I can't possibly overstate how much Girls' Generation has done for K-Pop, girl groups in particular, and myself individually. 💗 They are the best, and always will be.

Its not about who is the best. Every group is talented... and just like for u SNSD is the "best", for others they are the other girl groups... respect opinions the way u want others to respect yours..... no need to state if they are the best, as long as u like them, thats all it matters

@@ercocal17 it's not that deep, we say SNSD is the best to kpop like how someone would say Michael Jackson is the best to pop. Because that's just how it is. They mean no disrespect to other groups. SNSD helped the genre and the expansion of the "hallyu wave" along with 2NE1 and other groups from that time. People will stress it and say "they were the best" because it's important for people to recognize where kpop and the international impact it has now come from. It's no accident SNSD were the first girlgroup in Korea to hold the title of "Nation's girl group", and we can argue groups like Blackpink and Twice wouldn't exist without SNSD. They created a formula other kpop agencies craved to reproduce. Blackpink literally came from YG saying they needed a dance heavy/visual group like SNSD to sustain its brand and be attractive to a Korean audience and beyond. SNSD members are still doing wonderfully well individually and proved that a kpop group can be sustainable and much more than a simple fad. That's the impact of SNSD. And that's why they're considered to be the best. That doesn't mean we dislike other groups at all. I've got love for all the people in the music industry that work their butts off day & night to achieve their dreams, but i do like to recognize where the stuff we see and hear everyday comes from.

SNSD was known for consistently EATING every era up & leaving no crumbs. I’ve been a SONE since 2010 and although their Korean title tracks are amazing, their real bangers lie in their deep cuts / b-sides (particularly their Japanese releases). PLEASE react to a few of their Japanese title tracks & b-sides (Flower Power, Galaxy Supernova, Bad Girl, Paparazzi for the title tracks / Lips, You-aholic, The Great Escape, Karma Butterfly for their b-sides). I promise you, you won’t be disappointed! There’s no way you won’t be able to stan after!

SNSD was the first girl kpop group i ever stanned, during Genie era, and sir I had that The boys, I got a boy on repeat, I can confidentially say I contributed a good number of viewers to the respective MVs and the other ones as well. I mean companies postponed their groups' comebacks cause of the "The boys" teasers, the actual power these girls held is legendary 👏🏾They are 👸 Queens

Kpop was not even a thing in Spain in 2011. I was one of the few lucky people who got into it back then haha. However, The Boys used to play in Zara, Stradivarius and H&M here. I remember how excited I would get when I'd go shopping and this song randomly played! SNSD is indeed a legendary group ❤️

Run Devil Run opened the concept of 'Black Soshi'. Prior to this, they mostly had cutesy, young concepts (well except for Genie i guess). Also, the demo for this song was sung by Kesha.
It wasn’t a demo, Kesha released the song as well. It’s on her album Animal. The producers sold the song to both. One version for the US and one for the Asian market. It’s a common thing.

Definitely see the Karma butterfly Japanese concert stage someday (maybe not a reaction video) but on your own time. It's a MUST see. Honestly GG shines so well in MVs but their stages are where you really see why they're legends even a decade later

After watching this again, now... WOW. Back then I never thought that their choreos was this powerful (the boys/I got a boy) even their super cheerful mv still have cool choreos... They didn't have to put powerful rap part like some girlgroup in this generation to be super stunning😅
There's sooo much SNSD content which is cool..you get to see them evolve. Genie was 2010, in 2011 they started doing their legendary Japan tours. Once you get into songs like Galaxy Supernova, Flower Power, Mr. Taxi, My oh My, etc. along with all the b-sides & ballads, you'll see how important Japan was to their career...and SNSD were great live.

Genie is super iconic for me, and my favorite track out of these 3, as well as just one of my favorite SNSD title tracks, because of the choreo, the outfits, THE LEGS, and the chorus. It gets stuck in my head for days on end. However, my favorite SNSD track of all time, is Lionheart!!! The MV makes the track EVEN better. Hope you get to that one soonish! Love that you are getting into these girls!!!

Thank you for this reaction. SNSD was and always will be one of the top girl groups of Korea. If you have time to dig into the earlier era of KPOP, groups like T-Ara, KARA, 2NE1, Sistar, After School and on the male side TVXQ, BEAST (now Highlight), INFINITE, B.A.P, 2PM etc are all so so so timeless.
Fun Fact : You can find an english version of 'Run Devil Run' sung by Kesha, it once was her song but i think she sold the rights to SM (if i remember correctly)

Kesha didn't have any creative input on RDR. It was written before she released her first album. She was hired to record the demo and that was the extent of her involvement. She blew up when her album released, so if the song had been written a year later, some other no name would have recorded the demo.

If I remember well the concept for The boys was they return as goddess. Before The boys, they were in Japan for 2 years, a very long time in K-pop world. Everyone was waiting this comeback and they comeback with a more mature concept.
They even made a reality show with tough teenagers who had behavior problems. They were mentors , it was so interesting!
And for Genie, there is a very well know compilation of a part of the song "DJ put it back on" sing by Tiffany. In concerts, she replace DJ by the name of the city or the name of the arena/dome... The famous one is Madison Square Garden put it back on!!! Love it ♥️
SNSD is not just stuck in one concept but so many concept they have been trying that's why they are the legendary girl group and be the role model of many kpop girl group out there

Their concept in The Boys is like their Queens from different kingdoms. From what I remember YoonA is a warrior Queen, Tiffany is a Mermaid queen if I'm not mistaken, and the rest is I'm not sure. In their teaser image, it describes more the concept
