Yes, I think Leon is an interesting character. On Google it said he went to medical school in Grenada ( Caribbean), which most people don't even consider a real education. He went on to flunk out of residency, so his physician in training was terminated.
He had a huge ego and was most likely being supported by his parents. He's laughable. He's a joke! I really hope the inmates are playing doctor with him.😂

She was upset that her daughter wasn’t there “to comfort me” from the fallout of having tried to murder the child’s dad. It was never your child’s job to comfort you for any reason, never mind for that one. I’m glad the child got away from her.
As unfortunate as this case was, I can understand where she was coming from. As illogical as it was, I can't imagine having to reconcile with the humiliation brought about from multiple infidelities and then having to share custody with him after trying to put up with and forgive him. Maybe she just had buyer's remorse and wished she was never with him to begin with but it was too late and she snapped.
I don't think she wanted to hurt anyone but him.

My son has helped me through so much. Not because I leaned on him but because he gave me a reason to get up everyday. I can understand that in that aspect. 😢

This reminds me of the story of Dalia Dippolito and how the police warned her husband of her plan to have him killed. They then surprised her at the police station when her husband entered the room, when he was already supposed to be dead.

That could have been a smart move for the daughter's mental health. If mom had been bad-mouthing dad to her (common in bitter divorce situations), having mom actually hand her over can help put everything in a more realistic perspective when old enough to process this.
I'm always suspicious when a younger man goes for an older woman with a young daughter. Valerie's ex had concerns about Leon and it could be that he sensed something was off.

You got the perfect voice for true crime stories imo. Out of countless true crime channels on TH-cam and all the crime content I’ve consumed over the years, this channel and a few others are the only crime channels I can watch all the way through because the rest of these channels are narrated by people with highly irritating voices. Thankful to find this channel for the suitable voice and appropriate tone for narrating true crime cases
Yes! I would listen to 12 hours a day of this podcast specifically for the voice alone. He could read a user manual for a 1996 Honda Civic and I’d probably still listen to it.
That and the actual, transparent respect for the victims and the families, is priceless. It’s rare to see a true crime channel focus so much on the victims. I feel like most channels erase them or don’t prioritize them in this.
There’s also a responsibility encouraged here to speak tf up and say something, ask for help, and listen to our gut. The whole true crime community should be pushing for the same.

A lot of these voices are artificial. Last year there were a bunch of YT adds selling these same voices. Also there are more that are narrated by voices from fiverr. Just saying don't be fooled.

There is one thing the narrator can correct, is that relationships with people like Leon don't "deteriorate or go sour" but the person they really are comes out. Everything before is and was always a facade.
I know this story very well as I've seen it described on other crime documentaries. Its hard to imagine that anyone could tell Leon what to do and control his thoughts and behavior. He is where he should be and all women can feel safe that he will never walk the streets again. One final word for Meghan Verikas, she is a very brave and awesome girl. I wish her only the best for the rest of her life

During covid I worked in a hospital in a really shady part of NYC and it was a horrible hospital and a lot of the doctors there went to med school in Granada because you don’t have to go to school for the same amount of time as the US and it’s easier. You only need to take some tests to transfer your license over to the US.

I think part of why Valerie was going along with this horrible plan was the anger and hurt she must’ve been feeling inside towards her ex husband. When she was with him, she sounded like what many men would love to have in a wife but she still was being cheated on. Probably hurt so bad and she obviously did not cope with it right.

I feel that Valerie would have been ok and gone on to live a normal life without Leon's influence. She might have hated her ex but I don't think she would have acted upon it. In the presence of an evil, charming and manipulate person she lost her reason and sense terribly. She got caught in a vicious reality and became twisted. She was culpable but it could have been avoided altogether. Sad.

I’ll agree that she might well have lived a harmless enough life if she never met him. But she did meet him and did plot murder. I’m sorry she felt compelled to take her life but I’d rather have that outcome than the two exes being murdered.

Leon got to Valerie at a weak point in her life. To hope your husband loves you enough to stop cheating but doesn’t can be disheartening. But to to take the chance to lose your daughter to have him killed because your boyfriend suggests it is crazy. She brought a monster around her child. Sheesh
