I have enjoyed your story my sister. Your sister from Uganda here. I know how sensitive making life decisions in our 20s is like and I fully understand your quagmires - you were very young and suddenly had to make life changing decisions at a less experienced age. We think we are old in our early 20s but we have hardly left our sheltered upbringing before we must face reality in the face. We are very lucky if we do it right at that age.
You were very advanced in your spiritual life at that time to have gotten to the point of being a praise and worship leader. Do you know that that is the end of our journey with God? Or the highest goal of our spiritual journey?! To arrive at a point of 'worshipping the Lord in Spirit and in truth?' Because it is also our biggest spiritual weapon and cover from the old age enemy of our souls? Therefore, to allow a bully, in the name of a husband take that away from you was the first mistake you made. Because if he takes that away from you, he will possess you. That is where he made you fall. Had you kept just that one thing, it would have turned everything around for you. Because, a man should never be allowed to remove your corner stone from you.
Plus bullies are really cowards. Had you stood your ground firmly on that one, he would have given up - just like your push and pull over the children was - he finally gives up. If he says relinquish your praise and worship session, which God has elevated you to and you agree, he will take anything else he wants and will bring you down to dancing with poles. And then you will realize: Eh, how far have I fallen?'
The lesson that young gal in her 20s had to learn to value was that her relationship with God was not negotiable. That is the strength of a woman who is married to a non-believer. And I call your husband a non- believer because if he was a believer, he would know that you cannot put asunder what God has put together, period. The only way he is allowed to divorce you is if you committed sexual immorality with another man. Shirt of that, now he is guilty of making you commit adultery should you remarry, and even the man who would marry you now would be committing adultery.

Sue, sorry for what you went through. Our cultures have failed to catch up with the changing world dynamics. We are in that point in our generation where marriage should be for two people who love and accommodates each other’s faults. We need to be prepared for such eventualities even in marriage and our day to day life.

I know some woman who got everything even bodyguards but after bearing two kids, he has never seen the man, never had sex since she is always guarded by three bodyguards and now is 5 years counting, everything is provided for, only women friends are allowed to visit her. What kind of life is that? Let's be careful of choices we make. May God help those suffering in silence and just know there is always light at end of tunnel

Sorry Susan that you had to go through such a marriage, I am happy to see that you are a strong in your faith for to know God & to believe in Him is great empowerment. Sadly I also live with a covert narcissist but he isn't as extreme as your ex, gosh yours was terrible!! its like the evil boils from deep inside their souls & are so empty & hopeless but once they step outside the house they pretend to be the 'saint' ! So generous out there with his time & money, so caring & concerned...I mean is like an angel...how then can anyone believe me if I start sharing what I go through behind closed doors😢...but there's God in heaven who sees & knows it all & am sure He will come through for me & reveal the way forward in my life🙏.

I'll say this again: the number 1 duty of parents is to protect their child. This woman's parents let her down. No two ways about it. No justification for bonding with their daughter's abuser, while at the same time discarding their own daughter. Let's not sugar coat the toxicity of the parents in "they were worried about society's perception after the marriage breakdown". End of.

Please stop abusive child...once they become adult s they will harm the countries people
