Hiking Experience: The Mullerthal Trail, Luxembourg

- Welcome back to another Hiking Experience!
In October, at the onset of autumn, I hiked the Mullerthal Trail (Route 1, 2 & 3) in the country of Luxembourg. This journey spanned a total of 115 kilometers and unfolded over a course of four days! This was not my first time I hiked it, but it was the first time documenting the most notable highlights. Rest assured, some hidden gems are reserved for those who explore the trail in person!
Now I know this trail is breathtakingly beautiful as you can probably see from the footage that I shot, but I do really have to say that these merely scratch the surface of the awe- inspiring beauty that awaits on the trail.
This trail, nestled in the region of Echternach, offers an enchanting, almost fantastical ambiance. Reminiscent of scenes from “The Lord of the Rings”. Even in the more frequented/touristy areas, that tranquility still prevails.
The hike is really an easy and forgiving one in my opinion. There are plenty of (amazing) parts where you can sit, grab a bite or take a slurp of water and just relax before you continue.
Access to fresh water is readily available, with flowing natural streams and small waterfalls every 5 kilometers or so. Additionally, the trail passes through charming villages/towns where you can grab a snack or buy some food.
As for which route to choose for a day hike, I refrain from revealing preferences, as each route possesses its unique charm. However, I will admit that Route 2 stands out for me personally with its captivating rock formations and ancient, dense forests.

Thank you, glad you liked it! Trail number 2 is definitely my favorite. It has the most beautiful paths and views, but it´s also a little harder due to the differences in terrain which I really like.

Thanks! Well it wasn't that difficult but the tricky part is getting away far enough from the trails and/or roads. The area is full of them so I would take that into consideration and always walk a little bit further before making up camp :)
