Ping’s LST.)
Ping has a fairly heavy head and I assume that’s why their stock is a counter balance shaft, but it’s not even mentioned. Could provide some insight on that.
I literally had the same experience as you Drew with both these drivers. Both 10.5 heads in MAX and MAX 10K. Kept turning it over too much. The 10K even in 9 degrees kept turning too much and the -3° setting was too flat for me. I went with the regular MAX turned down to 9° and weight shifted into fade. Left miss and left bias completely eliminated.
Question: Would you apply this setting to the rest of your Ping 430 max fairway woods?
I just bought this driver and have played one round with it. It is as forgiving as advertised. I lowered the loft to the small minus setting. Still getting used to it.

When I’m looking for a new driver, I always watch tons of YT reviews.
And I always come out thinking I shouldn’t have done it, as testers’ swing speeds and shapes are not comparable to mine (90/95mph), so they’re pretty useless to define which driver should I choose, along with which shaft.
They’re free though, but it makes more sense to invest some bucks into a proper fitting, especially if you keep your big dog for 4/5 years, as I usually do.
From ping website....the MAX, total MOI pushes a record 10,000, largely due to a 26-gram tungsten movable weight that shifts the CG lower and farther back and can be secured in the Neutral, Draw or Fade setting.thats the G425
I think "pushes" here means "approaches." 10K is supposedly more forgiving and much lower spin.
HI! You are using a Ventus shaft even though that is not available in the Ping setup??? Why?
probably why so many use that shaft, because its one of the best out there
What’s the MOI on the regular MAX ? So how many more MOI’s is my few hundred dollars buying;-)

Both are awesome. When I put a decent swing on the 10K, it felt fantastic. Since I am a person who will tinker with adjustable options, such as the sliding weight, I think ultimately I would choose the G430 Max. But for the player who doesn't often tinker, the 10K will be a big winner - Drew

Did I miss something? The G430 max with the weight in the toe and the 3 degrees flat was way better than the G430 10K. The only reason the 10K didn't keep going left is because he started playing fades.
Almost seemed like a planned thing on the fitter. Makes him hit fades so that the left miss doesn’t come back. Then he tells him to hit it straight and he hits it left lol
13:06 it wouldn’t cut like you wanted because your address position was still setup for a draw. Drop the left foot back and I guarantee it would have cut for you.
I have an alignment problem...I felt like I did adjust but maybe it wasn't enough. Definitely something I need to work on this year 😂
10K? I thought that was the price. Seriously if you feel this will dramatically help your game then by all means buy this club but I remember the days when each new driver promised up to 15 yards from the previous model.
Long gone are the days of gaining 15 yards from one model to the next. Today, the differences are in consistency and forgiveness, particularly how the off-center strikes perform. That's why you see this push to 10K MOI - Drew

I don’t know what it is but I just can’t get along with Ping drivers…tried them all.
Basically the 10k is unnecessary. The Max is more than enough in forgiveness. And LST if you spin it too much.
