Wahaj and his range is beyond all his peers. Well deserved to be on top
Still frustrates me to the core for how Wahaj was ROBBED this year at Lux. Neither was he nominated for JBG, nor DNUTN. Yet shit shows like Jalan and Ishq Hai were nominated. Wahaj is clearly the finest actor in the young male lot of this generation. Same goes for Yumna. She deserved to be win Jury award for DNUTN. Beyond disappointed with the Jury this year at Lux. They discarded the talent of two phenomenonal artists and the best show of the year. No award for DNUTN... not even one! What a Shame.
I was really disappointed when DNUTN didn’t win jury awards. Especially Yumna. But the drama did win a special award, Best Ensemble Play.
You are a so correct, Wahaj shone in both and Yumna was great in DNUTN, this shows how shallow these awards are!
Wahaj Ali is the most promising yet underrated actor right now
People started taking Bilal for granted unfairly. He portrayed so many shades in Dobara effortlessly. For me, he is the Best along with Wahaj.

Mikaal Zulfiqar is a brilliant actor. He plays his roles very well but he’s given crap storylines. Don’t blame it on his acting. He goes above over and beyond in his talent

Farhan Saeed has to be in the top 3 with all due respect he HAS done impeccable Job with his subtle yet Realistic performance. When you talk about diversity Look at his Range as an actor and his performances in Mere Humsafar and in Badshah BEGHUM both of these characters are Poles apart and he has out done himself. There's a reason why millions of people felt Soo connected to Hamza's character there's a Reason why people made it internationally hit.

With due respect I wanna say that all our actors are talented but the real crap is our storylines that are repeated over and over again. Yet it is our actors which make toxic dramas like KTK and sas bahu dramas trend every now and then

Totally agree with Aamna's criteria! You can't be a best actor if you're repeating the same role for the 50th time also whilst I typically am not a fan of Feroze Khan's acting, he truly was wonderful as Basit, he outdid himself especially after the terrible acting in Aye Musht e Khaak ; Also thanks guys for the consistent upload schedule was pleasantly surprised to see you post today too really appreciate the hard work keep it up SH loved hassans enthusiasm too
But it is important to keep the same roles different too that matters too. Do you think hadi, adeel and mustajab were same? Their dialogue,the approach, the arc?

With respect to your choices of worst and best..I think you should have considered Farhan Saeed in top 5 ; he performed not only in Mere Humsafar but Badshah Begum too..both his roles were totally opposite..Shahzaib was a very challenging role and he did justice to his role..he had less dialogues more body language act which he did exceptionally amazing. Even as Hamza he impressioned a very realistic performance which left his essence with his audience..am not saying this because MH is popular..This role has left it's mark and the success is that we want to watch him in repeat even now

#onthespot...I think Farhan Saeed has to be in top 5 cause it was his presence that lifted up the drama when people were sick of that drama...also Farhan broke the perception that he can only play comic roles like in suno Chanda or Prem gali....and this was also said by saira Raza in her interview that she also had this perception but Farhan broke it with his brilliant performance.and we can't imagine anyone else as Hamza.

