  • If you wanted to know how well the GBS Control handles resolution switching on the PS1, well just have a wee look at this. It switches from 240p to 480i and back in a jiffy - especially noticeable in Dino Crisis. There's a little bit of jitter in the 480i but that's likely down to my PS1 being PAL 60Hz modded so it runs closer to 59fps rather than 59.94fps.
I think it's great and is really the only way to play these resolution switching games without shelling out for a RetroTINK 5x (which I'm sure is worth every penny!)

The switching is great on the GBS Control! Out of curiosity, how do you go about setting the correct aspect ratio? My GBS Control tries to automatically stretch my image to 16:9 and I have to manually de-stretch it through the GBS Control.

It is great, though I've noticed in recent updates it's a little less compatible with my capture card. In regards to aspect ratio, it depends on both your output resolution and your TV.
1080p is a 4:3 image pillarboxed; 720p is 16:9. I used to use 960p as my output Res and that is a 4:3 image but your TV may stretch it to 16:9, so you need to make sure your TV is outputting either 4:3 or unscaled.
Either way, you generally shouldn't have to correct the aspect ratio within the GBS, so it sounds like a resolution or TV issue in this case.

@@tunnotron3000 I'll try changing the Aspect ratio on the TV. Thanks!
