@@williammillar2892I agree. The OP’s analogy is too good. I’d like to use that analogy too. Garry, for me, is still the GOAT. These games were in the 90s. Explosive, yet so calculated. When he wins, he is significantly ahead of his opponent. Garry goes for the head. You only see these games on blitz and bullet nowadays, except that they’re intuitive, sceambled, and dubious. When he checkmates it’s like looking at the fireworks go still. When he goes for a winning endgame, you’re watching, you’re watching the falling debris of fireworks fall.

Kramnik was already losing at this point, but the Qf8 blunder goes to show you that even top-level grandmasters sometimes (albeit rarely) miss 1-move tactics. Great game!
Got curious so I checked with Nibbler on my laptop: Stockfish 15.1 evaluates Rd6 as '99.9% winning rate' instantly. Leela v0.29.0 (running on a pretty strong GPU) does have trouble with the position. It initially evaluates it as 50%, steadily rising to 90% after thinking for 90 seconds.

I always appreciate the little side lessons you sprinkle into your analysis videos, such as looking briefly at the 12...Bg5 line in this video.

While it's true, I think he just rightfully worries on the quality of his communication, to ensure that everone understands the game and other important aspects of it. When I didn't had much experience about chess, ChessNetwork was my favourite chess youtuber, because the way he explains the positions that arrive was always and still is very clear, concrete and well structured, with good principles for novice players, and other players that are not so capable of seeing or understanding some of the sequences and concept he mentions. I also reinforce the fact, he's one of the oldest TH-cam chess content creators and analysts, when showing up on camera, and more fluid but less transparent ways of communication weren't largelly available on the platform.

I think the combination featuring the queen sac and forced queen promotion by Kasparov put Kramnik on a tilt. He couldn't calculate any more.

Actually, my Computer (and Stockfish 15) does NOT evaluate the position 0.0 after Rd6 at 16:00 - it evaluates it +4.53 for white, a clear win!
