Among other matters for these remasters is the overdub of later electric sirens in the cop cars. That type of siren wasn't implemented until '68 in the US. Most Japanese police cars used conventional sirens and then there was the wailing type later. I grew up on a lot of live action Japanese TV shows, so I know this first hand. The original 8 Man series dated from '63-'64. in Japan. In several episodes you can see references to the years it took place.
