Absolutely Fantastic! Atlus has really outdone themselves with this one, plus im a huge Game of Thrones fan 😁👍🏻
100h in game done with true ending
I finished the game yesterday, and David. If your opinion of this game is anything better than mediocre I must assume you're simply shilling, but perhaps you're still playing hoping to find more depth later. If you're an Atlus fan you should quite readily see this does not stand in the same quality as P3-5. It does not stand in the same level of quality as the SMT series (minus V which was awful) I'm glad to see steam reviews that recognize this. The characters are all very shallow. They have no depth. Brigetta and Alonzo are the best, (you don't know that second character based on what i've seen in your video) the antagonist. He's weak, in every sense of the word. I'm going to stop writing here because I don't want to go into spoilers or to re-write my steam review, but this is the third strike on Atlus' record. SMTV, P3 Reloaded, and now this. If we praise mediocrity we'll only get more of it and worse. We should be calling out Atlus when it produces something of this quality because we know it can do better. MUCH MUCH better.
@@patriot639 this is strike two for me. If p6 isn’t good I’ll probably stop paying attention to anything but SMT
I truly love how ya literally only have to do basically 1 bond event and it increases the bond level by 1
Yeah you're reward for the correct answers It's just straight up magla. It's nice
Yeah, this made the game a lot more fun to play without a guide or reloading a bunch.
This game is incredible. I am so obsessed with Louis it's actually unhealthy.
Loving the game a lot. Worth the wait. The game looks so sexy.
I think this might be a contender for a top 5 Atlus game for me personally.
If the ending is good, it'll definitely be up there.
i am a huge fan of villians in general and Louis is fantastic so far
70 hours in and a tiny bit past the halfway point of the game with still a shit ton of stuff to do. HOLY hell, I love this game.
70 hours and only just past the halfway point, what😭 what level are you?
Why are you over grinding 😂
I've got like 30 hours and I'm only at the second Dungeon
I always end up thinking very deeply about every little thing in rpgs
loving this game. long time atlus fan, but i really appreciate how they have made the persona mechanics a bit less stressful haha. it's very generous so far
I'm about 45 hours in the game, it's really, really good. Easily my GOTY.
There are no spoilers in my comment.
I feel that they've finally corrected the pacing issues from Persona games. Everything feels smoother, faster. Dungeons are long but don't take forever, deadlines aren't too long that you wait an in-game month every time.
The world is fun to explore, lots of small surprising things everywhere, beautiful vistas... Though some environments really show how outdated the engine is (it's still the one created over a decade ago for Catherine/Persona 5, if I'm not mistaken).
And the story has some surprises in its sleeves. Right now I'm in a situation that I was not expecting at all in the beginning hours, so that's pretty cool.
Oh, and I love that there are no real "wrong" answers in social links. Say what you want, you're not punished in your evolution if you don't answer exactly what the writers wanted you to answer. You'll miss some MAG, sure, but in Persona you'd be forced to spend more time with the link, which is much more punitive in terms of time management.
That is a very good change.
I have a small issue with the game though, I feel like all the awakenings I've seen so far in the game are a bit unearned. They happen too quickly, with little to no build-up.
Kind of disappointing after how hype the Persona 5 awakenings were.
Solid 9.5/10 for me so far.
Oh I see- every 20 hours of a game you do you do a short spoiler cast and mini-review. I’d love to see that for metaphor and the other games you decide to cover maybe make it a series/playlist for all the games you do?
Enjoyed the video and had a couple suggestions. First, since different players grind different amounts, it would help a ton next time if you mentioned the in-game date you’re on since that makes it easy to know if we got to that part without spoiling events/locations. Second, in regards to your party, I’m a lot farther along and would say that if you’re having trouble with your party that swapping the merchant for a gunner is a good start (also using an inherited skill slot for the healer ability Medi is a good default to help you easily heal your party during battle). Good luck! :)
For combat I find synthesis skills life savers, also don’t forget to use turn back time to find weaknesses and stock up on variety of items
That shady character is amazing. I love him 😂
The way I played this game was that I would prioritise magic over anything else for my protag, dump strength, agility and luck. Use Mage, Healer and Seeker lineages for him. Strohl is an absolute strength unit as he prioritises it over any other stat, give him the warrior lineage and if you're running out of mp in the early game you can switch to the brawler archetype, or the merchant archetype later on. When I unlocked the commander lineage I gave it to him cuz ir really fits him and finally gives him great party support skills while also making use of his strength stat. Hulkenberg's best stat is endurance so make sure to get the most out of it with the knight lineages. You can give her the mage lineage for synthesis or weakness exploiting purposes (it also gets useful for getting the next step in the knight lineage), or even some strength based archetype cuz it's the second best stat for her I believe. I recommend giving the next party member who prioritises agility over anything else, the thief, gunner, merchant and also the faker lineage until you get the next party member who prioritises magic and give the faker to them since it suits them better. Can't say anything for the last party members but I think the one who gets the Berserker archetype might also work well with a brawler, and the one who gets the summoner lineage needs the seeker archetype for a very late game unlock for them from what I know
But all of this doesn't change the fact that if it works for you and gives you fun then you by all means stick to it. No need to optimise the fun out of a game like I very often catch myself doing.
