The Sinister Case Of Hannah Clarke

  • Hannah Clarke, a thirty-one-year-old mother of three, a strong, independent woman who lived life to the full, was to have that life cut very short by the actions of one selfish individual who believed they were dominant and superior. Hannah Clarke would destroy that person’s narrow-minded assumptions at great personal cost to herself.

    I’m a plumber and was working at the end of the street that day. I saw the car go up, called 000 and ran to see if anyone needed help. It was horrific and took me years of therapy and self help to move forward. Wish I could of done more for Hannah and her kids.

    This tragic set of circumstances happened in my town, 15 minutes from where I now live and in a suburb where I had lived previously. I remember the day it happened, the entire Brisbane community was in shock and mourning while being simultaneously horrified and utterly outraged at the father (he doesn’t deserve a name). Hannah, Aaliyah, Lianah, and Trey will always be in our hearts and minds. Their traumatic deaths and her parents strong advocacy has lead to coercive control laws being introduced in Queensland in an attempt to prevent these types of events and to prosecute those who continually behave coercively towards their partner. May their precious souls rest in peace 🙏🏻

      The problem is no one cares to see the system work hard and help those trapped in abusive cases. Take the Joshua Powell case where the cps worked to reunite the murderous father with his deeply neglectful ways to his children. People wrongly said it was because he was a man. No. It was because the law rather a abuser get custody of his kids than keep them safe. Even now abusive parents get more rights against a good parent who was victimized.
      There are no options to help protect victims of abuse. None at all. And protective orders are only works against people with sanity. Abusers who are insane and out of control won’t respect a piece of paper because their brain doesn’t have control.
      There are NO HELP for abuse victims at all

    • @marisaJ1
      @marisaJ1 ปีที่แล้ว +22

      @mpmikeb1290 Not always. I've worked with domestic abusers before and there aren't always signs. Sometimes controlling behaviour can be masked as just being attentive and caring. Love bombing can completely mask someone who is incredibly dangerous. Sometimes abusers are triggered by pregnancy, jealousy, job loss, alcohol and mental health and these things aren't always apparent immediately. Also you may not be able to identify controlling or abusive behaviour. You may have also grown up in an environment where domestic abuse was the norm. Abuse can be financial as well as physical, sexual or physical. It doesn't look the same in every relationship. A lot of the abusers I worked with presented themselves as calm, caring individuals who get on well with others. You'd only know how dangerous they were from their previous convictions and a police background check. I had one offender that murdered 1 person & tried to kill his wife and children when he became psychotic. He was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia afterwards.

Despite already have 3 children, she's one of those woman who always thinks about herself ie her life, her man, her husband, instead of thinking - I'm a mother. Luckily I was twice her size and she didn't use a weapon so I was not hurt. But the damage of putting up with her using the other methods described so clearly in this video was bad enough so everyone male and female keep an eye out for those signs and make plans to leave and be ready because once they realize they can't control you anymore it definitely increases the risk of them using physical violence. Depending on the level of violence, there is massive fear in leaving. One study showed that in the worst domestic abuse cases, over 50% of women that left these relationships were injured or murdered by their ex partner. When you have kids with these abusers, it's easy to sacrifice yourself in hopes of keeping your kid safe because you know if you both leave, the abuser can use the kids to harm you...just like we saw in this video where she had to die knowing her kids died...I could go on and on. I noticed when watching the part were Hannah and her ex husband were talking together about there gym I could clear see in his eyes and expressions he was totally jealous of when she spoke cause she was clearly so much better at what she did not just in the gym. but in everyway and that angered him. In a normal relationship a good husband 😌 would simply be so proud 👏 of there wife. Instead of being jealous he could have learnt from her but with his ego and angered jealous nature that was not to be just quite the opposite. I'm a father of a 7 year old daughter and I and my partner respect each other. All ways help each other and if one knows more then another at times we learn from each other. That makes use smarter and more powerful as a couple. This was very hard to watch this. It brought tears 😢 to my eyes for Hannah and her kids. Hey Guy's,
    I live 7 miles from Camp Hill. This rocked Brisbane, Queensland & Australia. The whole country was angry, hurt & in shock for days & weeks after the attack. Rowan Baxter became the most hated man in Australia instantly. Unfortunately, for all the work that Hannah's parents have put in, very little has changed in the area of domestic violence, as far as the law is concerned. Australia should be ashamed of our inability to learn from our mistakes. We continue to be soft on crime & are currently in the grip of a youth crime pandemic.

