Most people wouldn't think a bird could make a good pet, but they can be just as affectionate as a dog or cat. Like FeFe, they are interested in absolutely everything you do, no matter how mundane it is. They just want to be included. And they make you feel like you are the most exciting person in the world.
Probably even more than a cat
It is very difficult to measure the intelligence of a parrot, as their brains are very different from ours, but in the parts of "intelligence" where humans and parrots do intersect they may be just as smart as us or very nearly so.
But I want to stress this, parrots are not really good pets for most people. They need a lot of enrichment. They need stability, they do not respond at all well to stress of any kind. They are very susceptible to household chemicals, fumes from overheating a nonstick pan can kill one in just a few minutes. They can live longer than humans. They can be very loud.
If you have the time and can make that commitment for the next 60 or 70 years then sure but please be prepared. No parrot deserves to wind up like Fefe.
Fish such as oscars and bettas, too. Except the only fish that can truly leave the tank are wild-caught mudskippers. Somebody in my family used to pet his oscar fish, and bettas like to approach people.
Edit: Wild-caught because nobody knows how to breed them.
@@Eashaal Cats are a lot better if you do a lot of research than if you do not, they are just harder than a lot of people think, especially if you get multiple cats.

I love how Fefe looks at whatever her dad is doing! She’s just, “such wow, so interesting, much coolness” and I love her so much! She may be a naked chicken but she’s a cutie!

I had a cockatiel for 15 years. He was always intensely interested in everything I did.
That bird is the exact character copy of my rats. They also loved the "foot elevator" and had to watch and approve everything i did :)

Well, she is trying to understand what he's doing, from her parrot perspective.

I'd imagine that most animals that live in houses with humans, who have thinky think brains, ie dogs, cats, other such mammals and large birds, think that houses are just really warm caves that never get drafts.
I think that's her trying to get a better look at what he's doing.
I agree. She is so enamored and you can tell she is engaged and loving life.

Fefe is adorable. It looks like she’s wearing a little fur coat. She has lovely pink feathers near her eyes. It’s wonderful to hear of any creature finding a loving home where they are appreciated and cared for. 💕

There's always something hidden with the "different" critters. I run a parrot rescue... Everyone usually asks for the "perfect" Parrot.. Them fall in love you the bald and beautiful ❤️❤️. Since birds can’t pluck feathers from their own head, how do you think she lost her head feathers from trauma? Some of this doesn’t make sense.
@@anti-ethniccleansing465 stress.. and they can scratch at themselves and rub their heads on branches or whatever is around. Horses do it when they have an itchy rump, they rub themselves on a tree sometimes end up with bald patches. Any animal that is stressed can lose hair and/or feathers. People lose hair from stress.
Fefe is most definitely being loved in this home.

Such a sweet little dinosaur. I read somewhere that cockatoos are extremely clingy. Once they pick a favorite human they always have to be up in that humans business.

How cute is that! So funny that people can think they don’t like a certain animal and then one comes into their life! My dad said he was never a cat or dog person, but they always loved him and he certainly had his favorite! Before he passed a few years ago, their little dog Chloe was his little princess (she could do no wrong and she watched over him until the day he passed)! Chloe is a little Yorkie and she’s pretty old herself, right now! Animals are the best, because they live us unconditionally! So glad you rescued her!

pigeons are adorable ❤ street pigeons here love humans,they come up onto my hand and it used to feel so good.... until there was birdflu and now I can't feed them😞 esp since I have budgies and the flu might pass on

This is another example of our earth angels love and compassion for all creatures. You can feel how happy FeFe is. You also see the terrible life poor little FeFe endured before she was rescued. She has so much character now that she is in a caring and loving ❤ home.