To me, worst was Azan Sami and the best was Wahaj Ali without any second thoughts.. I am from India and was first introduced to Wahaj Ali through Fitoor. Although the drama was bad/boring but I was blown away by Wahaj’s performance. Looking forward to Pyaar Hua Tha and the one with Yumna Zaidi.
Not just you dear, manny people when mentioning fitoor say wahaj as hamza was the only good thing about it, else that show was absolutely regressive and toxic.
I'm not a Farhan Saeed fan. But I've watched his dramas. I feel a good actor is one that fits in every role. Or one that makes you think they won't fit in any other roles. Farhan does comedy so effortlessly. He's really good in Suno Chanda. When you see Arsal, you think there's no way he can do tough negative character. Although BB was a garbage story, Farhan did justice as Shahzaib. Even in Romantic Dramas he's really good. Even big big actors can't pull off both. If they do comedy we'll they can't do serious roles. Then there are some actors who do the same roles again and again like Feroze. I've never really seen him do comedy well.
I know if I would have to put my list, my top 2 will be Wahaj Ali and Bilal Abbas but now I will come to some young actors who are so talented and have done exceptionally good work.
Khushaal Khan deserves to be talked here. His acting in Wehshi is class apart. The way he portrayed inner turmoil, wehshipan of Asif was not many established actors even can do. His acting in Mushkil was also good. Many actors struggle with screen presence, but this guy have insane screen presence. Totally a gem we got in our industry.
For female actors:
This year we can see Kinza Hashmi worked so hard. It's evident from her work. I always liked her as a person but this year she made me a fan of her acting. She was amazing in Ruposh, at her best in Dil Awaiz, in Weham and now see the teasers of Hook. She is so good in just those teasers. Would love to see her more on prime time slot.
Komal Meer: what a gem that was hidden from us. Totally an amazing actor. I saw her in Wehshi and Qalandar and she is nailing in both.
Anmol Baloch: She made us both hate and feel bad for Kiran. What a performance in such a dragged drama. She was equally good in Aik Sitam Aur.
I loved Saboor in Mushkil and Nehar as well.
As a huge Ahad fan. I really disliked the acting he did in Hum Tum. The facials expressions were too much, the change in voice, the constant yelling loudly. It didn't feel like Ahad. There's no doubt he was good in dramas like Yakeen Ka Safar or Yeh Dil Mera. He had a more (comedy) type role in beginning of YKS. Also in Ehd E Wafa. But what was wrong with Hum Tum? Was it directors fault? Or the storyline? Or Ahad just didn't understand the role? But he did bring back the real ahad towards the end. The sad scenes, serious scenes Ahad was that AHAD that he is.

The Worst Actor ( or I will not say worst but irritating actors) of the Year: 1 ) Omer Shahzad as Khurram in Mere Ha, Safari 2) Azaan Sami Khan in Isha-e-Laa; 3) Sami Khan in Tinkey Ka Sahara; 4) Miqaal Zulfikar in Chauraha. 1) The best actor: Feroze is a versatile actor- Not a single doubt in his performance. His expressions, depth when he portrayed the character, dialogue delivery, romance, and anger- he was a complete package in Habs. The worst actor - is Sami Khan in Tinkey Ka Sahara.
No Sami Is excellent in Tinkay Ka Sahara, I work with people who have anger management issues and his performance is very realistic. I believe you don't like the character and that's your choice but there's nothing with his performance in this drama, there is is Taqdeer.

Azan Sami Khan didn’t start well in Ishq e Laa but then he acted sooooo well after 10 episodes , loved him

I must add that Khushal Khan is excellent in Wehshi, a very watchable and different drama, which keeps one’s interest. Komal Meer, plus many senior actors including Barber Ali, has made this one of the better dramas on the circuit. It highlights the impact of neglect and abuse on a child and his betrayal by a girl he loved who gave him hope to better himself, then she dropped him for the richer step brother!
I’d love to see Khushal in more dramas he definitely has screen presence!

Missed Khusal khan …way better than Zaviyar.., his performance in Muskil was awesome, Wahashi is bad drama but best performance of khusal
I don't agree with your point that it's the scripts that didn't give chance to male actors to show acting skills. No matter how bad the role is, if actor is a good actor they can make it look different. Look at the Sajal as a person with philanthropist attribute in Ishq e Laa and Urwa with similar role in Meri Shahzadi. Needless to say Sajal's two or three scenes were more impacting than Urwa's whole campaign. Similarly Saba Qamar in Fraud is just like every other heroine's role but even if she cries it doesn't look repeated and makes people connect with it.
We should admit our male actors are not as talented as women. Bilal Abbas, Imran Ashraf, Ahad Raza Mir and probably Wahaj are the only actors that have done different roles and that too in a good way.
Farhan should be in top 3 . He is just awesome 😎😎😎