      Yep. Every single clip makes me wince because he's clearly trying to hurt them all. You don't forcefully knock down tiny kids, make them fall face first into shallow water, throw balls at their heads. There's something inside him, weirdly feral and scary in all those videos.

      Why do women or men remain in abusive relationships for years, decades? I dated a woman that did something abusive about a week into dating. I said goodbye and moved on with life. Why do some “victims” stay so long.?

    • @keluvnme
      @keluvnme ปีที่แล้ว +10

      @@sirvilhelmofyonderland it’s really long, but if u want to understand please read……because often times many don’t know any better. They’ve never been in that particular situation before, so their lack of experience is all the ammo someone else could need. Their naivety leads to their demise. The aggressor will often “lovebomb” the victim after the abuse. Gifts, apologies, promises never to do it again and they can be very convincing so then another chance is given. And the cycle repeats. Fear is another reason. Think about being terrified to the Max and multiply that by millions. Often times the victims families and friends and kids are the first ones to be threatened if they choose to leave…so our fear of that…they stay. Then you have reverse psychology where the abuser manipulates the person into believing they deserved it and it’s ALL their fault… u get my point? It’s sooooo many reasons. And then the police are no help at all. When restraining orders are filed and then violated, the police never intervene until someone is severely hurt or dead.

      @@keluvnme I appreciate the response. Do some victims stay because they were abused as kids? Perhaps by someone they loved? They get normalized to abuse? It’s a complex issue. Staying with an abuser in no way makes it ok.

      @@sirvilhelmofyonderlandI can’t fully say for sure. But here is my guess, it seemed like the abuser, I can’t remember his name. (I’m tired after working) was a insensitive jerk. How bad? Enough that Hanna and her family noticed and didn’t like it. He was at least self absorbed, insensitive, a jerk probably overly boastful and over confident yet was insecure and anti women.
      His personality changed either over time or becaue of the steroids which steroids will make the person act up, and be way too aggressive.
      Then Hanna stays because the change is slow and gradual or she loves him and misses the old (false) self. Add in kids and she hopes they can stay as a family. He seem to change after they had kids so he probably was hiding his true self but not enough because people saw it. He just wasn’t capable of love at all because children require love and his narc self couldn’t handle not being in the spotlight.
      Then it became too late for Hanna to safely get out because this guy has become so delusional from reality and drugs. I think she stayed because at first it wasn’t bad and it gradually got worse then extreme but by that point he’s too fixated at her. She never saw herself as a victim so she didn’t see the warning flags. She probably thought she was endanger and not her kids. The fact she didn’t see the danger and underestimated him but he was so insane he was a danger to anyone he got closed to

      @@sirvilhelmofyonderland A LOT of kids are abused since a lot are in poverty especially in the USA where it costs tens of thousands to be born and die, not to mention everything in the middle. When you are abused all your life, you won't know the difference when another abuser comes along, it's all we know. This family was just too emotionally and mentally weak to stand up to an abuser. Parents should have never should have left her be with him, they seem like nice people just too nice and sweet for their own daughters survival unfortunately.

    This is one more reason the 2A in America is a good idea. Imagine if the man with the garden hose or any of the neighbors trying to help had been allowed and willing to be armed with a gun to take Baxter out and try and save those kids.
    But rest assured, the unrepentant will face judgement and God will have his vengeance. And that sweet mom and her kids are safe and pain free now in paradise. ❤️

    I was in the middle of a DV Nightmare and it had destroyed me. Seeing what happened to Hannah and the children woke me up as my ex looked and acted identical to this monster. Hannah gave me the strength to run and live my life. If I'd stayed, I'd have been killed. There is no doub in my mind. It's a nightmare because you think your imagining the control. I tried explaining to people and they asked if I was sleeping correctky or imagining it. That's literally how confusing these predators are, I stopped asking for help after people said I was acting crazy. Hannah and her babies saved my life. I will always remember them.

      How terrible for you. I am glad to read that Hannah and her three children's absolutely horrendous story and suffering at the hands of this disgusting monster had some benefit. I am a 53 year old man and have never raised my hand to any woman, and am good friends with most of my exes. Men like this make me sick and also angry. I cannot fathom how weak and evil you must be as a man to act like this towards a weaker person at all, man or woman, but your own wife and children? Pure evil. Well done for having the strength to get away. I hope you are safe now. It will likely take some time to heal. Be kind to yourself.

    It’s the same laws in the US with domestic abuse and also with stalking. Nothing can be done until something physical happens, crazy. The worst part of this case is the fact that her last minutes on earth were in mind numbing pain, knowing her children were dying the same painful way and that devil made it out.
