Durston X-Mid 2- First pitch excitement! Will this be the tent I will use for ALL my future hikes?

- Hey fellow outdoor enthusiasts! Today is a day I've been eagerly awaiting - the first pitch of my Durston X-Mid 2 tent, one of the most hyped tents of 2023 (and probably 2024)! After a long wait and some serious anticipation, I finally got my hands on this beauty, and I couldn't be more thrilled to share my first hand experience with you all.
Setting up this tent has been a dream of mine for quite some time, and the day has finally arrived. Join me as I put the Durston X-Mid 2 through its paces, testing if it lives up to all the hype. My expectations are sky-high, and I'm genuinely curious to see if the setup process is as smooth as it looks on paper (or on TH-cam haha).
One of the unique features of the X-Mid 2 is that it's not your typical freestanding tent - it's a trekking pole tent. I'll be exploring how easy it is to set up with trekking poles and checking out just how solid everything feels. Durston has created quite a buzz with this design, so let's see if it stands up to the excitement!
Importing this tent to the Netherlands was a bit of a challenge, both logistically and financially. However, I'm happy to report that everything went smoothly in the end. Yeah, so do I. I'm planning on using it when it's around spring. We get lots of showers and rainstorms in that season. Actually looking forward to it haha!

Dat is nog is grappig! Ik heb een week geleden een Durston X-Mid 2 Solid besteld en dacht ik ga is wat yt filmpjes opzoeken, nou kwam ik jou tegen en dacht bekend gezicht. Na even een double check van je andere videos klopte mijn gevoel, je had destijds via marktplaats mijn Naturehike Cloud Up 2 gekocht :) ondertussen heb ik al wat hikes afgelegd (3 weken geleden nog de Cape Wrath Trail in Schotland), ik ga misschien volgend jaar op advies van jouw toen je hier bij mij thuis was de Mullerthall Trail doen.
Kan niet wachten om mijn Durston X-Mid 2P Solid uit te gaan proberen.

Wat grappig inderdaad! En ook supertoevallig dat je ook een X-Mid 2 wilt gaan bestellen haha. Ik kan het me nog goed herinneren dat ik de Naturehike tent bij je op kwam halen. Daar heb ik overigens ook nog een review van gemaakt :) . En wat gaaf zeg, de Cape Wrath Trail staat ook hoog op mijn lijstje!
Ben benieuwd naar wat voor je hikes je nog op de planning hebt staan!

Welke verzendoptie heb je gebruikt? Heb je alle extra kosten ook moeten betalen of heb je "geluk" gehad? Mooie review!
Ik heb hem via Canada Post en FedEx laten versturen. Je kan het automatisch via de Durston website of die van Kavizo doen. Helaas heb ik geen geluk gehad en moest ik de volle mep betalen, maar ach, was het dubbel en dwars waard. Thanks voor de comment!

Same, the price really is a pain but imo it's definitely worth it. Too bad there aren't big European distributors at this moment for Durston Gear, that would probably save alot of money.
