    For your heatsource, consider investing in some soapstone tile or countertop remnants, something sized to fit on the top & sides of your woodstove. It will absorb the heat, then slowly release it over time, all while remaining relatively low-temperature. (Unlike the metal of the woodstove, which can & will get scorching hot.) Soapstone is dense, so weight will be a factor, but it will greatly extend your "burn time" temperatures.

    This guy thought of everything in the build of his truck. His sleeping area with a separate entrance is not only efficient but a great safety feature as an emergency exit. Not having windows add to his stealth mode of living any where. I think it was a great idea when he mentioned what to keep if converting a Uhaul truck. For the fireplace, I personally would have opted for something a little larger and have a dual function for heating and cooking. What a great guy and dad! ❤

    • @redwolfexr
      @redwolfexr 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +11

      @@DaveDrawing yeah but the wood stove he picked isn't designed for overnight heat. There are some really nice stoves that you can adjust for a good 8 hours of output. That one doesn't have enough thermal mass or the right air control to slow down the burn. Like he said, it dumps all its heat from a load of wood in an hour or so. So basically it overheats the space and then goes out. So he pretty much depends on the diesel heater 24/7 unless he is on shore power.

    Hey Jenna,
    I have watched your videos for years because they are entertaining and interesting. Now I have another purpose. I am considering a tiny home as a retirement option and your videos are very helpful in showing such a wide range of opportunities. You have always been very cheerful and pleasant in your videos. Thank you. Also, congratulations on your baby girl. 😊 That is such a blessing for you and your husband. 👍

    Absolutely a great way to live. Freedom from the grind of owning real estate. I’m determined to set myself up with a similar rig, my mindset is already there and I’m very confident I can do it with my background. Being a carpenter and backyard mechanic for over 30 years, I’m so excited to see what you have accomplished!!

    "Stealth is important" - has a massive patio door..... plus visible black tank valves and propane tank.
    Not so stealth, but still a great rig. And it's awesome you share the experience with your daughter!

    The best build! Love your ideas. There were so many good ones that I lost count It’s stylish, practical, neat and organized but most of all it’s sooooo attractive! Love your bike on the wall. Love the ways your skis look on the wall. A nice Gothic allusion. Love your generous and inviting shower and bathroom with the bidet. So practical and over the top nice. Your bed system is awesome and inviting. Live the steel baskets on the wall as candle holders, etc. Such a welcoming, I call it “cozy industrial”. You really fixed your self a really nice place with no cramped up, bend over type spaces. It’s great.

    Love that you put a real toilet and shower. I get so sick of people treating hygiene as something that is superficial and then living like skunks in a den. I believe in COMFORT!!! As a person getting towards the top of middle age and being disabled I believe being able to use the bathroom in comfort and with some dignity is a MUST.
    About the only thing I would change is to have the daughters bed be able to slide up to the ceiling when she is not there and to add more solar panels so you can run everything on electric. I don't like gas burners in a smalls space because if it blows then you are going to get shredded and the risk of carbon monoxide and methane poisoning is not fun to deal with.
    I think it's a great build overall though =)

    I love this rig everything about it is so incredibly unique and well planned out! I also love how unique the owner himself is. I could listen to him talk all day, maybe he should consider narrating audiobooks lol.
