This is by far the most detailed interior dimension video on the Ford Transit, down to every contour. Thank you for uploading this. Im currently planning out my own camper van layout, so this helps alot!
We are very happy you found this helpful! When we were planning out our van build we could not find a video like this so when we took delivery we knew we had to make it!
1 year old video and I still come back to it for specs. Ma'am, you and whomever else helped with this specific video are just what TH-cam was made for. Thank you all. 🙂
Thank you!!!! This is exactly what anyone thinking about building a van needs!! Thank you so much for taking the time to create this detailed measurement video. Such a simple video concept that is so, so helpful. I’ll be referencing it again and again! Well done!
At first I thought "this is a stupid idea" Then I watched it, then watched it again. Now it's my go to for every phase of my design work. Haven't got the vehicle yet, but I'll be miles ahead on the build out thanks to your diligence and willingness to share. Thank you so very much. - Chris
lol, we were looking for a video like this for months during our planning phase and it did not exist. So, the moment we got our van we made the video that we needed. Glad it helps!
Thanks for this. Side note: there's plenty of room for a common sheet of plywood between the wheel wells (54.8" in the 2024 models) as long as it's not a dually.
Thx for making video. I have a 2023 on order than is very similar to your so your video is very helpful for my planning of my future camper van buildout.
We are very happy that the video was helpful! We realized that a measurement video would have been tremendously helpful when we were planning our van, and it was missing from TH-cam. So we made it!
This is such a helpful video. Thank you!! One question, did you list the width of the ceiling beams? If not, do you happen to have that measurement? Thanks again!
This was great! We are trying to decide if we want to order a passenger van and pull our small camper and possibly convert it later or do what you are doing.
We went back and forth between a van, a truck with a bed-camper, or a truck with a trailer and it came down to a few things. 1) Safety of being able to quickly get into the driver seat from bed if we needed to drive away quickly, 2) Ease-ability to drive. while Joe spent a lot of time towing trailers when he was younger it's not something that he wants to do for 30,000 + miles next year, and 3) we ultimately want to ship the vehicle to Europe and a trailer / truck combo was just too big to make do that. Anyways, let us know what you decide to do!
I love the red! Could you tell us the step in height for driver side? I'm worried I won't be able to get into this model without assistance. Thanks!!!🤓
I think she made a mistake and added 10 inches because there's a schematic of the floor based off of the cargo mat dimensions and it shows that it is 41 inches from the back of the wheel well on the extended length van. The reason I called it is because I'm going over things quite a bit trying to design a floorplan And that's how I caught what I'm almost certain is a mistake because it also doesn't match the dimensions from Ford and again it's off by about 10 inches.
Great question, dually means there are two wheels in the rear on each side or 6 wheels in total on the van. This allows for more traction in poor conditions and allows for the weight of the van to be better spread out.
Incorrect. That is a common misconception. Dual wheels are primarily for carrying more weight (be it cargo or a combination of cargo and trailer tongue weight) but get less traction because there's less weight on each of them. It's the same concept as wide tires not getting as much traction in mud or on snow and ice as narrow tires which is why army jeeps and mud bog trucks have skinny tires. Unfortunately it's a trade-off… You have to pick your poison with tire choices because you can't have the best of both worlds.
Bore? Like cut a hole in something (crowd or material?)? Boar like a wild pig? Bore..... as in? Sorry, we can't help you with your comment since there was nothing to start with.
I'm sorry, but after watching the video, I still don't know the length of the van from the front bumper to the outside of the rear door and how tall it's from the ground. I hate to vote for dislike, but I don't want another person to waste 13 minutes.
There are hundreds of measurements that we could have given for the van, we chose to focus on the interior as it was most important for our build-out and weren’t easily attainable online.
Those dimensions are all over the Internet! The reason people make videos like this is for all of the information they can't get anywhere else to help them design a basic build layout in advance my God you can find the exterior dimensions in less time than it took you to write that comment 🤦♂️🤦♂️
The one thing we learned while measuring our 2022 Ford Transit 350 HD High Roof/Ext Dually is that there is SO MUCH ROOM FOR ACTIVITIES!
That is a very nice van, i want to get one similar to your model by the way how much are you averaging on your mpg economy ??
@@Jz-sv1ju Right now with the roof rack, A/C, Fan, motorcycle on the rear hitch we are seeing roughly 13 mpg. It's def not great.
@@katieandjoeonthego wow that is on the low end. Is that engine with the dual turbochargers?
@@Jz-sv1ju Yep, the V6 EcoBoot.

Best interior dimension walk thru ever!

Did I miss the height from the floor to the ceiling supports in the middle of the van?

van looks like the town of largo "high plains drfter" i like the seats but also the regular 3 seat option.
Thank you for the video. Did the van come with no interiors like showing on the video or you already removed seats, floor rug, etc?
We ordered the van completely empty, as you see it.
So with your measurements, the length from the back of the wheel well to the back pillar is 164-114 = 50 inches?
I think she made a mistake and added 10 inches because there's a schematic of the floor based off of the cargo mat dimensions and it shows that it is 41 inches from the back of the wheel well on the extended length van. What’s the tallest interior height? Did I miss it?
nice van
Thank you! We are BIG fans of our BIG red van.
Thank you!
Thats a lot of RED!
Lovely!
Was there a reason that you didn't go with a diesel engine?
@@carterk9239 Ford no longer offers a diesel engine in the Transit platform. I believe the last year for that was 2019? But don’t quote me on that.
What is the width of the seats???
Great question, when we jump out to work on the van today we will grab that measurement for you.
All these dimensions are good, but the payload weight is less than 4800 Ib, which is low 😓
Payload for the 350 HD is 5,200lbs with the GVRW at well over 11,000lbs
You wonderful woman.
Thank you.
The one measurement I'm interested in was not covered lol, rear door load height, that being said, I'm looking for business, not pleasure.
I was wondering about the same.
What is a dually ? New to the cargo world

How do people get into the habit of talking like every sentence is a question?
It’s common in several English dialects.
Don’t go to Australia. You’d hate it.