Farhan Saeed was amazing. This was definitely his year. Two great performances. Regardless of the awfully made Badshah Begun. I loved everytine Farhan was on screen.
No one could do a Billu other than Imran Ashraf. Perfect fit like a puzzle piece. Ahsan and Shahzad Sheikh was great in Mere Humsafar.

feroz Khan in Aye Musht-e-Khak …..he was mind blowing throughout all episodes…his character had so many layers from a nonbeliever to a complete believer …why you didn’t mention this drama …millions of viewers on every episode…trending throughout all episodes…
They didn't mention feroze khan beacuse his alleged scandal of harassing his Ex wife.
I loved his acting there especially when he converts to Islam.

Though i like Farhan Saeed but i am yet to be impressed by his acting skills. I have not watched any of his plays where his performance have really won me over.

So they have totally ignored Farhan's Performance in badshahbegum. It was grey character and Farhan played it brilliantly.
Totally agree. Farhan Saeed had played 2 different characters which were poles apart . If they didn't consider his role in MH at least they should have mentioned BB. Anyway , that's their personal opinion . Two critics ignoring Farhan will not in any way change the fact that it's his powerful performance that has drawn many Indian fans towards Pakistani dramas ❤️❤️

I think Farhan Saeed in Mere Humsafar and Badshah Begum over Danish Taimoor and Feroze Khan and Talha Chahour for JBH needs to be acknowledged! Atif Aslam was actually quite monotonous so don't agree with his inclusion.

I think it's a bit harsh to call Azan Sami's performance the worst. It was his debut, and still, it was ok.
The females are getting more variety in drama roles as compared to male actors
The only thing is as u guys dont watch soaps, non prime time dramas and daily plays, also occasionally miss few prime time dramas, you do miss on some phenomenal roles like u missing currently Khushaal Khan in wehshi, u missed Humayoun Ashraf in rangmahal last year etc etc.

I agree with you guys that there are soo many talented male actors, but good male roles are few and far between.. the characters needn’t be of ‘good’ guys, but if there’s a good arc and backstory then the actors get a chance to show their talent and also work on it even more.. even when male characters are villains, it’s better if the characters are well written and consistent, with a good backstory and motive..
loved khushhal khan in wehshi and Saad Qureshi as Zaheen in Woh Panagal si.. (I don’t know if you guys have watched it)
Noman ijaz was superb even in Nijaat (PTV). I think it was his second or third drama.
Babar Ali as Muhammad Bin Qasim, and then Drama Kanwal (PTV, his comic role against Qasim Jalali's daughter).
Shafi M Shah, Hasaam Qazi, Usman peerzada,...... I can write a whole paragraph full of names that started superbly.
BUT: The story, character arcs, execution.... Everything was done with excellence. Direction also matters, which nowadays is gone to the gutters

Ateeqa odho was introduced either in Dasht or Sitara & Mehrunnisa (can't remember exactly)

I loved the trio of Darakhzai Khajista and Dr Hadi. They stood out for me this year.

Abul Hassan in badhsah begum (though not lead) was quite impressive. Perhaps you can do a haute bite on top 5 supporting performances.

From the few dramas I followed this year, I agree with your list. I think when Danish Taimoor gets it right he is superb, but Shamsher is another version of the same love/toxic/obsessed character so I agree with being on the fence. My top award would be to Ahsan Khan who created a loveable but flawed character of Darakhzai, so different and younger to himself, shows great skill.
Zaviyar didn't perform well in any of his projects. His only comparatively good work was in Sang e Maah. I just don't get why he got award. And on the other hand we have another new comer Hamza Sohail. That guy just got two projects and he performed really well. In Raqeeb Se he had a role of middle class opportunist guy and he looked like that. In Badshah Begum he had a role of nice educated person and he was completely different from his role in Raqeeb Se. I'm not saying he can be considered for best performances but he is better than Zaviyar for sure :)