Keep on making these i wanna see how you react to later stuff. I am on NG+ (i barely slept 😂)
I've been having a good time but finally reached a slight wall around the halfway point. I think I've gone to a dungeon a bit above my level lol but I'm too stubborn to leave and waste the day
You are certainly going faster than me. I think you are probably about 3hrs ahead of me, and I have already played for 21hrs. But I never touched the demo. I spent days just trying to get through the cathedral. I really should have stocked up on recovery items. I felt like after every floor I had to switch to the mage and refight all of the lower floors so I could use my archetype skills again. But they did such a great job with the runner. It really reminds me of when I took an all day train ride to northern Canada.
Im 50 hours in and I have liked every second of it. My only nitpick with the game is that it uses SMT 3's combat system instead of SMT 5's, so the party's turn order is determined by agility, instead of being able to manually change it, and passing with a half turn icon uses the half turn icon instead making a second half turn icon.
Yeah I kinda screwed myself with that a few times because I've played so much of smt5
Cuculus bond is on of my favorite bonds in the game
MOST IMPORTANT TIP: go to the bathroom EVERY idle day. You are welcome.
Oh so it's on idleday?
I had noticed "the thing", but not that it was on specific days, thanks!
Try Hulkenburg as a Brawler
I really like that tournament of the throne popularity contest, it does give off Persona 5 popularity % vibes with the Phantom Thieve Website plot but I think is different enough to not bother me and it absolutely makes sense. Of course Metaphor takes many inspiration not only from Persona or SMT but also from other games like the Job Class system from many old school RPGs like Final Fantasy, is more akin to Dungeon and Dragons. I also like the Monster Hunter bounty inspiration and how you travel through specifically made small open areas in a over world map like you do in a Monster Hunter or in a Fire Emblem game. I absolutely adore Metaphor so much RPG history cramped together in one amazing package.
So far (I basically just started the tournament) I love how the tournament isn’t really how to “win”. I really hope that divide between the reality and politics stays and doesn’t get forgotten.
I’m enjoying the game a lot too. :) For me personally, the popularity system in Persona 5 was one of the few aspects that I disliked compared to Persona 3 FES because it frustrated me to see the characters hyping up something as very important that I didn’t care about. By contrast, in Metaphor ReFantazio they do a much better job in the narrative of making the ranking/popularity seem as important to the player as the cast and I loved that. So I’d say it was a lot better than Persona 5 in that regard.
@@perlichtman1562 I agree, it had some importance in P5 but that was at the very, very end when it was 100% and everyone cheered them up to win the fight and save the world and so on but fir the majority of the game it didn't had much importance, beisdes boosting their moral.
Good thing I'm 50 hours in
Did I not give vengeance enough time?? I feel this game is a much much better story. I just felt no hook in vengeance and just got board.
You may not like Briggitas background/hangout event a little later on
What I like about this game, it clearly puts the overall objectives on the table from the start but then when you travel from city to city, the 'current problems' you deal with there, which nudge you closer to the overall goal, but those mini-stories are complete in their own and enough to drive my interest to completing them. Which, when you do, you get the satisfaction of doing it and should be hot to move on and tackle the next city/place to further your overall objective of stopping Louis.
I prefer this to the Persona games, which tend to mire you in mystery for 1/2 the game before dropping the objectives.
Except when the party finally asks the obvious question “did Louis really curse the prince?” Like 2/3 of the way through the game after they’ve already tried to unalive him. I think the characters in persona 4 are smarter than these idiots
@@t_bone2145 I’m 60 hours in (lots of extra time in dungeons for fun) and I hadn’t gotten to that point yet. You should spoiler tag that comment about the question because honestly I can’t be the only player that wasn’t considering it yet.
@@perlichtman1562 it’s not a spoiler 🤦♂️
@@t_bone2145 I understand that it doesn’t seem like one to you or else you would have used the tag to start with. What I’m pointing out is that not everyone else would agree with you.
I’ve edited various publications since the 90s and if any one of my writers tried to include something like that in the review without so much as a spoiler warning, we would have had a serious conversation. Even Zero Punctuation would have given a spoiler warning. You might want to re-evaluate your standards.
For people who have play less than 20 hours, pretty sure this is not a spoiler. In the demo I found this book. Any theories about that chained book in the corner of the Akademia? Because I am so curious about what others are thinking. The book is suspicious.
Lvl 99 boss on regicide
It has some bad difficulty spikes but it doesn’t bother me too much
I over level so usually i only get to fight max 1-2 turned based opponent/even main dungeon so nah its an easy game.
@@fseiba6718"I over level so it's easy" well no shit
First 20 hours? So the prologue basically? 🤭
Yeah almost every guide just covers the demo its really annoying
I've beaten the game and its definitely my favorite atlus game and game this year. I really do want to hear you talk about the 4th main dungeon when you get to it, its the best one.
Some fun things you may not know is that this game has a perfect dodge system, when you dodge at the lst second your party will punish the enemy. Another thing is that the protagonist has unique skills for every archetype like mage Regen 1 mp every time you kill/stun a enemy in the action battles
It’s peak
I love that hard mode can be challenging sometimes.
Sidequest feels worthwhile and there isn’t too much.
Story gameplay is addicting I can’t stop playing
